Thanks buddy! but I didn’t understand Kagami’s LB 2 ending, I understand the first 3 pics, the last pic which shows Sword in the middle of waste… What that means! Kagami died or what!
Some more questions!
Is Igniz and the old man who set on the chari are the same person!?
How many Zero clones are in KOF 2000! I didn’t get that one!
SS 1: Amakusa Shiro Tokisada, priest of darkness, awakens from a long sleep, and takes possession of the body of one of Hanzo’s sons (forgot if it was Kanzo or Shinzo). He then proceeds to wreck havoc in Japan, and his sphere of evil also spreads out throughout the world (reaching places like France and USA). He is out for revenge against the shogun’s family for sealing him off so many years ago. Amakusa fights for his master, lord of evil Ambrosia.
Samurais around the world gather to try and stop Amakusa. Some do so by their own will (‘ronins’), while others go by direct orders from shogun Tokugawa (like Yagyu Jubei). Hanzo goes for personal reasons (wants to recover his son). Tam Tam wants to recover the Parenkei stone, stolen from his village by Amakusa (there are 2 stones, Tam Tam is in charge of one, and his little sister Cham Cham is in charge of the other one). Amakusa uses the Parenkei stone as his weapon.
At the end, Amakusa is sealed off again, taking Hanzo’s son’s body along with him.
CAST
Gen-an Shiranui: Dark wizard. Married to Azami, and names his claw after her (Azami Scissors). It is said that he seeks the dark power that Amakusa wields, but his ending only parodizes that of Haohmaru’s…
Galford: American ninja who constantly seeks justice along with his pet dog Poppy.
Haohmaru: Wandering samurai looking for a good fight and some good booze.
Ukyo Tachibana: Ladies’ man who has heart for only one - Kei Odagiri. Goes in search of the flower bouquet for her, and stumbles upon the ‘demon flowers’…
Charlotte: French revolutionary leader, who goes to eliminate the source of evil in Japan in order to protect her country.
Tam Tam: Wild Incan warrior out to recover the stolen Parenkei stone from Amakusa.
Earthquake: Fat American ninja who is also a thief. Only seeks to steal Amakusa’s goods.
Nakoruru: Protector of Nature, as commanded by her sacred duty as an Ainu. Is very good with speaking to animals, especially her pet eagle Mamahaha.
Wan Fu: Chinese emperor, who seeks to unify China under his reign. The ending makes out that he failed to do so…
Jubei Yagyu: Warrior sent by shogun Tokugawa to stop Amakusa’s reign of terror. Befriends the Courier Man (running man who throws items in the battlefield) upon saving his…wife/sister (?)
Hanzo Hattori: Leader of the Iga Ninja clan, not only sent by the shogun to stop Amakusa, but also seeks to recover his son.
Kyoshiro Senryo: Kabuki dancer who seeks the perfect performance. Why he wants to get involved in all this is beyond my comprehension…
Shiro Tokisada Amakusa: Dark priest who works for Ambrosia, and is out to plague the world with evil.
SS 3:
After Amakusa is defeated, a new menace arrives. The demon swordsman, Zankuro Minazuki, calls forth all worthy samurais to die by his blade. Zankuro was known for killing many innocent people and virtually pounding entire villages to the ground many years ago, before his rampage stopped in one village, where he couldn’t bring himself to kill a baby boy. He has only targeted worthy fighters for killing since then.
Again, several samurais gather forth to meet with Zankuro, either seeking a good fight, to stop a possible further rampage, or have personal issues with him (Shizumaru, Basara).
Zankuro is defeated and presumably kills himself in the end. Appears to be that Zankuro was really a man possessed by a demon, and in the end, kills himself to make up for all the deaths he has caused…
CAST:
Galford: Punish Zankuro for his crimes.
Haohmaru: Wants a nice fight against Zankuro, and help his friend Shizumaru.
Ukyo Tachibana: It seems that picking up the ‘demon flowers’ has taken its’ toll on Ukyo, since he is now very sick with tuberculosis. Anyhow, he is out to avenge the deaths of some fans at Zankuro’s hands.
Nakoruru: Thinks Zankuro is a menace to Nature. Goes out with Mamahaha and her pet wolf, Shikuuru.
Hanzo Hattori: Possibly still after Amakusa so he may leave his son alone.
Kyoshiro Senryo: Thinks he can learn a new dance from Zankuro (WTF? :wtf: )
Amakusa Shiro Tokisada: He’s back, and he doesn’t like any demon to steal his spotlight. Still weak from last time.
Genjuro Kibagami: He doesn’t care about Zankuro, but rather he likes to hunt Haohmaru down. Haohmaru and Genjuro were old training partners under the tutelage of Caffeine Nicotine.
Shizumaru Hisame: He was the boy who was not killed by Zankuro so many years ago. He soon takes a trip to find more about Zankuro and the reason he lived that day (also to avenge his mother’s death at Zankuro’s hand that day). He teams up with Haohmaru, and trains with him, but he doesn’t know that Zankuro is really his father!
Gaira Kafuin: Grandson to Nicotine, and old friend of Haohmaru and Genjuro. A big, yet gentle monk who dislikes the use of weapons or fighting as a whole.
Basara Kubikiri: A man who was killed by Zankuro along with his lover Kagaribi. He was allowed to live and roam around like a tormented soul who targets Zankuro, but Kagaribi still roams his mind and heart…
Rimururu: Nakoruru’s younger sister, she intends to make Nakoruru’s burden lighter by helping her out along with her ice sphere Konril.
Kuroko: The referee. Eh, only in for gameplay reasons.
Zankuro Minazuki: Shizumaru’s father possessed by the spirit of a demon. First, he killed people by the thousands with no reason, but partially regained his senses when he recognized his son, Shizumaru. Now he only kills wothy swordsmen…
And then there’s SS2 right in the middle with Ashogin Mizuki crippling Shinzo to the brink of death, and Hanzo’s wife gives her life to let him live… Along with Nakoruru giving her life to stop the evil from pouring in, and Galrod and Nakoruru’s relationship with one another become apparent… Which I don’t understand how she’s in SS3, I didn’t think she was, I thought it was only Rimururu, because she gave the responsibility of protecting nature to her in Nak’s absence.
Mummy-B: The timeline of SS goes like this: SS 1 -> SS 3 -> SS 4 -> SS 64 -> SS 2 -> SS: Warriors Rage. That kind of explains Ukyo and Nakoruru still being alive in SS 3 and ahead…
Ryuji Yamazaki: He is a gangster that operates in the underworld of Hong Kong. He was taken in as a child by a crime leader, who teached him the criminal world, and was like a father figure for Yamazaki. One day, Yamazaki’s foster father was murdered, and Yamazaki snapped. Since that day, he lost all sanity, which has became his trademark since he always wraps up his deals using brutal violence. Yamazaki is only interested in easy money, and will do anything for nice, cold cash. He worked as a bodyguard for the Jin twins in FF 3, and was hired by Geese Howard to enter the KOF '97 tournament with the promise that he would receive twice the amount of the prize money if he won.
Yamazaki is obviously persecuted by Hon Fu for his several crimes in Hong Kong, but by the looks of it, Hon Fu is Yamazaki’s personal bitch. Yamazaki also has a beef with Kim, obviously, since Kim is the “justice man”. Heck, I think no one relates to Yamazaki very well.
As you may know by KOF '97, Yamazaki is part of the Orochi clan, which partially explains his liking for violence.
And that is Yamazaki in a nut shell… Oh yeah, and he likes to bust Kyokugenryuu dojos in his spare time (hinted in KOF '97 prologue stories and by Khushnood Butt’s ending in MOTW).
SS 4:
Amakusa makes his move once again, this time from his castle in Shimabara. To be successful this time, Amakusa kidnaps Hazuki Kazama (who appears to have be a sacrificial maiden of sorts) and uses her to gain control of Zankuro’s spirit, and make him his ally in his plot. Apparently, Amakusa divides into two personas: his bad side (the boss) and the partially good one (the one you select). Anyhow, since Amakusa is at it again, everyone comes back to foil his plans.
Once you reach Shimabara and defeat “evil” Amakusa, he gets split in half by the revived Zankuro, who wishes one more fight. You defeat Zankuro, then defeat your personal final boss, and Shimabara goes up in a light geyser. End.
CAST
Haohmaru: Back for more.
Genjuro Kibagami: Hunts for Haohmaru again.
Galford: Wants more justice.
Hanzo Hattori: Chases Amakusa around to recover his son.
Charlotte: Defends France.
Tam Tam: Wants to recover the Parenkei Stone again.
Shiro Tokisada Amakusa: Wishes to rejoin his “evil” side.
Nakoruru: Protect Nature from Amakusa’s evil.
Rimururu: Helps out her sister.
Kyoshiro Senryo: Looks for more new dance steps. Ends up summoning Mizuki in the end (dork!).
Jubei Yagyu: Out on an official mission to stop Amakusa, along with Hanzo.
Ukyo Tachibana: Fights to protect his loved ones.
Shizumaru Hisame: Wants to know the truth about his demon blood.
Basara Kubikiri: Wishes to give his soul a rest.
Gaira Kafuin: Notices evil deeds behind Shimabara, and goes to seal them off.
Kazuki Kazama: Brother to Hazuki, he leaves his ninja clan to save her, thus being marked for death by his clan. Cocky and arrogant.
Sogetsu Kazama: Also brother to Hazuki and Kazuki, he is the one sent by his clan to kill Kazuki. Has no remorse since he is a badass.
Zankuro Minazuki: Revived by Amakusa, but goes solo.
Cham Cham is also selectable in the PSX version, but has no official tie with the storyline.
SS 64:
It’s all about a new evil entity called Yuga who wishes to control the world. Samurais go after him. I don’t know much about these series, but they certainly don’t show anything new.
CAST (SS 64 I):
Haohmaru
Nakoruru
Rimururu
Kazuki Kazama
Sogetsu Kazama
Galford
Ukyo Tachibana
Hanzo Hattori
Hanma Yagyu (some big guy with mechanical implants)
Shiki (servant to Yuga. Goes after Haohmaru because he wants him to be Yuga’s new host body)
Genjuro Kibagami
Kuroko
CAST (SS 64 II):
Asra (another killer who serves Yuga. Hunts down Shiki because she failed)
Morosumi (the guy with the big brush. His family was killed and now he has gone insane)
After the SS 64 series, SS 2 takes place, and I think Mummy B resumed it quite well (Nakoruru dies to save the planet ala FF VII Aeris, Ukyo does his best ‘Edward Scissorhands’ impression, Earthquake goes to hell, Kyoshiro and Seiger get some ass, etc.).
For a better understanding of the latest game in the SS series (Warriors Rage), refer to the following link:
Actually, that was NOT Yamazaki that busted Butt’s gym, most likely. At least, assuming the ending wasn’t mistranslated or anything. When a gym buster takes the sign, they do so as a custom so that the gym’s members may fight the gym buster to take the sign back and regain their honor. That really doesn’t sound like something Yamazaki would do. Since when was he one to care about custom or honor or anything besides just busting Kyokugen dojos?
Why does Grant look like Geese? They have entirely different official measurements and Grant has a bulkier build.
And their personalities are completely different, too.
A lot of stuff about Grant is blown out of proportion. The jist of it is that he’s Kain’s best friend, shares Kain’s dreams and ideals (and is helping Kain work towards them) and is dying due to his art (and almost definately is dead after Garou). It’s a pretty big jist but there isn’t anything like Grant being Geese or having some uber hidden mysterious agenda/past or anything. People keep trying to make connections where there aren’t any, it seems, I suppose.
even though i think its pretty obvious that grant is not geese (they have totally different haircuts, moves, stances, taunts, etc.), i think there’s more to that than meets the eye. my opinion: geese has some sort of control over grant or grant’s soul from the other side.
alright, i know that’s pretty far-fetched, and i could easily be wrong, but there are a few things, like that cutscene after the second battle in arcade mode–doesn’t it look like he’s possessed or something. then he says: “come to me, O mighty one”. is he referring to his future opponent or geese? i think he has a history of resorting to sorcery and things like that to become stronger–maybe geese is giving him the power he desires?
then consider that rock says that his blood boils when he sees grant (their intro). it seems to me that if there was no connection between the two (rock & grant), why would rock have any response to seeing grant? can rock sense geese’s presence via grant?
also, his win artwork changes if he beats terry. instead of confidently looking into the camera, he turns away, he looks like he is in pain, and his back has these weird bumps on it. if geese wasn’t in a part of grant’s soul, why would grant have such a violent reaction to geese’s arch-nemesis?
i know those arguments are a bit flaky, but that’s how i read into grant’s story, and if you don’t believe that’s fine.
now i have a question: was shiro amakusa a real person?
tool_028 always shows up to push this thread back up.
Actually, that reaction by Rock is NOT exclusive to just Grant. If you finish off your opponent with a super (I think it has to be the Neo Deadly Rave), Rock grasps his hand, and powers up to the point of exhaustation. Then his victory pic changes, and says “Why does my blood boil?”. By tapping into his true inner power (through his supers), Rock may be getting in touch with the ‘dark side’ that Geese inherited him. It might give us a hint that Geese did really intend to live through Rock, as I don’t think Geese’s power was THAT special to be something that could be passed on to your children (like, say, the Orochi power).
As for Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, yes, he was based on a VERY young Christian fanatic who tried to make an uprising in the Shimabara region (sounds familiar? Yep, Shimabara is where Amakusa’s castle is located in SS 4), but then they say his followers and him got killed. The weird (and creepy) thing is that they never found his body…
I think it’s more safe to say that the evil blood in Rock is from his mom’s side. As far as I know, Geese did not have any mystical powers. He was all skill, nothing mystical. On the other hand, Kain seems to have mystical powers, which Rock may have as well. Just my thoughts though…
BTW, Grants real name is Abel.
the reason i broguht up the grant-rock intro was because rock only gets this “riot of the blood” whenever he does or sees soemthing relted to his family:
-seeing kain
-finishing a match with the raging storm
-seeing geese (yes i know that’s its not cannon, and not even SNK)
-seeing grant
if grant was just some guy, why would rock have a response? i think rock can sense geese’s presence
also, it looks like grant is going to be dead in the next garou, or at least he’ll die in garou. his ending made it look like he has some illness, and it looks like he perishes in everyone else’s endings. but more importantly, his real name is abel. (k)cain kills abel in the bible story, and it looks like that’s what sNK is aiming for.
also, was yagyo jubei a real person? the only reason i ask is because he is sent by the shogun to kill amakusa in both samurai shodown and the ninja resurrection anime.
About Jubei: Yes, he was also based on a real person, I think he is one of the most faithful representations of SS, since the real Jubei was also a secret agent for the Shogun, lived in a secluded cabin in the forest, and also had his eye gouged out (after his father threw a rock at him during training).
