Tales of Dark & Light: The SNK storylines-Revived

Hon-Fu gets whupped, BADLY.

I know.

However, another thing they show is that Kim is ready to teach ANYONE Tae Kwon-Do, finish the game with him and he takes in the Jin Twins.

Another thing they show is that Joe wants to shoot a movie and that Rick loves riding a horse with a girl (probably off to go get some from same girl)

Well, lots of endings in RB 2 are either pointless or are just joke endings (Andy and Mai?). Regarding Kim, he takes in both Jin twins as students, but in Chonrei’s ending, he ends up training with Tung Fu Rue (same goes in Tung’s ending), and in Chonshu’s ending, he always ends up with Kim.

And I think they have reduced Joe down to useless joke character in that game. In Xiangfei’s ending, she picks a fight with a street punk, who has sent Joe flying off. Joe defeated by a nameless street punk? :wtf:

But…Krauser’s ending definetly takes the ‘funniest ending EVA’!

Some Kyo Questions.

With so much talk about Kusanagi lately, I have been wondering some things for a long time:
[]Are his clothes fireproof? I mean, they seem like it when he does a SDM Orochinagi, that engulfs his whole body. However, in another picture, they’re are burning off.
[
]Same thing for his skin? Is it fireproof? And if so, is exclusive to his flame?
[]Was Kyo born with his powers? Or did they do the X-Men thing, and manifest during puberty?
[
]Could Kusanagi and Yagami clans hurt each other with their flame powers before the Orochi-Yagami Pact?
Hope these can be answered soon.

what are the storylines for chonshu and chonrei?

 1. i know the gloves are fire-proof, buti don’t know about the rest… actually, i think the post-99 duds are fire-proof [he found them in the NESTS base]

 2. don’t know–some have said it hurts kyo and iori to use the flames, but some have said it doesn’t hurt. if it doesn’t hurt then i suppose it doesn’t matter if his skin’s fire-proof

 3. yes, he was born with the powers

 4. i think they could always hurt each other [just a guess–i don’t see why not]

the jins:
their family has had the scrolls of immortality for a while. they initiate the FF3 tournament to give away the scrolls to the winner. i don’t know why they want to get rid of them, though. the southtown heroes are worried that something is amiss, so they enter to find out what’s happening. the jins hire yamazaki to protect them.

terry wins the tournament, and he has to fight both of the jins to get the scrolls. they’re really strong, but suddenly lose their powers, and terry beats them. terry finds out that the reason why the were weakened was because geese stole the scrolls.

later, in RBFF, the jins follow terry to the top of geese tower and one of them destroys the scrolls. and that’s it. i don’t think they became tung’s or kim’s students

Some Kyo Questions.

 1. Welcome to Fighting Logics Rules #1948: Clothes won’t burn off if you’re engulfed by flames (anybody who gets burned will not get their clothes burned off). In his SDM Orochinagi, he manifests his true aura. Kind of like the power-up thingy from DBZ. However, this manifestation of his aura causes the opponent to burn because, well, Kusanagi’s aura is based on crimson flames. But all in all, while Kyo’s gloves ARE supposed to be fireproof, his clothes are just a simple school uniform, as far as I’m concerned. I think that by KOF '99, he has achieved such level of mastery, that he doesn’t need the special gloves anymore (uses normal gloves).

 2. In Kusanagi, it doesn’t hurt. In Yagami, it does, due to the pain that the Orochi power gives him (more power for more pain). So, basically, while Kyo can wield his flames at will, Iori will always suffer when he wields his purple flames.

 3. He was born with his power, but in order for it to ‘manifest’, you must have full concentration and knowledge of your power, something Kyo couldn’t possible achieve as a child.

 4. Yes, they can hurt each other. The Yagami clan had crimson flames before the Orochi pact (hence, making them purple), but even if that didn’t happen, they could still hurt each other. Reason? Saisyu and Kyo can hurt each other, and they use the same type of flame.

Jin Chonshu and Jin Chonrei are twins and are BOTH males (Chonshu is just another SNK effeminate kid).

The Jin twins are descendants of the original Qin demons. A long time ago (some say that 3000 years), the Qin ambitioned to obtain the Scrolls of Immortality, that would grant them eternal life. The Qin demons were inhuman beings: they had no human features, purely demoniac (how their blood could flow into humans is beyond me). However, they could not achieve their ambition for some reason, but their legacy was passed through the human bloodline (again, don’t ask me how). One Qin was a lightining demon, while the other was a fire demon.

In the current age, Chonshu and Chonrei are direct descendants to the Qin. In their blood runs the power of the demons, and their very spirit. Which means, the Qin demons can control the Jin twins to do their will (which is why sometimes they act possessed). They now want to achieve what they couldn’t manage to do so many years ago: obtain the Scrolls of Immortality. They are SUPPOSED to have them in FF 3, but info was leaked out about their plans, and now Terry and the rest want to stop them. The Jins hire Yamazaki as their personal bodyguard.

After FF 3, the Scrolls pass from the Jins to Geese Howard, which leads to RBFF. After Geese dies, Chonrei destroys the Scrolls (shown in their ending), which liberates them from the ambition of their ancestors.

Before anyone asks, the Jin brothers only had one scroll in FF3. The other two were owned by Krauser and Tung Fu Rue. This is until Geese took the two from Krauser and Tung. So in FF3, Geese had two of the scrolls and the Jin’s had one.

But in RBFF Geese has all 3, right?

To my knowledge, ya, Geese had all three in RBFF. SNK really hasn’t been clear on what the whole deal was with these scrolls.

so all geese had to do was to decipher the three scrolls and he’d become immortal?

and the jins held the tournament to lure out wolfgang and tung?

I wonder if this inspired the Fatal Fury movie. In that, Krauser and Tung both had a piece of the Mars armor.

I think the FF movie was released before FF 3, so I think it’s the other way around (like the Alpha series being inspired by the animated movie).

This doesn’t have anything to do with the storylines but I do have a question…

In '99, in one of Terry’s win poses, there was a monkey jumping up on his shoulder. Who is he and how did he get there???

I think that’s just his pet. I don’t know how long he’s had it.

I think the monkey first appeared in Fatal Fury 3. You can also see him in the Garou Team’s stage in KOF '95 (he usually paces around the dock, jumping up and down).

Regarding Geese’s Death - So, was a corpse ever found? Is there a remote chance that he used the scrolls on himself and granted himself immortality? I mean, I think it would be silly if he showed up in like Mark of the Wolves 2 but Video Game Villains are hard to kill off.

I think the monkey’s name is Ukee…

I’m still not completely clear about the Jin story. Why did they hold the tournament??? To get the scrolls? To give them away? Or did they not sponsor the tournament?

I am reading that Nakoruru died in SS2.

Didn’t she actually become some immortal protector of nature? I think that’s how some explained her appearance in CvS. (I know it’s not canon, but hey. Haohmaru’s and Hibiki’s are just retarded.)
