Here’s one of my rare posts.
I think the atmmosphere at this tournament was the best of all the torunaments I’ve EVER been to period. I’m so glad that I convinced Gilles [my friend from Calgary] to purchase that camcorder while here. Originally we were just going to record what we wanted and be done with it, but I changed my mind mid-way and decided to record more stuff.
My greatest regret was to not record more. I will try to find a way to share the stuff with Nagata Lock sometime so that we have it. It’ll be tight timing concidering the fact Gilles goes back to Calgary Wednesday.
I hope I get to see those Empire Arcadia guys again. They were awesome. Awesome attitudes, even better players, etc…
I’m also utterly stunned at how the main event for Marvel [the 5 on 5 round robin challenge] turned out. Team Canada losing by a single game to team Empire Arcadia is a shocker to say the least concidering how we did in general marvel-wise outside of this instance.
Empire was dominant to say the least in Marvel outside of this instance. At least from what I saw anyways.
I can’t wait to see the lessons they might have in store for us next time.
Hey, I’m the kid who was fucking around trying to take videos with his laptop. Whoever’s putting together the DVD: I’ve got a somewhat-shaky record of the 3S singles finals if you’re interested. It’s not quite DV-quality (it is, in the end, just a webcam), but it’s quite watchable imo. Also I got most of the 3S 5on5 taken from Empire’s side (missed a match and a half of ack’s turn though), but I know you had the camera set up on the other side for that too. Feel free to contact me if you want them.

The 5 on 5’s were very entertaining to watch, I saw alot of new things in 3S and I’m going to be training for next year. It was very fun playing A3 on mame, not too much challenge but I love the game so much I don’t care heheh

Yeah, T6 was great. I didn’t get many casuals in because I either showed up late that day or I was just exhausted. It’s a result of what happens when a group presentation becomes… a non-group presentation due to a dumbfuck presentation partner. And that’s on top of the assignment rushdown that happens at this time of the term. 
So whoever was there on Friday night- I was the guy sleeping over by the computers. :tup:

Veasna- Wtf happened in our game? I played you first round in 3s singles, and I somehow managed to beat your Ken, even though I was nervous as fuck, missing ridiculously easy GJ combos, and shaking all over the place.
Fred(?)- I think I played you somewhere in the loser’s bracket. I still can’t figure out why you switched from Ken to Dudley when I barely beat your Ken in the second round… 
Marvin- I hate you. Stop parrying my random crap! lol. j/k. Thanks for teaching me even more random crap to add to my arsenal of random crap, and the smokes. :tup:
The other people I met- It was fun times chilling with everyone for the times I was awake. And GG’s go out to everyone else I played. It’s not that you’re not special, it’s just that I really don’t feel like writing up a bunch of random one-liners for everyone.
And I think I’m going to bring earplugs to the arcade from now on to simulate Orbit cabs.

No man. I’m usually a sarcastic jackass, but I’m not THAT jackass. In all honesty, I really have no clue what happened. Something just seemed wrong about those matches.
Bragging would be me saying, “OH MAN, YOU GUYS ALL SUCK AT 3S! GO BACK TO TRAINING MODE!” or something along those lines.

Maybe i am just speaking for myself, but if all these people are at evo i think the 3s tourney might be the craziest event in moderm sf, it may need it’s own dvd set.

Its 4:06 am and I just got back to the Empire state, I’ve read most of the post since yesterday, but I have to get up for work in 3 hours, so I will not be able to post. I get off at 5, so when I get back to the office I will be able to address all you guys comments and questions.
