T-SLG (Toodles Scanline Generator) Authentic retro look from your modern flatscreen

When do you suspect the kits will be available again ?

I’d love to get 3 kits.

Thank you

T-SLG v1.6 Full Kit

out of stock

OR does the kit not get sold any longer ?(I’m a noob)

I do have another question, I have several 60 in 1 jamma boards that allow for LCD monitor hook up. No additional hardware required, can I simply use the T-SLG between the board and LCD ? I see via the thread some applications where people are using boards from Ebay, but I’m guessing that is for older boards/different uses ? (again this is all new to me, sorry if the questions are novice)

nope just complete kits

and yep 60-1 mamma boards are fine

How tall are the hex spacers you are using inbetween the plexis on the scaler?

I’ve been using a DC VGA cable I got off ebay and I’m not sure if its the cable or what, but some of the games I have won’t display. (and I took the SLG out of the equation so its not that) I did read that some backup discs will not work over vga… thinking of just ordering a SCART cable.

none filled down the excess prongs so it will lay flat

I put a switch on my on my vga dc box I have the clear one made by retro something the switch cuts off one of the grounds of so the dc thinks its in scart mode I think its if the dc detects two ground it goes vga and if one ground is detected it thinks scart it might be the other way around I did it a while ago but its super cheap super easy mod

Just ordered two units, one for my MAME and the other for my 60 in 1.
Can’t wait to try these out and get more.

Thanks

Hi Toodles,

I just received my T-SLG. Very fast shipping. Thanks!

I had a small suggestion for the next version of the shield. Currently the shield obscures the labels for the dip switches. I was wondering if it could be possible to also print those labels on the shield itself. At least for me it was hard to remember which side was positive vsync/ negative vsync (this is just an example)

Does it make sense?

Yes it does and its a brilliant idea. It will also help keep straight which way the shield should go on. I will add that to the todo list. I do have to mention that I’ve got a large large number of T-SLGs to sell before it’s time for the next run, but when that happens, I’ll do that.

Hello guys. I’ve been reading through most of the posts for a few hours (starting back since 2011.) Props to Toodles and RosserRooster. Quick question; when will the “do it yourself” full kits be in stock again? Apologies if I missed that line. Thank you guys for your hard work.

Sorry man Toddles is only doing fully assembled kits if ever does decide to back it won’t be for a long time. Just trying to keep cost down and universal as possible. There was large demand for assembled units

Hello RosserRooster, thanks for your reply. No worries, I asked because I like assembling things. I’ll be purchasing one either way. Cheers!

I received my t-slg yesterday and I love it!! dreamcast looks amazing with scanlines on my sony lcd. here’s a picture of Gunlord with scanlines.

If I use a VGA splitter after this will both signals be able to get the scanlines?

To the best of my knowledge, it should work fine.

Any recommendations? I’d hate to go and buy one that didn’t work.

Well, I dont honestly know since I havent looked into them, but as long as the splitter doesn’t show any change in the colors when used without the T-SLG, it shouldn’t show any change with the T-SLG. Since I doubt highly that any VGA splitter you could get would do that, Im pretty sure you’re fine with whatever you get, I just havent tested it personally.

I’m sorry about all the questioning, but as of right now my plan is to take my old system’s VGA signal and the Dreamcast put it in a VGA switch then split that signal 2 ways, one of them will go through a VGA to component adapter (which is another thing I can’t find at a decent price).

I just received my T-SLG. Thanks Toodles.
