So what are you saying with the EX dive - if it connects low on block the pushback is less? And are you safe/at advantage from this or does it pop you in the air? Do you end up in range for possible mix ups basically? If this is the case, if you can learn the spacing and timing, this could be a very interesting addition.
The ex dive push back is zero only if you hit them at the very end of the arc and they block low. There’s no bounceback you might have the same recovery but its confusing to the other player because they expect you bounce away. Something is definitely different. I’m not sure yet only did it once by accident.
Ex spire into U2 does not work.
That sounds odd. So you think the conditions are: you need to dive at the end of your jump, it needs to hit low and they need to be crouching? I am kind of hoping the crouching bit does not count and its the arc of your jump that counts otherwise you will have no power over this working consistently, unless its Capcoms way of punishing the down back crowd.
Also on the recovery bit, from your info, if the recovery is the same it sounds punishable…unless it gives loads of blockstun?
Sorry for all the questions on this, but this has the potential to be a big improvement for Hawk (I’m not getting too hopeful yet though)
Thanks for all the updates.
further distance dived -> further bounce back?
or
really low bounce arc, so Hawk touches ground right after a “feet block”?
Whatever it is, if we can do it consistently, it sounds good.
I think it’s more like your second question, low bounce arc depending on how high he is from the ground when it connects (on block). I’ve been racking my brain trying to remember, but all I do remember is everyone at FFA going “what?!” and gasping. Didn’t get it on video though…damnit.
I
If it is case number 2 then I’m hoping we can work out a block string that can be followed by instant jump dive that gives the right spacing to hit low, giving us the drop like a stone effect…and if they backdash could it whiff and we have typhoon options? I want new Hawk and training mode time please. Capcom please at least announce when this will be updated. Problem is I cannot see this hitting console anytime soon - they will want to let the arcade owners make some money and there is no way Capcom would update super any time around marvel coming out…might have to wait a while
Ah, I was out really late last night, I’m uploading your tons of videos from FFA right now Lvangundy/Hawk Sauce.
Im totally confused as to what you mean Lvangundy about the EX dive. Is it any good? Is hawk still trash? I really have no idea who I’m gonna play in AE but was leaning towards Cammy/Koomz cause of the Seth changes and hawk might be ass still.
Here is a video of Lvangundy / Hawk Sauce testing stuff.
It’s probably still processing, should be done within like ten minutes.

Hang on a second but what was going on with thrust peak on crouching Cody. Was your mate holding down back? I gonna be disappointed here I’m sure but if that is as it looks you could overhead into ex tomahawk with 2 bars and be safe or cause some serious hurt :-/
Lp spire looks like it pushes your opponent back more.
Whatever this EX dive thing is, it’s looking like a plus. You could 360 after the dive. I’m guessing the recovery is similar to a blocked spire from half distance.
We might see Hawk move up a few spots in the tier list but his hard matchups like Bison and Sim will still be tough. Dunno about Blanka yet.
Seth is still very viable, he can zone well with sonic boom now. OnlineTony still dominates but it takes just a bit longer to win.
Cody blocked command jab low, when i hit him he was not blocking but it seems faster, not sure what do you guys think?
Does anyone know if there is there a height restriction on EX Dive? Can we do instant EX Dives?
I tried instant ex dive and it didn’t work, although again that could have been the lag at Super.
i was watching gundy play when that hawk weird ass ex dive happened. my thinking was that it has to hit near the opponents ankles.
when it did, hawk had zero bounce back. he just landed on the ground as if he had done a deep jump attack or something. it was cool.
i dont think it has anything to do with the height of hawks dive, i think it has to do with where he hits the opponent… like in the ankle area. reason why is cause there are other moves across streetfighter that perform the same way… like in 4 juris divekick wont bounce if she hits with it at a lower portion of the opponents hitbox iirc. i think hawks ex dive works the same way… but i could be mistaken.
anyways though hawk looked to be at some serious plus frames afterwards and he was point blank.

wow no bounce back sounds very cool.
Hey dude, thanks much for chiming in. It’s good to have someone else describe something like this.
I should be able to test this out later today and record some video.
Please do. Sounds like it could be a nice mix up option if we can work a setup and spacing.
OK. Just got home and edited it. T. Hawk’s EX dive can hit and land next to them.

I added slow motion at the end to see the frames. I think he’s neutral or negative (frame experts pls chime in) by only a couple frames.
Dude, crazy.
It is OVER for Blanka / Honda!!! They got nerfed anyway, but LP spire beats Blanka ball clean! No trades LMAO.'
Edit- I think I made a combo with far st. lk. into EX SRK. Was that possible before? I don’t have my PS3 setup to test.
Good to know. Does Spire also beat Honda’s headbutt?
