Since I saw a similar thread like this in the Cody thread, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to create one here also, especially now that we officially know that the first location tests of SSFIV Arcade Version are about to begin.
What is your wishlist of T.Hawk future changes?
Personally I’d like (in some way) some of the following things to change or improve (or stay the same):
Condor dive is fine as it is but I’d prefer If there were any setups that would guarantee a dive crossing up the opponent (on wake up after a specific KD) for an extra mind game from afar.
His Tomahawk (DP) should have more invulnerable frames (even lp and mp DP) and throw invulnerability also.
Condor Spire’s input should change to something easier. It’s not that it’s difficult as it is but it might be better to change into something like reverse hadoken motion input.
It should also stop projectiles, like Rufus’s galactic tornado.
Thrust peak and cr Fierce should be better as AA moves, so they should change the way their hitboxes work and make them more…AA.
Change U2’s motion input into something easier/faster to be done (like 2xd,df,f or reverse) and better hitbox.
I’d definitely like to see a more fitting input for Condor spire (i’d love a forward DP motion + kick as opposed to a reverse dp!) And also a less annoying U2 input as you mentioned, as its pretty much a reflex AA ultra.
Really, the only thing that could use correction IMO on spire’s input is to make it not have to go back to neutral to start the motion. So many times I’ve been walking forward and tried to do it only to have a tomahawk come out, which is annoying as hell and has definitely cost me several matches. Dunno how possible that is considering the way S/SF4 shortcuts and input leniency works, but it’s definitely something I’d like to see happen.
No spire for sure needs to be changed if you want it to not be obvious when you’re buffering to go through a fireball.
Also - another thread ? Jesus christ stop making threads whenever you have a random thought somewhat related to t.hawk. This forum is cluttered with so many useless threads that go nowhere or are similar to another already exsiting thread
Ok listen how it goes.
First of all this thread is different from the others since the others is a list of what players can expect and want from T.Hawk like changes and other stuff.
This thread is made to add here all T.Hawk’s changes from Beta tests of Arcade edition and it’s not a bad thing to have a brand new thread.
Also Gridman i’ve always like your playstyle since i have already see some of your matches (your bro) and Evo match.
Just because you went to Evo and play like the only T.Hawk player, doesn’t mean you are a master of the character since your gameplay style was just ok.
The only prop to that is that i saw at list one T.Hawk player.
So don’t get to cocky pls.Because there are many good T.Hawk players around you.As for me i consider to be one of the best T.Hawk and i know things for this character and his gameplay since Turbo when you haven’t been born yet.
So please try to be a little more grounded to what you ve said from now on.
Agreed. Easier input would be nice. I truly believe when they decided upon the input for it they mistakenly had only stick players in mind. It can be done a pad, but it’s tricky and unreliable(for me anyway) to get it out when I want it, every time. Though a Blanka player I know is firmly against it having a shortcut atleast. His opinion is that would give Hawk too much of an advantage by being able to advance across the screen while crouch blocking and would make fighting him too hard or something. Whether he’s right or not, I’m not sure.
Stopping projectiles? Not against it, but it would be strange to see that in action. He’d pretty much be stuffing fireballs with his face.
That’d be just as worse, if not more so. HCF is just an UF away from a Typhoon shortcut. I’d hate to do an unintentional Typhoon when going for a Spire.
Hopefully, the developers will actually listen to the high-level Japanese players who think Hawk is shit tier and buff him accordingly. I mean, they lump him with Hakan, Dan, and Makoto. You can’t go any lower in their eyes, lol.
Anyhoo, Spire NEEDS to be DP+K or HCB+K. Having to stop moving forwards to pull off a Spire is stupid as hell.
Well in all honesty, there are three “What do you want changed with T.Hawk?” threads on the front page at the moment I’m typing this messege and you didn’t really make it clear that this was a “Post changes that T.Hawk will be receving.” instead of the thread formarly mentioned. Don’t get me wrong, I think he was a little rude in his post, but he still had a point somewhat.
Anyway, with that out of the way I would (and I seriously doubt this will be added) but I’d like LP. CS to go through fireballs and EX. CS to have increased range.
I’d also like the ability to use CD while jumping backwards.
I’m not really thinking to much about how OP/usless those changes would be, their just ideas off the top of my head.

I agree with the range of CS and with CD suggestion.
If CD comes while T.Hawk jumping backwards it may come handy in some things.
Now that i’m thinking some things again i can say that the most serious issues to T.Hawk’s movelist and gameplay are in his DP and his normal anti air moves.
I think they must first correct the hitbox of his anti-air moves like c.Hp and Thrust peak’s.
And more invurnable to his Dp.Atlist Hp Dp.
Some moves can interrupt it and also is throwable.
They must fix these first and i guess the other part is a Hd command input for CS and easier command input to his U2.
Also U2 must connect (at the corner atlist) after EX condor Spire with ofcourse some damage reduction while now T.Hawk is hitting the air.
It’s a pretty hefty blog update and the characters shown on it a considered to be low tier-ish so I’m hoping it’s talking about buffs for the arcade update. It talks about T. Hawk so I used Google Translate but it wasn’t much help. It does seem to talk quite a bit about Tomahawk Buster and Condor Spire…maybe they’re getting buffed?
Edit: Doh! Nevermind. According to Azrael it’s just tips on how to beat the CPU versions of T. Hawk, Guy, Dee Jay, Gen and Dan.
Loc tests happening now. I’ve hard some good news about some of his hardest matchup, but no news on Hawk himself. So far it seems that Blanka balls bounce half the distance away on block, so they may be punishable now. And Honda has had his damage toned down a little. Yay!
