I don’t know why people think religion should be some thing completely untouchable from criticism. You aren’t naturally born in a crazy, nutbar religion. What are you referring to that you think I thought was your opinion? What do you think worship is, and how do you think the symbols are used? I tried to be as honest as possible and gave what might be the exception, but something I think is not the intent of the Eastern Orthodox.
When I said that Christian symbols are considered idols by some, you responded in a way that seemed like you were responding to my opinion, and I just wanted to clarify that I’m not saying it is or it isn’t idolatry; I don’t have an opinion.

You are failing to realize that Americans love having a strong opinion regardless of their knowlege of the subject. They don’t CARE that they know NOTHING about islam, or middle eastern or global politics, they know in their gut that everything is black and white and Americans are the “good guys” and Muslims are the crazy out of control fanatics (I wonder how the planet is still turning with over 1 billion crazed Jihadists…)
