Super Street Fighter IV AE PC BIG BUG THREAD | Post your AE PC issues here

For any sudden slowdown issues, make sure you are running in FULL SCREEN mode, the game is optimized for full screen.

I’m using a 16:10 monitor and the game scales in fullscreen mode (native resolution: 1680x1050), which looks ugly.

In fact I think the games only scaling 2D elements on screen, being more specific the hud.

Any advice on that? Can I somehow play with black bars instead of scaling? Graphics card is a HD4890.

You can try editing the config.ini file, for ASPECT - its in your documents under CAPCOM. I think its auto by default, im not sure all the settings you can type in and save the file, but Vanilla has it listed in the menus. You might be able to type 16:10 in but I would check the vanilla options first.

Hi guys, I just bought a copy of the SSF4:AE PC edition. I installed the game, signed up for windows live and everything is fine. After I verify the CD key and sign in the game prompts me to update but it keeps saying “update failed”. I can’t sign in and only have limited functionality in the game. Help anyone? Sorry if it has been asked before.

I would download/install the newest version of GFWL from here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
then try it again:)

Mine is already the latest version :frowning: still cant get it to work

I would still try and update it, or even uninstall and reinstall GWFL. Also make sure you dont have any ports blocked by firewalls or security programs during the installs/updates.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled in. Still can’t work! I don’t have any ports blocked by firewalls, it keeps giving the error 0X80151903. Anyone know what this is?

Thats a DNS/TCP error for logging in - I would google it to find out more, some network issue

Thanks, do you think reinstalling the game will work ?

Yeah I tried that already, but it doesn’t work the way I want it to. The screen scales up no matter what aspect ratio I set.

i would like to start off by saying hi as this is my first actual post on these forums at all :D. Alright so today i bought ae for my PC to hold me off until i got a new ps3 and everything works fine and smooth until i start a match or battle scene or training or anything of the sort… here is what it looks like after running the benchmark, the background with white box and black strip is what i see

I’m still having the same performance issues. I grabbed some screenshots to show what I’m dealing with. Very occasionally the game runs as it does in the first two screenshots, where performance is excellent. The vast majority of the time however, it runs like the last two screenshots, where the game is unplayable. I must stress: **there was no difference in settings between the first and second set of benchmarks. **They are all from the same session, minutes apart. The rare time I do get good performance, the framerate dips and the game becomes unplayable after a round or two.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. My original post which outlines all the things I’ve tried to fix the game are on page 3.

My issue is that it never saves my input settings for my PS3 HRAP3 stick. Every time I start the game back up, I must reconfigure everything. Gets a bit annoying after a while, as my other controllers retain their individual configurations.

Make sure you guys are always using FULL SCREEN mode, game is optimized for that and you will have less slowdowns.

and turn OFF MSAA unless you have a beast video card. If anything 2xMSAA is plenty, the game isnt very jaggy to start with.

I have also noticed that the game slows down less if you force AA with your drivers instead of in the game. (I am have an Nvidia card)

Is there a way to completely mute the music? It still remains faintly audible even with it turned all the way down.

And is it possible to mute the annoying announcer?

No mute button on your keyboard?

My personal solutions-
I installed and everything ran fine but was slow in online play. I upgraded my video card driver, suddenly the game was slow all around. So it may be that some newer drivers arent compatible with the game (why I dont know) Still had the slow online play, so I did what worked for me when I would play third strike over ggpo- I created a new profile, deleted many of the start up programs within that profile, turned off the aero theme (Im using 64 bit vista), AND what I belive to be the biggest thing- plug the internet cable directly into your computer. Dont use a router. Also I downloaded the d3d overrider to handle vsync and triple buffering. The plus to upgrading video drivers was I got the new control panel (even after the driver roll back) which had an option for high performance.
A few details- HD Radeon 3650, 64 bit vista, 8 gigs of ram, and everything is silky smooth now
