Yeah, new characters as well as confirmation as to who is returning.
At the rate info is being released, I’m beginning to think we won’t see this game until 2008.
It’s been over 2 months since they unveiled the last character. Even if this game has only 26 characters (same number as Melee), at this rate it’ll take a year and a half to unveil them all.
…and that’s assuming they unveil another one soon.
…seriously.
We can only hope they release new info soon, but I agree. If this keeps up then we won’t be seeing it until much later.
Since there’s no news anyway this is taken from the latest issue of Tips & Tricks magazine in an article called “IMHO.” This part of the article asks which character do Tips & Tricks employees Abbie Heppe, Anatole Brown and Pat Reynolds want to see in Brawl.
*"What character from the world of videogaming absolutley MUST be included as a guest star in the forthcoming Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
ABBIE: If they gave me Zero Suit Samus, I’m all set. I think they should ditch Snake, he doesn’t fit in with the feel of the game. Viewtiful Joe would be a lot more appropriate.
ANATOLE: I’d like to see Mega Man blast away opponents with his Mega Buster! Although Mega Man isn’t an official Nintendo character, he has appeared on every Nintendo console since the beginning and deserves to throw his helmet in the ring.
PAT: There are a lot of video-game characters I’d like to put forth here, but speaking realistically I’d have to say Sonic the Hedgehog. As a fan of both the Mario and Sonic games of the early 1990s (when the Super Nintendo and Sega’s Genesis were fierce rivals and their respective mascots were battling it out in fantastic 2-D platformers) I’ve always wanted to see the plumber and the blue blur go head to head." *
Two Capcom characters, yall better recognize! And this has been my annoying Capcom fanboy message of the week.
Now back to my corner to catch up on some sleep while I await for some news on this game…
There are only 3 reasons I think why Brawl could be released in 2008.
1.) Implementing an online match making service for multiplayer.
2.) Trying to rig it to work on the Wii control.
3.) Nintendo is trying to give room for Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3, which I hear have been delayed until mid-late summer to winter 2007.
They already confirmed that you will use the gamecube controller.
^ Source please.
You don’t need a source, it’s pretty much everywhere. The developers already said using the Wiimote would detract from the game.
I see. I thought the Classic Controller would be the official choice for Brawl’s control scheme.
You might be able to use the classic controller, but I haven’t looked at anything about the game besides trailers for a while.
classic controller duhh or gamecube controller, but I think that they’ll want to make some money off of the classic controller thats why its gonna be the official controller for brawl.
I’d definitely rather play the game using the GCN controller over the Wiimote.
I only brought up the Wiimote because, it is the offiical controller that comes packed with the system and it would be a logical reason why Nintendo would delay the game into 2008.
As for assurances that it would work on the GC/Classic controller, this is the same Nintendo that said the Wii version of Zelda would work with both the remote and the GC controller. With the success of Wii, they might decide to focus on it working with the packed in controller rather than say you need to purchase another controller to the new users that just bought a Wii.
In all honesty, I think the collective worldwide rage (even in Japan, where they too often accept developer arrogance) would be too great if they made it Wii-mote only.
There’s no way they’re going to make a Wiimote control scheme, they aren’t dumb enough screw with Smash Bros. Though Nintendo did tear Zelda away from its roots to appeal more to the masses.
I can’t imagine how one would even play the game with a Wiimote, but who knows.
Still waiting for them to announce that Sora has been added to the roster. Link/Sora tagteam for the fucking win!
Maybe they’re adding mini games to Brawl that will allow you to use the Wii-mote…
Why do people think Sora is going to make it in?
Mega Man has been on Nintendo consoles since the NES, and I doubt he’s even going to make it in.
…news plz dammit…
…seriously.
I hope we get no news on it…seriously…the randomness of melee was aweomse, the secret characters, levels, modes, its better that way imo.
knowing too much takes away from the gameplay experience.
