Gotta check out that Famicom Detective Club
…seriously.
If they’re going to put a Pokemon, I’d say put Deoxys. Make it so that he can switch to all of his forms, and each form has different moves and such (meaning we could have a Smash character with the amount of depth that May Lee/Angel have). Also, he IS a legendary, and he has a movie based on himself. I don’t think Blaziken or Heraross are popular enough to warrant consideration.
Hmmm… they need to put some of bowser’s kids in this motherfucker…
And waluigi as well…
Gah. Not another Psychic pokemon. The problem with another legendary in IMO, is that at least half of them are Psychic, and at least most of the bipedal ones are Psychic. In fact, the only bipedal ones that I can think off-hand that aren’t Psychic are the Regis. That may not be a problem for you, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to want a Fighting type Pokemon in the closest thing that Nintendo has to a fighting game.
As for your request, it’s interesting, but quite unreasonable and likely to be “broken”/top-tier; May Lee and Angel are also quite broken and have overkill with amount of moves they have, which cover everything and more. Also, I’m somewhat positive that Blaziken and Heracross are more popular in Japan than Deoxys; I hated that movie, but then again, I didn’t like any of the movies besides the first one with Mewtwo.
Speaking of Mewtwo, they had better “fix” him if they don’t take him out. At the very least, they have to fix “Confusion” not actually reflecting anything back at people.
If they have pokemon the better put in hitmonchan and hitmonlee…
The greatest pokemon in existence…
Other than my level 99 golem…
diddy kong??
*"Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed the following names to appear in Nintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl via interview with Tokyo’s popular “The Gaming Exchange” radio show:
New Faces:
KOOPA KID (BOWSER JR),
RIDLEY,
WIND WAKER LINK
Removed Faces:
ICE CLIMBERS,
MR. GAME & WATCH,
YOUNG LINK
Sakurai also confirmed that the existing “clones” from SSBM will be reworked as entirely seperate characters (Contradicting what we said earlier). One should also note that Young Link isn’t being replaced entirely, rather simply replaced with the cel-shaded Link from Wind Waker. His name on the selection screen will still read “Young Link”. Sakurai stated Game & Watch and the Ice Climbers will be removed due to the lack of general fan interest and that he decided to include Kid Icarus’ Pit as a replacement to the Ice Climbers for those old school fans of the NES. He mentioned Pit will likely be the only classic character included. Sakurai did not mention wether Ridley would be in his original form or his new “Meta-Ridley” form from Metroid Prime. Also of importance is the fact that, according to Sakurai, the roster will be “between 30 and 40”, leaving room for about 15 newcomers or so. In addition, there will be only be “one or two more” 3rd party characters."
*
And I’m fucking calling it. Ridley will be top 3.
source?
…seriously.
A 4channer and wikipedia. Both far from concrete.
Heh Mini-ridley is gonna be the cutest thing evar!!
well… only possibly when Kirby eats and transforms into Kirdley!!
Hmm interesting find Shade…hopefully this is true, and Meta-Ridley would kick ass!
Koopa Kid. Yes Bitches. Im Crunk Son. Brawl will be my ass whoopin playground. all those who said Bowser was trash is gonna get seriously fucked with now. Now he has speed now, and maybe less lag. Arash and Gimpyfish will have a fucking field day.
**its sad to here the ice climbers are gone because they where a really unique character that i beleive a lot of people really like. oh well and besides sonic who is most likely to be the second third party character, who will be the next?
ABASI!**
Hmm, it just occurred to me, why don’t they put the guy from Excitebike, with bike in? XD
Have we all forgotten about PAPERBOY?
Heh, Paperboy was on Captain N…
Oh yeah, Little Mac also appeared on Captain N. There was an episode where they got their hands on a genie in a lamp and King Hippo wished for his own boxing ring, something like that. There were posters with Little Mac all over the place, they said things like “Kid Shmoe” and “Kid Dud” but pictured Little Mac. He was also in the cartoon’s intro, with live action Kevin Keene playing Mike Tyson’s Punch Out.
Dragon Chan might of appeared on the show too. There was an episode where they showed King Hippo surrounded by all of the boxers of the game. But they all were drawn in the Captain N weirdo style so it was tricky to pick out people, Bald Bull looked kind of like a real Bull and so on.

There’s been a lot of confusion about this recently, so I decided to get to the bottom of this myself. I emailed Nintendo about it. The first time I emailed them, the guy who answered did not understand my question, so I replied back:
"That wasn’t really my question. All we want to know is who the Super
Mario RPG characters are currently owned by. I’m not asking for any
secret information.
Thanks again."
He responded with:
"Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,
Sorry that our response was not clear. The characters in the Super Smash Bros game are not all the property of Nintendo. They generally remain the property of the company that originally created them. While Geno and Mallow originally appeared in a game that was marketed by Nintendo, the title was designed and programmed by Square Soft. Geno and Mallow would still remain as the intellectual property of Square-Enix (the current name). Unfortunately, we have not heard any information that would support any rumors of Nintendo acquiring these characters.
Thanks for your email and good luck with all your games!
Nintendo of America Inc."
LOSTARTOFROCK: Just thought people here would like to know this as well.
I was clueless as to the fact that Geno was the “intellectual property” of Square-Enix.
Technically, that would also make Geno a third-party suggestion, correct?
Any future lists will reflect this new information.
Just like you sano, to stay on top of the game. Good shit. This should shut up all the 10 year old guppies who want that wooden prick in the game.
B O O - U R N S!!!1!!!11!!!
I mentioned Paperboy ages ago. His wavdash would be so cool with the bike bell ringing everytime he does it. Any his projectile spam would be unbeatable!:bgrin:
No Ice Climbers BOO!!! One of the most original fighting game characters ever conceived!
I wonder if they’ll make Ridley to scale or what? RAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
The Damned: lol Jigglypuff is very VERY good in Melee, second tier to be precise. Jigglypuff is like Sentinel from MVC2, free roaming and all about pressure.
Don’t believe me? See The King in action: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8956668495393958494
Scizor is my favorite pokemon, I think it’s Nintendo’s most original “cool” design. Not only that, but in Pokemon Stadium 2 (N64) when you defeat him he doesn’t fall down like regular pokemon he just kneels on one knee and lowers his head when he returns to his pokeball like a TRUE WARRIOR!!!:nunchuck:
Kirby was a beast in SSB64 and Hal knew it so they decided to tone him down heavily… so heavily that they made him as lukewarm as formula in a baby’s bottle, in other words, utter crap.
Thanks for the compliment for my AV, it JUST made it under the size requirement. It’s from the sound test mode in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.:pleased:
Lastly, another thing SSBM lack that needs to be in the game: EMOTIONS!
In SSB64 Kirby looked like a mean mutha***** when he did his forward smash, in Melee he looks like a souless, inept character kicking to some faraway [Dream]land. Yoshi in 64 when he does his infamous Akuma Pose:karate: has the attitude to match it up, in Melee however, he looks like some wide-eyed lizard having a seizure fit from excitement of winning etc…
Yes I know these aren’t necessary to make a good game but these minor touches adds life and enhances the overall aesthetic making it more pleasing whether you win or lose.
The Japanese Poll ends June 9th, this Friday. Only one more week of crazy suggestions…
And yet Geno had a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
Methinks NOA is confused. Anyway, I don’t buy that “removing ice climbers/putting in koopa kid” thing. I’m waiting to see it on a credible source. That whole removing ice climbers thing seems a bit fishy to me (not to mention the fact that there’s no way Sakurai would drop 3 new characters like that)
…seriously.
