Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii are very amused

OMG!!! I can’t believe I left out the most important thing I want in S2B2!!! Character Intros like in the 64 Version!!! I was so disappointed when SSBM didn’t have them.

I don’t think Wario is unpopular,it’s just he came out in the same breath as characters like Pit and Snake.I personally think he’s perfect for Smash, and should’ve been included sooner.

“HAVE A ROTTEN DAY”

Snake…SNAAAAAAKE!!

When do u guys think the game will be out? I heard around 2007 holidays, which would be very dissapointing…

If I were to take a guess when the game will come out they will prolly have a playable version at next years E3/spring 2007 or at TGS/fall 2007. So in and around there, possibly winter 2007 the game will be out. Nintendo usually rolls like that with their big games. But disregarding that, it depends on how many new characters they are going to toss in, if it’s a hell of a lot it might come out early/spring 2008 and be delayed a bit. That’s just a guestimate on my part though. It’s been announced for 2007 so you really shouldn’t expect it in 2006.

Special thanks again to LostArtofRock! He was kind enough to remove the Colonel of MGS3 from the list per me urging him to do so sine the Colonel wasn’t really requested. And thanks to the Smashboards too. Captain N fans rejoice! Eggplant Wizard has been requested!

Magnus (Quest) (Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen - 1993)
Thomas the Kung-Fu Master (Irem) (Spartan X [Kung-Fu in the U.S.] - 1985)

P.S. The title in parenthesis is usually the game in which the suggested character first appeared on a system distributed by Nintendo (portable or stationary).

Seeing as how there still trying to choose what characters are going to make it into the final cut…Its going to be awhile before this is out.

Well, ideally, hopefully the gmae engine itself will be closer to completion by the end of this year, making it so that it will just be a manner of putting characters into the game, and then balancing them all out.

Or at least…that’s what I would hope.

Any way…I smile at seeing Jeff (Mother 2/ Earthbound) added to the list. Bottle Rockets and Bombs FTW! Ridley, Wolf, Magnus and Thomas the Kung Fu Master are good additions, as well (especially Tom…I could easily imagine an Event Battle starring Tom vs. Lil Mac for the title of the 8bit Champ)!

But then there are also some “WTF” entries here too…Lupus from Jet Force Gemini? Sora? How do these guys make the list? Diddy Kong deserves precedence over any other Rare-made character in my eyes…yes, even Krystal. And Sora? I could think of so many other Square Enix personalities that are more worthy than perhaps this guy…Sabin/Mash? Edgar? Terra? Crono? Magus? Go with characters that actually made a real splash…I say…

I don’t know where to find the info, and I don’t know if it’s 100% true (or if it’s been said already), but Sakurai supposedly confirmed in a “The Gaming Exchange” interview a few characters that will be added and removed:

Added: Koopa Kid (probably Baby Bowser), Ridley, Wind Waker Link
Removed: Young Link, Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch

Also, he supposedly said that the roster will be around 30-40 characters, and that some of the clones are going to be completely reworked (thank God!). If anyone can find the actual interview, go on ahead.

Some of those things he said on the Comment board. He said the clones will be reworked. He eluded though that the roster would be about the same size as the previous game, which had 26 so most estimated around 30 or so. He also said not everyone is returning. He didn’t say anything about what new characters would be added and who would be removed, that’s specific to the interview you’re talking about.

I suppose that’s “good” to hear, if only in that it says that the developers haven’t decided on who is in and who is out. Personally, despite all the hate that the Ice Climbers get, it seems utterly retarded that the developers would take out the only characters that not only are the sole representatives of the game they come from, but have a unique play-style. (Of course, the latter most likely gets negated if Lololo and Lalala are added from Kirby. It’d be funny if they added Sun and Moon from Kirby instead though.)

Who I think will actually get removed, I think clone-wise, Pichu and Young Link are utterly doomed. Additionally, Dr. Mario, as much as I like him, should go because at least of a fifth of the characters from some Mario game and one of them shouldn’t be a clone of one the many characters that still haven’t been represented from this franchise. This goes doubly so if your information is correct about the roster being close to the same in number, meaning probably less than 35.

Outside of the clones, roninwarrior does make me think that it’s possible that Game N’ Watch is most likely to be dropped; I’d laughed if he instead came back better animated. With the lack of any new Pokemon being asked for in new characters, which annoys me and reminds me that I still have to write in to Sakurai, I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if Mewtwo and Jigglypuff were dropped as well.

Other that than, maybe regular Samus, but that doesn’t make sense given that comment that you also posted, sano, about Sakurai saying that didn’t have “enough” female characters as it is. The only way that comment would make sense and allow them to take out regular Samus was if they have more female characters that are definitely going to make it the game-in mind.

Since the clone-reworking thing has thankfully been announced, I see Falco, Roy, and Ganondorf definitely staying in. At the very least, Ganondorf is safe, because, even if Captain Falco gets removed as a few have said, the developers have that whole Ganondorf-to-Ganon thing to work with.

Now if only we get Heracross or Blaziken at least suggested, I’d be sated until this came out.

P.S. Oh, and you meant “alluded” instead of “eluded”, right?

Homonym EDIT: Oh, the irony of typing “good to here”.

Actualy, Smash Bros. Dojo said that zero suit samus will be a mode, kinda like zelda/sheik.
Link:http://www.smashbros.com/en/characters/chara3/index.html

I wonder what is mean by “Under certain conditions.”

Is that a fancy way of saying "Transform whenever you want, ala Zelda/Shiek?"
or is there actually some condition from turning Samus into Zero-Suit Samus / vice versa.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the link.

I forgot that I already knew that regular Samus was already said to be guaranteed to be in it.

While I too wonder about what the “certain conditions” are, this intrigued me even more:

Hmm…that makes me think it’s not as much as “super” as it is a special, one that’s like Luigi’s f+B…except without that annoying “misfiring” as far as I can tell from this text.

Um…Kingdom Hearts is MAD popular in Japan. And because of the unique style of KH, Sora seems like a perfect fit for SSBB in my opinion…much more so than any FFVI character. Now CT I could kinda see, but oh well.

Moreover, I don’t think FFVI is the “godly” game it is considered to be in the US over in Japan. To my knowledge many Japanese are huge fans of the PSX-era FF games, especially FFVII. So if any FF characters get in, expect everybody’s favorites to make an appearance…

Cloud and Seph.

But in actuality, I’d prefer no FF guys. Sora’s just fine and dandy.

Damned - Mee spelink aam sukk sumtimz… so much so I don’t know if I said it the right way or the wrong way… I meant Sakurai hinted at…

Cloud and Sephiroth - Prolly not. Seph has never appeared on a Nintendo console ever, so even if the fanboys vote for him he won’t be considered. Cloud had a cameo in Kingdom Hearts Chain of memories, but I don’t think that’s enough for an appearance in this game. But at least Cloud has a small window’s chance, Sephiroth doesn’t.

Sora to me fits perfectly in this game if you ask me, if we can’t get Captain N at least Sora can best represent the aspect of traveling to different worlds and fighting people of other worlds, like he does in his games, and even tourney style going after the Hades Cup.

I am thinking it is either like in the Trailer after performing her Super Beam, or after taking a certain amount of damage, like 100%.

Mewtwo could be dropped but Jigglypuff is standard (and is based off the Pokemon anime Jiggs) and is actually quite popular in Japan. Mr.Shine & Mr.Bright don’t really have a diversity of attacks so it’s hard to imagine them being in the game, especially without legs. (Lololo & Lalala too)

I hope Nintendo wisens up and put some of the “power” elements of Doc into regular Mario, otherwise Mario will be dwarfed once again by people who can KO effectively, and I’m sure this game will be filled with good KOers.

Blaziken is very popular and Heracross is popular (tier wise :razzy:) so maybe? Scizor is what I want to play with though.

I hope Kirby get back up on his throne once again… SPIKE!:lovin:

P.S. The title in parenthesis is usually the game in which the suggested character first appeared on a system distributed by Nintendo (portable or stationary).

Just in case you don’t already know, Spartan X is the Japanese title for the HK movie Wheels on Meals, starring Jackie Chan. The Thomas in the game is the same as the Thomas from the movie. … Meaning it would be a very random character addition.

On a side note, make sure to check Wheels on Meals out. It was part of the Chan/Hung/Biao triumverate’s movies, so it’s pretty fun.

Also, everyone go play Famicom Detective Club. There’s a translated rom available for the SNES remake, so scope that out.

Seconded.

As I thought, you meant “alluded”, as in “allusion”; “eluded” means “evaded” for the most part.

I know that Purin, the Jigglypuff in the Smash Brother’s series is based off the (often horrid) anime; it’s kind of obvious when Pikachu has an alternate costume/color with Ash’s hat on. However, I’m assuming that you means it’s popular as a Pokemon and not a fighter in either of the games, since I’ve never seen videos of it used. While it has some useful stuff, like the inability to be KO’d horizontally if not immediately knocked out because of “infinite” f+Bs, it’s really weak; it’s also the only thing in the entirety of SSBM that automatically gets KO’d if it’s shield is destroyed.

As for the Mario think, I can’t say, since I don’t play with anyone else. He’s mostly fun to use because of his cape attack (and the inability to deflect anything as easily [or as intentionally] with the shield like the computer).

I never understood Blaziken’s popularity, but I think that AlphaDragoon2 alluded to the same thing earlier when he talked about him. As for Heracross being OU, yeah, I know, especially since I’ve become an OU whore as of late. That reminds me, I have to bump the Pokemon thread, especially since I never answered your question.

May I ask why you want to play with Scizors though? :razzy: I personally don’t think that any of the Pokemon that have been in Poke Balls have much of a chance of getting in, which is why I’m going to bother asking for Hitmonleee anymore. Hell, I think Miltank has a better chance of getting in than Scizors because of this, but then again, Miltank is like, what, borderline? So it’s semi-popular and it would be quite fun to play with a cow. (Though I don’t know how it would throw, given that it’s one of the few bipedal Pokemon that doesn’t have hands…or does it?)

I’d be cool with Scizor though, I just doubt it (or any new Pokemon apparently) will get in at this point. I really have to write to Mr. Sakurai tonight.

As for Kirby, hell yes. He used to be quite good in SSB, though I obviously don’t have to tell you that. Someone said that he seemed heavier, so wonder if that means anything else besides him being difficult to KO. At the very least, the need to fix his throws being so damned easier to escape, especially since only person’s whose throws can really be “escaped” from are Donkey Kong’s; what I wouldn’t give to be able to escape Peach’s forward throw before she bitch-slaps me across the screen, but no…

P.S. Your new avatar is sickeningly cute.
