Super Mario Maker 2 Thread: No Hot Garbage Allowed! You

Any capacitive stylus will work, one with a rubbery or fibrous tip. I got this one with a clear disc on the end for more precision and it works great. Comes with a few extra tips, too.

Shovel Knight dev made a level.

Looks pretty easy, honestly.

Oh, @chadouken I forgot to say thanks for recommending the stylus that you did. That sucker is AWESOME!

Alpharad suffers on a T2 themed level.

Man, I’d LOVE to make a level that difficult but I would cry salty, salty tears because I would struggle to beat it for uploading. And there is no way I would make some “back door” shortcut just to upload it. That crap irks me to no end.

Yeah that level is sick. The clear pipe stuff is great. There’s people that have made juggling levels using them, it’s awesome stuff.

Edit: also, it’s not a T2 themed level, it’s just a random name lol. That creator names all his levels after movies

Some of these changes I became aware of while making levels, others, I had no clue.

Oh and I finished story mode. That staff roll was so good, I sat through it twice!

Had to have Lugi clear 2 levels but so far so good.

Jesus…H…Panga has skill!!

As far as that level…
Nope. Nope.
I don’t want any of that!!

How do you even come up with that level? I mean wtf? You have to have major skills to even be able to make something like that, let alone finish it.

That’s him doing the clear to upload his own level. Dude has been playing and creating mario hacks for many years, even before MM1 existed.

Yeah I saw that he made it. But I’m saying I think it takes more skills to make that level than it does to finish it.

Yeah for sure it does.

Upped a new course.

I still feel like a novice when working with the 3D World style but I really do like all the stuff you can do with it. I wanna take a stab at a vertical level soon.

Word, I just added it to the first post. I’ve been working on a short, vertical speed run level myself. Should have it up tomorrow maybe.

I’ll check your new level out tomorrow after work.

A patch/update for SMM2 came out last night or early this morning. Level upload cap raised from 32 to 64 is the biggest change

I just finished a pretty tough level that took me like 12 minutes total.

Ok, here it is y’all! I give you:

This level is pretty tough, and it’ll probably take a few tries, but it’s mad fun with the claw mechanics. It’s a speed-run, and a little unforgiving if you mess up. But it’s short, and I think it’s fair. Let me know what you think if you try it.

@ReggieH dude, that Super Jumpman level is dope. Took me a few tries but I got it!

I just completed your level. The second half is tough as shit. I feel some of the timing is a bit off at the beginning. Also not being able to see what is up above you makes it really tough. I probably died like 25 or so times, if not more.

It’s a fun challenging level though.

Yeah the timing at the beginning is tight. You basically have to do a neutral jump off the red koopa. I intentionally left it like that to prime players for the main part of the level. If you can make it to that first pipe, you should be able to complete it.

Glad you beat it! I was worried some of the blind jumps may be a problem and that’s why I overloaded with arrows. I tried to add auto scroll to fix some of that, but it screwed up the timing of the platforms and I didn’t feel like rebuilding it so I just went with it, because it IS fun jumping up that shit so fast, lol. Thanks for playing it!
