Decided to make a simple course messing around with the SMB2 Mushroom. I find that starting out simple can help me get a feel for new tools in this game. I spent way more time on this level than I thought I would. As I worked on, I got all kids of ideas for future courses.
So this course is heavily inspired from SMB2. Birdo even appears as a boss at the end. Sort of.
It’s a standard SMB1 level, nothing too crazy. There are a lot of opportunities for 1Ups though.
Does anyone know if the number of 1Ups is still capped at 3 per level when playing a Super World, and if you lose them by dying and not completing the level you’re playing?
I’m hoping I can stack good opportunities to get them throughout my Super World.
Also, I’m going to try as much as possible to make all my levels Speedrunnable. Even if they appear like a standard level, I like to create an optimized route you can run through.
Sorry for the double post, but this is new information.
So I answered my own question playing around with World Maker. Extra lives keep adding up within any level- we’re not restricted to just three like in the Endless playlist. So that’s awesome!
I always loved finding infinite 1Up tricks in SMB3, and especially SMW. The only thing is with Super Worlds in Mario Maker, once you beat a level in a Super World, it doesn’t appear you can play it again. Think SMB3, not SMW.
This is a little bit of a bummer, but not a huge deal. I hope if there is ever a Mario Maker 3 (or another minor update) they add in secret exits and make levels replayable. Would be so dope!
Made a new level…intended to be the boss level for the first level of my Super World.
Its something for novices (aka…1st time Mario players, or young kids) and people trying to play through a traditional-ish SMB3 level.
UPDATE:
Another level down. This one maybe my world 1-1 or 1-2.
Grassland Pipes! Course ID: 52G-SV3-01G
SHORT SMB3 level 1 stage. Take note of pipes with red koopas & coins.

Also, I have got to get used to space given for the main worlds.
since Animal Crossing is starting to get bland with me. (I mena once you get 5 stars…now what?) I may finally get back into actually making a few stages. Trying to recreate and update all of mine from Wii U:
