Jo chen - is a girl ? hmnn maybe youre right SFMC, anyways Jo’s a Person that can Draw …damn…my bad then.i guess i was fooled at the comic convention with the agressive line style yet- soft works of his/hers…
thanks for the Comments though guys…
Hey SFMC, I skimmed through afew of your sketches too very nice work dude-…your style too reminds me of a guy I went to school with -( hes in the indusry somewhere now I think) Keep up the great sketches man.
cool stuff people, and welcome to new people, always great to see other people’s work, and no matter who u are everyone has a different style, i like that ehehe
i don’t have anything to post been so busy with school, working on storyboards and after effects, 3dmax, and background/layout crap :bluu: i think i’m gonna died soon…he he
ZenMasterZ, I don’t know how you relate my work to gureiduson’s. Issit really similar? Heh I dunno. I’ll say this though, and I’m not lying… but gureiduson… that sketch totally blows me away. It’s like you read my mind and took all the ingredients to make a drawing that is really to my liking. The flow of motion, and gestures… hot damn… the perspective… and those lips. I love big lips in a drawing (if drawn right, of course). It is like your style is like what I want mine to be in the future.
Aruno_aka_alex nice sketch. Is that really mouse work? Looks a little like pencil. You should post some of your pencil sketches then we can really see your style.
Oh and congratulations ZenMasterZ. By making this thread alone, you really did attract quite a number of newcomers here.
Wow, how many compliments Mr.Twelve, and I’m pleased to met you. Can you show me some drawning of you? I wanna see how similar we are.
And Aruno_aka_alex, if tablet/mouse, still incredible. Very nice!
I don’t know I can post a color picture here, I was thinked is allowed just Black-white. That my drawning are colored, so, dont matter now, I’m re-posting here, in color. I try simulate the style color of the Street Fight 3 -New generation-, just because I’m whitout time when I done.
jal: ur skills never seizes to amaze me (and thats after seeing only two of ur pix). do you use the gradient tool to get the effects like the smooth coloring on hinata’s hair (i think that’s her name)? btw, what happend to her other two fingers? what i really really like about this picture are all the nice soft highlights you did. also, a good job on the clothing.
twelve: i couldnt agree more–this site has brought out so many great fan artists.
aruno: keep em comin’ great pics.
gureiduson: wow! you really got the classic sf3 coloring down on this peice! very original poses too. the reason i said that your work resembles twelve’s is because you two intentionally make deformities in your characters. but unlike most of the ppl on srk, you guys can make it work. congrats on the really cool style!
honestly dudes…I must have argued about half an hour with a friend of mine online about art styles in general, Shinkiro is nice stuff but with a comparison of the two covers- Shinkiro’s Artwork looks like Cosplay…
ITs awesome dont get me wrong, but dosent have that DYNAMIC feel to it as the Alvin Lees Cover on the right, both covers have guile about to throw a Sonic Boom-
while the SHINKIRO’S realistic airbrush GUILE looks nice but its very Stiff :(…eg: Guiles Hair - Man, The Deep Black Outiine really makes his characters look flat too-It really takes away from the pic IMHO.
Alvin Lee’s Guile captures the true action of a Sonic boom and is More Convincing at the same time keeping a fair amount of detail in there . Sorry to Rant dudes, its another thread altogether, and it all comes down to a variety of styles.
Ah you are correct ZenMasterZ. To be honest, most of my past works don’t have that kind of deformities… but in all seriousness, that’s the kind of style that is realy close to my preference and currently trying to pursue. I guess you get the idea of my drawings from my previous sketches in this thread (Guile n Oro). Yeah those are fast tablet sketches… total expressionism man. So I guess you can really see my style shine there heh. (Compared to my usual old ‘over-analytical’ ones).
gureiduson can you attach your pics? I can’t view your website coz my connection sucks.
I ran through my old drawings… and here’s the closest I have to your style heh.
yes good pic twelve. not up to the par with some of the quickies you did earlier. really like that style (guile, oro, cammy) a lot more.
the face on lord raptor needs a lot of work. and while the pose is dynamic, some of the shapes (partcularly on the arms and raptor’s legs) need a lot of improvement. you said you did this pic earlier so i dont wanna chew you out too much for an old pic.
Hi Mr.Twelve, I’ve seem your website, and you drawning very very nice, really good! So, about my images, I’ll put the links here. I’ll put just those as have some character of street to dont go out of subject, ok.
yes, very good stuff guys. really cool images gureiduson, thanks for the link. i wasnt too crazy about shinkiro’s work either. i think he is overrated. i prefer the other capcom artists, especially from 3rd strike, the alphas, or from ex2. his art reminds me of that gay snk art–very “stiff” indeed.
alvin lee on the other hand is probably the best artist the comic series has. while he is not at par with other capcom artists, he certainly captures the look and feel of the characters.
this pic isnt really a sketch, its just something i did on photoshop–its a cg-sketch if you will. i was just experimenting. tell me what you think and how i can improve on it.
Quite good Zen, I like it, it looks great to me- i guess it has to do with wanting to make your clouds look realistic or cartoony or somewhere inbetweenwhich ever suits your style IMHO…I wish i could give you a better critique--------
Ive yet to invest in something to colour my drawings let alone sketches, I have windows XP though can you reccomend a program that i would use for colour?..Photoshop is the main one that everyone uses? im assuming that is the best one?
Ps: off topic does anyone ever wonder whatever happened to ROB Liefeld? (I wasnt a fan of his )its just been so long since ive heard his name…maybe he just faded away.
gunstar: i think you should use photoshop, which is what i use. many of the other people on this forum who use drawing tablets usually like to color with corel painter. i have another friend who has illustrator. all of them are good depending what you really want. right now i am looking for a good tablet so i can really do a better job on cg pics.
hitshiro: i agree with u on that. one of the biggest problems with my image is that it is way to blurry. i am practicing how to draw clouds for an “official” (not really) picture that i am doing.
thanks, but what i am actually looking for is specific advice on using photoshop so that i may improve on the picture.
