This review has no info at all when it comes to input delay vs a CRT. All he is referring to in the review is repose time and very poorly I might add.
Check TFTCentrals review he always covers response time (with pictures demoing how much ghosting a monitor has) and input delay (vs a CRT).
Hmm, just because the input lag is the lowest they have tested to date does not mean that it is incorrect. If you are going to cast doubt on the reviews they do than you should buy post your own results or find another review that actually does input lag testing vs a CRT who have tested the monitor too so we can confirm if the results are correct or if a mistake has been made.
All I know that I purchased my most recent monitor using their reviews and it served me well. My own input lag testing on the LG IPS231P found it to have almost the same amount of input lag as they reported in their review.
I’m sure as more people on SRK buy the Dell U2312HM they will report back with their findings.
Hdmi can go over 60hz, HDMI is just a cable which carries data no different to dvi and dvi has been doing 120hz since the days of crt. Console games though are either 30fps or 60, that’s what the developers code them to run at. 120hz is best for PC gaming with Vsync off.
I’m glad this thread was made. The other thread was filled with people saying they’d do tests and never following through and others who kept talking about how their TV/monitor feels lagless. The fact that verified displays are being added to the first post is the icing on the cake. I’ve been searching for some time so if anyone has a model that meets my criteria let me know. I want a 32" TV with minimal lag. A TV that is still easily accessible in the US.
Just so I get this right because things tend to fly over my head a lot lol, I shouldnt bother buying a 120hz monitor if its strictly for console gaming? Thanks for the help
Would a 120hz screen cut down on potential motion blur or is that totally a function of response time? In any case, last time Iooked into this 120hz screen seemed to add additional input lag. Is that still the case nowadays?
Would 3D capability affect input lag? The reason I ask is because my favorite monitor (alienware optx AW2310 aka other Evo monitor) has been discontinued and i want to get another monitor like this one. the new version has 3D and adds 120Hz. it also says that it has low input in DVI mode only. wouldn’t the low input be the same with HDMI connection? Sorry for the noob question, not tech savvy at all.
Are the tests that Digital Versus does accurate? For some reason their numbers on all of the monitors I look at for input lag are higher or sometimes considerably higher than what is listed on the first post of this “database”
also I dont necessarily care too much about fighting game lag(I barely play anything now). just wondering if a 27" monitor is good for everyday computer use? dont wanna lose my eye sight or something…
figured 27" 1080p HD cant be so bad. right now I am on a samsung 1680x1050. this monitor is ok and all but its been 3 years. time for an upgrade. since I got a profound badness computer now(lol)
