I second that. I think SaveFighting has done a super job!
Was hoping that there would be more information on the Dell S2330MX. It seems to completely outclass the VH236H in every aspect other than not having speakers, but no one seems to own it.
Do you guys know if screen size also effects input delay? I recommended Panasonic TX-P50ST50B(TC-P50ST50) to my friend and he’s wondering if he’ll be getting the same low input delay with the 55" inch version (TC-P55ST50) of the screen.
Hi guys. I have a nice hdtv with low input lag but I am going to Japan soon for work, and I need to buy a monitor for gaming while I am there. I read here that the Asus VH238H is a good one, but searching for it on Amazon japan yielded only the VS238H:
I want to ask if it’s the same or comparable in terms of input lag, in case anyone here knows.
Well I assumed this was outdated since I dont see any 2012 monitors listed
and I found quite a LOAD of sub 10Ms input+response 2012 monitors on Prad and Im wondering why they aren’t listed on the front page.
I actually JUST bought the **Dell S2330MX **monitor and it arrived yesterday.
I dont exactly know how to test the input lag though
everyone says to put 2 monitors on clone mode but I see no difference at all.
when I take a picture it comes out to be THE EXACT same numbers on the counter.
I played a bit of halo on it and I was doing alot worse than I did on my 9.0 ms lag monitor that I have
I dont exactly know if my mind is playing tricks on me or if im just too used to playing on the 9 ms delay, so until I find out how to test the lag I cant give you an exact opinion on it.
If you know how to test monitors for lag I would appreciate it if you could tell me how since duplicating both screens literally does nothing and the clock test comes out to be the exact same on both screens
If you used a CRT and both showed the exact same numbers (supose you are including the miliseconds) something is wrong with your testing.
What you have to do is, clone the monitor using a CRT monitor, and start the clock. With the clock running you take the picture of both monitors, in the same photo. So the faster monitor always will have the highest value on the clock.
Also turn off windows Aero theme if using this method. Otherwise one monitor will be using vsync, and one won’t, and it’ll throw off your readings.

Fucking 32" 1080p with sub 1 frame lag. I have no idea why it’s so hard to find, and why the ones that exist get discontinued so quickly. I saw a few posted on a site promoting good gaming TV’s of 2011-2012 and they were all discontinued.
I’m tempted to just make a thread in the trading post of SRK asking that someone sell me theirs. This is ridiculous.
I didnt use a Crt monitor
But I hooked a duplicate display to another monitor from my laptop
And The atomic milliseccond clock always showed up as the same numbers when I shot the picture.
I even brought in and hooked up a super laggy old 19" LCD TV and it still showed up as the same millisecconds
I dont understand what I am doing wrong, I dont have a crt but still there should be some difference between my laptop monitor when compared to a super laggy old LCD TV that has literally 30+ ms lag
Yeah this whole process is a huge pain in the ass. I wish manufacturers would just include this information with the TVs they sell. Would it be that hard to create a “gamer line” of ultra low input lag TVs? If we can do accurate testing in our own homes, without fancy R&D departments, surely Sharp, Samsung, LG, Sony, et al can do extensive panel testing. Granted, I’m somewhat involved in product development for a tech company, and I understand that the focus is mainly on price, but come on… is it that hard? If you build it, we will come.
Take a look at the first post of this thread. There are user reviews there (including one of my own) that might help you a bit.
For the most part all of the screens you’ll see in the OP were tested by the community. Unless you want to throw a fuck load of money at tech talk so they can do the testing, do not bitch about the info we have. It isn’t outdated, this place isn’t Consumer Reports.
What’s Prad?
Also, I would seriously consider getting a low lag computer monitor if I were you. If you don’t need it to be absolutely huge, the tested monitors have really low lag, are cheaper than some TVs, and stay in production for a lot longer than your average HDTV.
Yeah. Every single 32" there is either out of production or is a UK only thing. And all the reviews I see are tantamount to “Seems sub 1 frame” or “It’s probably sub 1 frame.” No real data/proof. I’ve searched AVSforums, Google, SRK, all to no avail.
The gaming industry is fucking huge right now. You’d think input lag would be a consideration and marketing tool for these companies. Sucks for me that it’s not.
Flame bait is strictly against the rules because I can tell you might be doing so soon.
Also who are you?
Telling others not to bitch about the info “we” have?
Do you even know what Bitching means? It means excessively complaining.
If someone where Bitching about the thread it would look something like this
"Wow seriously? this thread is so outdated you barley have any monitors there SO many new ones This sucks."
Learn what Bitchingmeans before you childishly accuse others of being one, the only one complaining here is you, complaining about other people when nobody even knows who you are.
You also refer to the info as “WE” or “OUR info” Please explain.
Most if not all of the numbers you got for total latency are taken off prad and versus only very few are user tested on this form are you going to seriously trying to claim other peoples work for yourself? Really now?
Also What I was originally saying before I was rudely interupted by some random, was that I found almost 15+ new 2012 monitors that have 3 - 10 total latency lag.
I am simply wondering how often you update this since I do not see a single 2012 monitor listed on the front page.
And all the ones I found by searching on my own are mostly 2012 and none of them are listed.
Nobody here is complaining, the only one complaining is Pertho, I am simply asking whether this is updated or not, and if it is, why is there literally no 2012 monitor listed when there’s plenty to be found on legitimate testing sites.
edit: this post was Mod edited because here on SRK, we don’t censor words like bitch.
Among gamers how many even know or care about input lag though. Even within the FGC there are tons of people that know precious little about input lag to begin.
if you have links to prad tests showing 3-10ms lag monitors, please link them instead of asking why they’re not here
Yo, you need to chill the fuck out. Pertho didn’t accuse you of anything. Calm down.
The Iiyama HD monitors are excellent for 3d fighters. Plug ‘n’ play HDMI with Xbox. Just flip the console to HD, and put the screen in game mode. 2ms, super crisp. Affordable Japanese quality for Japanese gaming.
Want to list the monitors and provide sources? That is how this list gets updated. It is a community-driven effort (hence, the “we” and “our” that you referred to so disparagingly).
There’s no elitism here; Everyone is free to contribute, and really I think we have a mindset of, “the more, the merrier.” If the information is from semi-reputable sources with proper testing (and not just someone saying, “well I’m used to <16ms lag and this felt about the same”), it will be added by SaveFighting to the OP.
I myself have tested 6 separate devices using SMTT methods, but unfortunately none of them are <16ms (hence I didn’t post about them )
If you’re seeing 2ms anywhere, you’re probably looking at the refresh rate, as opposed to the measured input latency… Be careful not to confuse the two.
If you’re not, and you have a source for that 2ms, a) I will shit a brick of solid gold if there’s a 2ms LCD/LED readily available, and b) would you provide a link to the information/testing completed on these monitors?
