Sub 1 frame HDTV/Monitor Input Lag Database

So it seems like the VH236h and VH238h are about to be very hard to find. Unfortunately I won’t be getting a monitor for another month or so. Is there a similarly-priced alternative that’s just as good?

Most Asus monitors in the 23" range have about the same input lag. I can’t say I’ve done any tests myself, but I’ve seen reviews here and there of various models and they all seem to post good results. I wouldn’t sweat it.

I ordered the ASUS VE247H but I’m worried I’ve seen mixed reports on ghosting and input lag. Apparently the input lag is 8.3ms anyone know or had expierience with this monitor? thanks

VH236H has supposedly been discontinued for a long time and you’re still able to get new monitors all the time. They’re not THAT hard to find, especially if you’re not too picky on getting them brand new.

I actually posted results from testing the 247 against the 236 on page 13.

It appears to be virtually identical from my (admittedly, not too strenuous) testing

Hello all…first post here. However I lurk here from time to time. I am 33 and no longer as competitive as I once was…that being said the FGC was my first love so i want to help out in any way i can. I was recently in the market for a TV/Monitor and went thew hell trying to find something in the 32" range with decent input lag. Sadly the original post is pretty obsolete for the TVs listed…as most are not on the market of not sold in the US under a reliable source.

Long story short after much research and a stab in the dark i purchased
Panasonic VIERA TC-L32X5 32-Inch 720p 60Hz IPS LED-LCD TV

which can be found here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00752RB0I/ref=s9_simh_bw_p23_d2_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-9&pf_rd_r=1A2GF4QBV1QKYWJG0EDK&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1286694762&pf_rd_i=1266092011

Now I was only able to test this set via VGA to my netbook…as i no longer have a CRT avail. That being said i was able to hit around 16ms via this method without an exact resolution match.

As stated i know this is not the best method and my be off. However the TV seem to perform fairly well and was worth mentioning. If anyone has and questions or something they would like me to test/explain …please feel free to ask

I have a quick question for you guys, and it might get a monitor added to this list if you guys think I’m right, but I am going into this expecting to possibly be called a dumbass.

Somewhat recently PRAD did their review and tests on the Samsung C27A750X, and clocked it at 5.3 ms Input Lag with the “Fastest” setting selected, as you guys know and can see since that monitor got added to this list. From the small bit of info I can get the C27A750X and the Samsung S27B550v are the same monitor with the exception of the C27A750X being wireless and the S27B550v being wired. They appear to have the same specs pretty much all the way around aside from the Wireless feature and the adjustability of the stand. Granted PRAD hasn’t done a review of the S27B550v, but I was wondering if they really are the same technology, would it be a safe assumption to think that the S27B550v would also have a similar amount of input lag as its C27A750X brother??

If I am totally wrong here let me know. With my limited understanding of all this and the small bits of info I can get, they appear to be the same monitor with one being wireless and one being wired, so I would think they would have similar amounts of input lag.

You gotta test it to make sure. You can have what looks to be the exact same monitor except for one subtle change, but there may be other unlisted changes or that subtle change may cause more input lag.

Well I don’t have the ability to test it myself next to a CRT monitor, if anyone does or has, I would be interested to hear the results.

You are most likely right and definitely not a dumb ass for making that assumption. It’s a pretty safe bet that they would perform exactly the same assuming that the wireless model has the option to be hard wired as well. The only thing that would prevent them from being the same is if the image had to first be sent through wireless tech first and then displayed on your screen rather than simply be displayed like normal. That would be extremely stupid so they probably didn’t do it BUT you never know.

Now if you are talking about if there will be added lag with the wireless connection compared to the wired one then there definitely will be. However, there is no way to know just how much. It could be as little as 1 millisecond or it could be much much higher depending on if the monitor does any kind of buffering or how long it takes to process the image when it’s received. I’m going to assume it’s pretty quick but it may not be quick enough for FGC-types.

I would personally be interested to know just for curiousity sake.

One of the things that I was thinking about is, how much does the PSP screen lag?

And, could we use it to test TV lag?

Admittedly it would probably be via component/composite, but pretty much everyone could get their hands on a PSP. Easiest example I could come up with would be Tekken, where command history will display moves on the screen after they’re pressed. You’d need to have some method to show when the button was physically pressed, but something like a circuit for an LED connected to the split across the top and base of the button (so that the circuit is completed when a button is pressed) should give a way for this to work.

Just out of curiosity for those of you using monitors without speakers - any recommendations for speakers for the Xbox 360? I’m mainly using a Turtle Beach headset with the monitor, but looking for something so I can take the setup around. I’m thinking about something USB powered that I can plug into the back of the 360, but just curious what everyone is using.

The points you bring up are kind of why I was thinking the wired model would be just as good if not better than the wireless one, and the wireless one is actually the one that was tested, and is now on the Sub 1 Frame list. I mean without testing it directly I guess we wouldn’t know 100%, but I feel like its a safe bet.

Does anyone know what the imput lag for the LG L227WTG is ?
it says 9.8 ms for** LG L227WT **

Is LG L227WT the same thing as a LG L227WTG ?

Before I go on, I’m not trying to state anything against what is already known.
I’m merely passing along info.

Anyway, I have one of those Sony Wega tvs. A 30 Inch HD CRT one.
I wanted to find out if it had input lag and came across this: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1239381/best-16x9-hd-crt-with-low-or-no-input-lag#post_19322069
I was able to do this to my Sony 30XS955 and noticed I have an easier time doing hit confirms with Ken on 3sOE.
This is just my impression, don’t take it as fact. Since I have no way to test for input lag, I can’t say for sure if it got rid of it completely.

I know this won’t do much for most of us here, but for those with these TVs, at least you can do something about the input lag.
Just a warning though, be careful when using the service menu.
On these Sony tvs, don’t ever press 7, 8, or 9 on the remote.
I don’t know what 8 does, but pressing 7 and 9 is part of sequence to reset the settings on the tv.
This could lead to a picture that’s very hard to see, and thus, very hard to get viewable on the account that you can’t use the on screen display properly

This thread is super outdated

does anyone know when the creator will update it anytime soon ?

How is it outdated? I’ve been adding new sub 1 frame monitors as I found them or been linked to them via this thread.

Regarding TV’s there is simply not enough sub 1 frame HDTV’s been reviewed. A few new ones were adding but sadly most new TV’s simply are terrible for fighting games when it comes to input lag.

I think you’ve done a great job of keeping this as up-to-date as is possible.
It’s not like you can go out and purchase every new TV on the market to test personally. As people test and report findings, they are promptly added to the list. A job very well done, I think.

Has anyone here personally gamed and seen the input on a Panasonic ST50 or Samsung E6500 plasma?

I’m specifically looking for the 60" sizes but wondering if anyone has gamed on either of these panels in general, regardless of size.

If so could you please give your opinion? Based on AVS and reading, it seems they are the lowest, some stating 16ms for both, but I keep hearing varying results.

Great site!! the info is invaluable!!! Hey I found a great site that has the larger display sizes, with the input lag levels, plus a through review of the displays picture quality.–Hope it helps-- http://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?subaction=showfull&id=1229341472#konsollen
