Sub 1 frame HDTV/Monitor Input Lag Database

Near $300 USD is good deal. The pound is higher than the dollar when it comes to exchange rate.

Asus VH236H is by far the most common monitor in the FGC.

I was considering grabbing the evo monitor but wanted some 2nd opinion, thought maybe the tech got better seeing as that monitor is a few years old.

Also, since I will be using the hauppauge hd pvr + component cables to record PS3 footage, if I were to grab a component to hdmi converter will that work for the monitor? and will it add delay?

Edit: At this point I’m down to either ASUS VH236H or ASUS VW246H, anyone know if there are any noticeable difference between the two outside of viewing angle?

Anyone have any lag information on the VS247H-P monitor?

These are the monitors that were used at the SF25th anniversary tournament, and this series is supposed to replace the VH236H as that model is being phased out.

Any information would be helpful.

There’s no game mode per say. However, you can change settings of image processing that would likely add lag. I found it strange that there was no “game mode” that would turn these settings off by default but that might be because there’s no noticeable lag anyway. I only turn these settings off to be on the safe side. As I mentioned in my review, the only lag I noticed was when connecting with other than an HDMI cable.

Maybe see if you can get a testing session before you buy though just to be sure. I could have gotten it online cheaper but I decided spending the extra money was worth it to get the test. Of course, I could have tested it and then bought it online but I felt that that would be a bit too cheeky

Hope that helps and happy gaming!

The ghosting is over a frame at 26 ms … I would be surpised if the input lag turns out to be much better:

Saw this tv at a Good Will store and want to know if anybody has any experience with them.

Samsung gr25m21

Flat screen CRT made in 2006 with components in the back. Looks about to be 24" and only cost $25. Worth it?

Hi guys, what’s the best 27’’ monitor? That Philips 273P3LPHES? Is it the best?

Can’t comment on the quality of the TV but from a lag point of view, CRTs are always the best so you shouldn’t have any issues with lag.

I would say the best 27" would be the asus vg278h. I have 3 of them myself and they are great but the price is quite high though i haven’t seen the price for the lg.

I’m in the market for a new TV and looking to get a 55" to 65" TV most likely.

Anyone have any that they recommend in this size range that are as lagless as possible?

Are any of the specific technologies (LED, LCD, Plasma) better/worse as far as lag goes in a general sense?

I currently have the Evo-Monitor that I use to game, but I’d like to be able to do it on a big screen and am going to consider this when purchasing a new TV.

Asus VG278H is awesome but it’s expensive and I don’t think I need 3D and 120Hz for fighting games. Maybe for 3D Blu-ray movies would be pretty good

How are you liking the GW2450HM?

Seems all the 32" 1080p TV’s listed in the OP are out of production or only available used (for insane prices).

Could anyone recommend a good 32" 1080p?

Thanks in advance.

re-posting from another thread

Great thus far, really digging the LED and the overall responsiveness. I had some trouble with it getting it to work but I believe it was due to my settings, removed and reinstalled my graphics driver and it worked like a charm.

LG 32LK450, been using it for my PS3 for the last year or so and no problems whatsoever. Not sure about the input delay but it should be comparable to the 32ld450.

I’ve tested a e228wfpc which I think is the same as a e228fwp. According to my results it has a delay of 3ms when compared to a CRT monitor. I tested using the SMTT 2.0 method. Here are the screenshots of my test.

 2. My connections. CRT with a DVI-VGA connector, TFT with DVI input on the monitor:

 3. Here are the results using Dell’s default resolution 1680x1050:

 4. Also did a test with a resolution of 1280x720 since SF4 runs at 720p:

Any questions feel free to ask me. I have all the original photos taken for this test.

anyone played any fighters on any projectors before, that had acceptable input lag?

i’m in the market for a projector too but it looks like in general most of them have pretty bad lag.

im going to be testing out the panasonic ae7000u in the near future, which is supposed to have the least amount of lag (like 3 frames) but we’ll see when I actually try it out.

ive bought one too and i really like it! much better than dell u2312hm! no difference on the input lag area but it has incredible black depth and the contrast is amazing! very good viewing angles and hdmi input with in built speakers makes it a dream!
