Sub 1 frame HDTV/Monitor Input Lag Database

Pretty sure that’s the 2011 model. I’ll have to do some looking to see what the difference (if there really is any) is between the two models. I’m am curious about a couple of things. The E550 has a very shiny screen does the D550? If so is it distracting? Also, have you noticed any “buzzing” from the set if you are more then 2 feet away from it?

The screen is super reflective, but during the day I close the blinds and curtains behind it. If you can’t control the lighting well, it can be distracting on dark scenes. And I don’t notice the buzzing unless I’m fairly close. I can’t tell you if I just got used to it or what though, since it’s been a while.

There’s always a danger that added processing can result in a higher input lag but just like last year, the P50ST50 had a measured input lag of only 16ms in Game mode, which is excellent. However, the subsequent review of the P65ST50 used a new approach to measuring input lag and this gave a result of 48ms which raises doubts about the earlier measurement. Anyone serious gamers looking for a TV might want to take this into account.

We are redecorating our house (new paint, hardwood floors, new furniture). My girl wants the SDTV in the living room out. Apparently it is not stylish enough. I’m keeping one in my kids room so whatever.

My primary concern in buying a HDTV is that it will take 240p over component for my old games. Is there a store that is compatible with me lugging a Mega Drive and SCART converter in and hooking it up? Do I need to have cash in hand for the sales reps to take me seriously?

It’s my best choice atm with price and exactly what I need, but I can’t find any reviews talking about input lag or anything. Hoping if anyone here has heard stuff about it before I look at my next choice?

Does anybody know what’s up with “The EVO Monitor” that’s not THE Evo monitor?
I hear ASUS is branding the VS247H-P as the Evo monitor even though it’s not the VH236H…
I also heard there was some sort of blowup about it. Anyone know what’s going on?

Also, not sure why they’d label the monitor with the numbers 247 if it’s a 23.6" monitor…

I just ordered the Asus PA238Q. I was thinking about the VH236H but I really wanted something that would work well for games but also great for photo editing & tethering. Being able to rotate to a vertical orientation & the wider color gamut was a big plus for photos for me.

I see the database says “Factory Settings” so I’m assuming it should be pretty plug & play? Or is there a game mode setting like the VH236H?

Hey guys,

I recently got the Auria EQ276W 27" IPS LED Monitor from Microcenter and have been trying it out with SF4AE. I’m no tournament/professional player by any means, but it actually seems to be pretty decent lag-wise. I have my xbox 360 plugged in through VGA, and I really can’t notice any difference in latency from the EQ276W and my old hannspree 23 inch (don’t know the exact model, but it was fast).

I do have a CRT on hand, so if I can figure out how to measure the latency I would be glad to post it here. As usual with these cheap monitors, YMMV, but it seems that Xbox + VGA port + EQ276W = playable quality fighting game-worthy monitor.

The monitor is factory calibrated. I’ve never had a problem with the settings so I left them as is. You may want to adjust sharpness for games though.

Summary: The** Samsung UE32EH5000** seems good.

I tried for ages to find an HDTV with low input lag. I researched for about two months using this thread as my base. Unfortunately, I found that the model numbers listed on the first page either a) Were not available anymore or b) Had bad reviews or c) Were over my budget or d) Did not fit my needs

The TV on the list I most wanted was the Samsung UE32D5000 but, to cut a very long story short, I couldn’t find it at a decent price.

So, I thought I’d try the UE32EH5000 (natural successor). I couldn’t find any info about whether or not it had low enough input lag so I managed to negotiate a testing session at a local electronics shop.

Now, I didn’t test it with an oscilloscope or anything as I didn’t have the facilities available to me. My brother and I just went down to the shop with our consoles and a fight stick.

Here’s a quick summary of our findings:

[]Input lag when connected via HDMI seems very low. I can’t comment on whether or not it is sub 1 frame or anything but we found the lag to be low enough (and we are quite sensitive to lag… my brother in particular). This was at both 720p and 1080p from an XBOX 360 and a PS3 running SSIVAE, VF5:FS and SSF2:HD Remix (XBOX and PS3 for all games).
[]When connected using a composite signal, we noticed definite lag (must be due to the up scaling). Nothing monstrous but enough to notice a very slight delay between pressing light punch and seeing it.

That’s pretty much it. Not the kind of data another user might be looking for (and not as much as I wanted during my hunt) but better than nothing. I thought I’d post this here in case anyone else is thinking about this TV. Don’t take my word for it though. Test it if you can before you buy. I won’t be held responsible if you buy it and discover that it has input lag of more than 16 ms. Just consider it as a possible candidate.

As finding a good HD TV with low input lag is a real struggle, I thought I’d post this as it’s more likely to be helpful than not. I made an account especially. Though I hope to post here a bit when my RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) gets better and I can start playing again.

Woww why is the benq gw2750gm like $220 is amazon uk but damn near $300 for us. We wouldn’t we be to use the same one in America, correct?

Old school high quality CRT VGA monitors are going to outperform LCDs in terms of lag, but they don’t scale well in size.

I got mine yesterday & so far I’m really pleased with it. The stand on it is super nice, much better than the EVO monitor IMO. I have some small speakers for it for now but any recommendations? I might look into something small that’s USB powered (to connect into its hub) & will connect to the headphone jack for portability.

The plug would be different I think, you would need to change it or use a plug converter.[/quote]
