I can vouch for the Asus PA238Q. It has an IPS panel so the image quality and color reproduction is excellent, no visible ghosting either. Lagless as suggested in reviews. This monitor is so cheap too. I’m a picky SOB and I’m telling you this monitor is legit.
U2212HM is better than U2312HM, if you choose Dell go for the 22 inches.
Use the button on the monitor:
Menu -> Image -> Tacefree
I don’t see any option for “Tacefree” on my monitor, nor Tracefree. But there is an option for “Overdrive”. Is this the same thing?
I’d like to know about the latest LG (or any other brand would serve) LED or 3D Tvs, 32" and higher, ¿does anybody know?
Oh yeah, to be useful, my kinda old LCD LG 32" model: 32LG30R 1080p Tv has very little lag, I’d say less than one frame because everything seems to come out instantly (and I can notice 1 frame).
Long story short, I really need to order a monitor quickly, and I’d like to order from Newegg. The Evo monitor is out of stock, but how’s the VH242H for gaming? We use them at work, but I obviously haven’t been able to play Street Fighter on it.
EDIT: Also, I’d like to stay sub-$200 (pre-rebates). The $180 for the VH242H is my ideal maximum, though. Really want to order form Newegg since I have other computer stuff I need to buy.
Try the vh248h. Its the LED backlight version of the EVO monitor.

got an old panasonic plasma 32’’ from 2006. has 8ms of lag and is really good, but the picture is very fuzzy and has these annoying lines so im replacing it.
anybody have something similar with 32’’ and around 8ms of lag that works for them?
My xbox doesn’t have HDMI output. Is there a component to HDMI converter that is lag-free so I can buy the ASUS evo monitor?
Got the Evo monitor from Buy.com:
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=210917291
It’s $160 pre-rebate ($20 rebate makes it $140) and free shipping. Ordered mine on Thursday and it delivered today.
Noticed that over the weekend. Order that and a mouse from Buy.com. Too bad I accidentally ordered a lefty mouse so I need to return it. >_<
When it comes to the Evo monitor am I better off with the VH236 or the VH238? Is there any major difference outside of LED backlight?
This is a great resource, but most of the TVs listed are no longer available. Of course the one that caught my eye was the Sony 32W400 with the 8.6ms input lag. That is a really impressive stat, but I can’t even find this thing used anywhere. However I did find one with a very similar name: the Sony BRAVIA LKV-32EX400. Anyone know if this is at all comparable to the 32W400?
I haven’t seen anything that would confirm one ad being better than the other. I seems to remember a post for Jebailey stating that all the VH series perform the same.

So does the ASUS VE278Q have lag or not? It’s on sale at Newegg today. I saw some posts that said it did, and some that said otherwise.
I’m currently planning on buying an hdtv and have found this thread very helpful. However, for my needs the size I’m looking for is between 18" to 24", but the smallest television size on the list is 32". Is there an actual reason that the televisions suggested all start at that size while the monitors do not, or are the people who did the test just size whores lol. Not bashing or anything, I’m genuinely curious.
Also, in the case that there isnt a good reason, can anyone recomend tv’s in my size range that have decent input delay. I’ve spent a crap ton of time on the avs forums (fubar seems helpful) and other sites, but I havent found enough info and I honestly just dont have the money to buy and test a bunch of TV’s. I’d rather not go blind while buying a television…
P.S. I’d prefer an actual television over monitors since many hdtv can function as both without modifications or accessories; if there are monitors that fit this description and low lag feel free to tell me- I havent found any, but I’d love to be wrong.
EDIT: There was one on the list that I skipped due to price.
Screw it. Decided to get a monitor; I’ll just get a digital tuner for it later. Choosing between the asus vh236h and asus ve228. Both have pros and cons when compared to the other. The VE228 has less input lag(not by much though) and a better contrast ratio. However, theVH236H has a better response time (2ms gtg compared to 5ms gtg) and slightly bigger screen. I found online retailers I trust that sell both for around the same price. I can live with a smaller screen but is the better input lag (by about 1.6 ms) and color ratio (much higher, though there’s using the leds to adjust luminance) worth the 3ms drop in response time (and nearly 2" drop in size if you’re into that)?
I’m leaning yes since I play more than fighters and would love more color differentiation in my games, but I’m worried about ghosting and would appreciate the opinions of others. I looked up both models and neither seems prone to ghosting, but I’d like info from people who actually own these monitors.
Also, are there any usability issues that could make interacting with one monitor more difficult than the other?
Anyone here with Panasonic ST50 experience?
I wasn’t sure whether to post this in this thread or in The New Definitive HDTV Lag FAQ
Summary: The** Samsung UE32EH5000** seems good.
I tried for ages to find an HDTV with low input lag. I researched for about two months using this thread as my base. Unfortunately, I found that the model numbers listed on the first page either a) Were not available anymore or b) Had bad reviews or c) Were over my budget or d) Did not fit my needs
The TV on the list I most wanted was the Samsung UE32D5000 but, to cut a very long story short, I couldn’t find it at a decent price.
So, I thought I’d try the UE32EH5000 (natural successor). I couldn’t find any info about whether or not it had low enough input lag so I managed to negotiate a testing session at a local electronics shop.
Now, I didn’t test it with an oscilloscope or anything as I didn’t have the facilities available to me. My brother and I just went down to the shop with our consoles and a fight stick.
Here’s a quick summary of our findings:
[]Input lag when connected via HDMI seems very low. I can’t comment on whether or not it is sub 1 frame or anything but we found the lag to be low enough (and we are quite sensitive to lag… my brother in particular). This was at both 720p and 1080p from an XBOX 360 and a PS3 running SSIVAE, VF5:FS and SSF2:HD Remix (XBOX and PS3 for all games).
[]When connected using a composite signal, we noticed definite lag (must be due to the up scaling). Nothing monstrous but enough to notice a very slight delay between pressing light punch and seeing it.
That’s pretty much it. Not the kind of data another user might be looking for (and not as much as I wanted during my hunt) but better than nothing. I thought I’d post this here in case anyone else is thinking about this TV. Don’t take my word for it though. Test it if you can before you buy. I won’t be held responsible if you buy it and discover that it has input lag of more than 16 ms. Just consider it as a possible candidate.
As finding a good HD TV with low input lag is a real struggle, I thought I’d post this as it’s more likely to be helpful than not. I made an account especially. Though I hope to post here a bit when my RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) gets better and I can start playing again.
Hey guys,
I’m looking for a road monitor for fighting games (I’ve already got a very low input lag Sharp 40" which has been AWESOME). How is this AOC monitor?

EDIT: Nevermind, i’m an idiot. I didn’t realize it didn’t have HDMI. That’s what I get for posting friends’ links without checking first.
Can anyone recommend a 22" to 24" computer monitor with HDMI and very low input lag?
