Ending 1 is the bad ending from SoR1. You get it the same way as you did in that game.
Ending 2 comes from the SoR3 final stage (the one that ends with the Shiva fight and the bomb defusal). You get it if you let the timer run out.
Endings 7 and 8 are bonus endings. To get them, you have to beat the game with Rudra and beat the game on Mania difficulty (respectively) without saving or cheating.
In other news, I always pick “aggressive” when I go with a CPU teammate. I prefer it miles over “balanced”. CPU stays alive a lot longer in my opinion when you go with that because they’re not getting their face kicked in. Only thing I don’t like about it is if I’m beating up on a guy, the stupid CPU will come over and get involved. Which is fine sometimes for bosses but there are other times when I’m trying to rack my score up for stars/lives and the damn thing will steal my points by killing the enemy.
How do you change palettes? The CPU picked a different palette after continuing.
I’m going to turn Friendly Fire off and put it on aggressive. The computer has killed me 4 times now. Those are all my life losses too. Maybe CPU Blaze is just evil.
First she threw me off of the roof. Then she ate my roast (after gobbling hers up moments before…greedy bitch). Next she blocked me on the way to the roast…and then ate that one too again. Finally, apparently not satisfied with robbing me of my life or killing me by throwing me off roofs, she decided to guard another roast and when I tried to get near it just killed me.
So no more FF. The AI is really stupid or I’m extremely unlucky, either way, I am displeased. I still don’t know what Max’s 3 star is since Blaze keeps killing me. I guess I’ll have to try the shortcut to see.
Damnit I’m a grand short. I’ll just buy the SOR1/2 characters and do the SOR2 path to get her this time. I need me some top tier Axel. And yes I’m turning off FF this time. I hate pulling punches cause Skate thinks he’s a big man and decides to stand in front of EVERYONE.
I’ve got the new MK and Castlevania DLC waiting on me but I can’t let go of this. I wish there could have been online play…
On another note, the song “Entertainment Street” owns. Does anyone know what original song it’s based off of? I can’t recall hearing it in the original games.
I just got this running on my og Xbox, and I’m loving this game.
It’s everything I could have hoped for out of a real sequel from Sega. The remade music, the new graphical touches, all the new levels & moves, this is awesome!
It’s also nice to play on a TV, on a real console, I’m glad someone got this running on the Xbox, and put the files out there to make it run.
It might be one of those extra tracks from the official OSTs that didn’t actually make it into the original games. I know some of the music in Remake is lifted from those as well as some of the arranged versions. Compare Last Soul (4hO_Wo9QPh4]OST, ).
Does anyone know what the -5% bonus means when you buy an extra? I don’t recall reading about it in the manual, and I guess I could use this post to ask about it.
She?s an interesting pick, but be warned that she?s not too good.
-Walk speed: I don?t recall it being remarkable for good or bad.
-Basic combo: Bad overall. Good range, terrible speed, terrible damage. A few of the hits cover her back, but it?s not something you can rely on (and enemies do have time to circle five times around you while you do the combo).
-Jump kick: Good priority, OK range.
-Grabs: So-so, and I think she doesn’t grab as easily as other characters.
-Back attack: It?s actually a good one. You may troll some enemies with it, as well as do some occasional bitch-slap crowd control, but it’s not something you can abuse.
-Dash attack: Average. Not too much to write about. A standard charge forward.
-Defensive special: Can do a good amount of damage for an attack of its kind, and if all the hits land. Like the back attack, it’s an interesting, non-abusable move.
-Offensive special: Meh. Average speed and low damage from up close. Terrible speed and terrible damage from afar.
-Police special: Can use anywhere, but does little damage.
-Knife fight. Basic attack is Blaze style; great damage and good startup, but it lasts too long. Dash attack is actually good.
-Pipe fight: sucks.
It?s an interesting character because of some quirks of her basic combo (especially if you try wiggling left and right as you are doing it while surrounded), her back attack, the damage of her defensive special and her knife fighting. The problems come with not having a way to deal real damage, and being sluggish with most of her moves (which also forces you to waste your meter on saving your ass instead of focusing on doing damage).
I think the character is more of a curiosity. For 10k more you get a much more effective one (but kind of similar gameplay to Shiva, who you already have unlocked), or you may also get Mr X as another interesting long-range choice.
It’s just a shop discount. At certain times of the day you can go into the shop and the music will be different plus you’ll get a 5% discount on everything. Another feature of the shop is that at certain times of the day you go in and Blaze will be asleep (this gives you the opportunity to try to steal an unlockable item from the shop and shows the % chance of your success if you attempt to do so).
i found this to be true as well, after playing sor2 multiple times over many years my first thought of sor3 axel was how underpowered he was compared to the last game, pretty sure his regular attacks do less damage, his grand upper does pathetic damage, up jump not as good not as good hitboxes on it meaning it whiffs more often, and the fact he just looks a lot more messy than the sor2 version.
im tempted to see if theres an option to turn off star moves in this, since when you use sor2 axel, his grand upper gets a massive damage boost (like it originally used to) for 0-1 stars, but then when you get to 2 stars, it loses sooooo much damage its not even funny, and the less said about the level 3 star version the better.
this game is a lot tougher than sor ever was as well. 4 times ive tried playing through and only once have i finished it, meaning zero reward for spending over an hour on the game only to die on the last boss.
i was also quite disappointed that axels 5 hit combo doesnt work the same way it did in sor2 either. used to be that the 5th hit could come out automatically if you timed the combo perfectly (i can remember the rhythm the hits made) but in this even if you get it perfect you only get the last hit if you hit the button an extra time which just feels plain weird to me, a small gripe i know but sor2 is a game very dear to my heart for all eternity…
^ i agree SOR2 Alex owns but i like SOR3 Shiva tho one problem i have with SOR3 shiva is when i get grabbed from beind he doesnt have a overhead throw like the other rest but his lighting kick = epic
There’s an option to set the star moves to be used with dash + special button, that way dash + attack button is only used for the original non-upgraded move. Also you can get a 1 star special at any time by holding the special button and pressing forward twice.
I thought you always had to hit it the extra time, just you had to time it to even GET the last hit of the combo. What I’d usually do is just hold the button to get the last hit, that way I’d get the held move after. In SOR2 that held move was an excellent move.
I haven’t played SOR2 Axel yet. I’m using SOR1.
The upgraded move is just awful for him period. I will switch to X/Special for the blitz move too when using Axel. This is just such a garbage move. Also, for SOR2 Axel, there is a possibility that disabling run and roll might work better for him, depending on if they let him keep his invincibility or not. Well it wasn’t invincible, just high priority. SOR1 and SOR3 versions certainly don’t have the priority. The level 3 never gets it either so it’s just so dumb.
There needs to be a backdash in this game. It should probably be a backdashing reverse attack. Or just a backslide, like Alucard has in SOTN.
It’s an opinion, how would someone be able to explain it to you? I mean I guess I can say ST is better than SFA1 but if your favorite game is SFA1 how would anything I say matter?
People just prefer SOR2 for it’s style of play. It’s a slower pace and has more damage generally. For the most part characters don’t all jump around the screen avoiding damage.
Alright, finally slapped together my 16-bit alternate music pack for SORRV5. Has damn near every SoR1/2/3 tune (except for Big Boss from SoR1) in it, along with a handful of extra goodies to replace the newly added stages for us purists out there. More details can be found in the readme that I supplied in the archive. Enjoy everyone!
