well, i wouldnt say sor3 is a bad game at all (and i never owned the original megadrive version, only since it came out on the Virtual console) but i can give you a few points to why I think sor2 is the better game of the two.
Graphics - i think in general most (if not all) of the sprites in sor2 were a lot cleaner looking than those in 3, and also a little bit larger, animation was about the same between both games. i do think as well that in general the bosses/stages were a lot more recognisable and memorable than those in 3.
sound - after getting used to the awesome sound effects in 2, the convincing thwacks etc that come from a connected hit (i just love the rhythm and sound of axels full ground combo) hearing the respective noises for each in 3 is rather unsatisfying i have to say. the sound effects just dont convey a sense of a really hard hitting smack to the face or headbutt. Another issue (which might actually be due to a very poor PAL conversion, but i havent been able to check this properly) is that some of the sound effects actually do not give out any sound, its not uncommon to hit axels 5 hit combo and only hear sound effects for 3-4 of the hits, which is very jarring and unsatisfying. The PAL version also had all of its music slowed down from its NTSC version, and as a result some of the music is just absolutely ruined. I do think in general that SOR2 had better music on the whole, esp the music for the final boss fight against mr X.
i admit i havent put in anywhere near as many hours into sor3 as i have 2, and sor2 is one of my fave games of all time and is still as good to play now as it was for me over 15 years ago. i seldom put on SOR3 by comparison.
no, it was definatly you only had to hit it four times. and yea when i figured that after using a backthrow with axel if i held the button down i could get a double kick to hit anyone stood behind me that was a good day.
It still doesnt beat my personal fave combo though of three hits (jab, jab, straight) followed by a neutral jump kick for an additional 2 hits, does more damage than regular combo, and looks awesome as fuck!
I just found that if you have visited the card room at the bomb defusal part and unlocked the level select extra, you may start a new game in said room, loot it and let the 3 minutes expire for 18.000 free points each time (select mania difficulty for best reward).
how big should the game be or does someone wanna give a link?
Have attempted Mania 4 tims now, this latest time I tried the SOR2 path
FUCK THOSE NINJAS.
How did you get it running on your mod box?
There is a patch you download and insert the files into the existing sorrv5 download package for the pc, then FTP the whole folder over to the games folder on your Xbox.
Just do a Google search for xSoRv5. There was one patch released that was found to have a glitch, then a second one that corrected said glitch. Be sure you snag the newer patch.
Haven’t played this in a while. Any idea when Bomber Games are going to be able to host the download again?
How do you get this game to work? I have no idea how to install it. the file extension is .deb. Never hear of that before.
There should be a SorR.exe file. Where did you download the game from?
Ok then, I will look for a file that has the exe. included. The only file the one that I downloaded was that deb file.
lucky for me i got the game a few days it was pulled of from the site. Bitch move Sega
Can someone tell me where to get this game from, am I allowed to ask this as I have been told it is no available
I found a site which apprently had the game but there were lots of programs in the folder and I couldn’t find which one to double click to install and open?
sorry I found that earlier but what do I need to double click to open the game or I assume it’s not as easy as that?
Just open the zip file, put the folder somewhere on your PC, and open up SORR.exe.
