Shoot man, I hope you get the biggest combos going with Floyd. He’s definitely fun after all - I especially love the two man grab he does. Takes me back to Maximum Carnage. Game was beastly but I never could beat it. It must’ve been set on mania by default. Speaking of that difficulty level, I’m on stage 6 on mania. But it’s so hard I put it down to watch Star Trek Discovery lol.
Also, the world is severely lacking because we don’t have an SoR fighting game.
there’s enough for a good 12-14 man roster.
Hopefully the reason Roo isn’t in this game is the same reason roger jr hasn’t been in US Tekken for a few games now because of animal cruelty or whatever the big deal was.
Roger Jr was in TTT2.
Doubt that Jaoan gives two shits about PETA.
It could be good too… But I’m a bit concerned about an SOR fighting game getting the Final Fight Revenge treatment…
Make that ish 2D. The real issue would be handling combos. Need to have some semblance of normalcy. SoR4 has you doing 20 otgs, 80 juggle hits and then your super OTGs after you’ve exhausted those.
The cool thing though is that you could something similar to Psychic Force where your lifebar and meter are tied together. Maybe using special moves does recoverable damage. Then you can only use EX moves by spending the gray health like does in MvC3.
Putting in supers would be tricky though
Edit: So characters need to have chains, a special and some sort of back turn attack. If you keep it 2D (playstyle, not necessarily drawn), then the back turn stuff would be the hardest to implement. Unless you just make back turn attacks part of their regular set of normals. Oh and charge normals. This might be kinda good TBH.
Isn’t that what Fighting Force was originally going to be?
1-0 online with Floyd. Landing an infinite from your regular square attack is ridic. Does hella damage and if they mash hoping the netcode saves them, you still have wake up super.
Samoan Jax doing work.
Also Floyd has a wall bounce loop he can do for 50%.
Hmm…need to do some more labbing of VS mode.
I know the hype already died down with most of you guys but man, this game is still .
Been a while since a game hooked me this well.
I still play it a bit every other day but I’m focused on W101 at the moment for the most part.
Listen to the music almost every day though lol
One thing I’m doing is putting together S ranked runs for hard, hardest, and mania. Earlier on the music videos were getting shot down on yt due to copyright, but they seriously aren’t going to be able to stop that wave since more people continue to upload tracks haha.
Speaking of Floyd, I feel like I was wrong about him. I have seen some very impressive runs with this character, more specifically, a corner combo that did 75% dmg. He’s got interesting setups, infinite stunlocks, can grab two characters, and ranged specials. In my initial run, I didn’t get far with him (on Mania) but there’s definitely more tech out nowadays. It will be interesting for me to take another look at him. There are ways to get around his slow speed, kinda like how Max was in SoR2.
We talked about a tier list earlier, but it still might be difficult to put together with all the tech still coming out. Still, there is a consensus among the players that I have seen:
S: Adam, Blaze, SoR3 Skate, Shiva, Floyd
A: Cherry, SoR2 Skate, SoR3 Blaze, SoR3 Axel, Zan
B: SoR1 Blaze, SoR1 Axel, SoR1 Adam, SoR2 Axel, Max
C: Axel
D: SoR2 Blaze
Unranked: Roo
It’s crime I tell you, a fuckin’ crime!
Roo was more developed - and fun to play as - in SOR 3 than Zan. Admit it!
Think the thing you mentioned was his inability to bust open shields. He can do charged square XX forward forward attack to do half life to shields.
That area just before you fight the commissioner was my emphasis point. On Mania, I think there’s like 5-6 police w/shields that you need to break. I did have some trouble here, but I’ve also seen people do corner blitz pokes with Floyd and break multiple shields (they take advantage of the fact that once characters appear on screen, they cannot go off-screen again). Police w/shields are about as slow as Floyd, with very predictable attack patterns. As long as your spacing is good and you stay on the move, they go down pretty quick. Didn’t realize this first couple of “let’s plays.”
There has been some speculation about Roo, kinda like Roger from Tekken. It has to do with the times we live in, and you hear whispers about animal cruelty so yeah that’s too bad.
Inching my way through Mania mode with Axel. Almost at the boss of Stage 6. It’s funny how much trouble I had with Diamond and Ruby (the jumping girls) and now I totally run through them.
Also, Donovan having a weapon is a godsend since he has more startup on his attacks, which make it easier to counter him.
Robot + 4 Bob’s some bs though, lol.
This’ll probably my favorite release this year, Top 3 at the very least.
Are you doing Mania mode in Arcade or Story?
The jumping broads are a pain but you can one button anti air them with specials.
