Streets of Rage 4 Announced!

Yeah the Commissioner with another boss is some absolute BS. I hate that boss

SoR1 Axelā€™s basic jab is godlike  better than anything the starting cast has lmao. Itā€™s a 1-2 frame move with ridiculous reach and leads into the basic chain that does nice damage, even more when you add more delayed jabs before it. I havenā€™t gone too far on my harder run with him yet maybe the shortcomings will show up hard on the later enemies. Canā€™t wait to unlock more retro to see how busted they are lol

Commissioner is a bitch to fight.

Stage 1 boss gets annoying when she spams that snake thing with the armor frames.

Nora, on the other hand, lets you run a combo video on her and her mooks.

Nora is cool at least cause itā€™s a mechanic we havenā€™t seen in the series before. So it is kind of an interesting fight.

Only thing that sucks about the SoR1 characters us they are very same-y, but yeah those jabs are retarded good.

Also, they actually gave SoR2 characters star power super moves, which is pretty sick.

Didnā€™t they kinda have star power moves in SoR3? I remember they had some code to unlock broken versions of the characters with super moves, or am I thinking of another game?

Game is so good. Just got beat by not-Freddy Mercury, but the animation and graphics are just on another level. The mayhem that happens when the cops and baddies are on the screen is just crazy, lol.

Using Axel for the first run. Going for the Plain Jane of fundamentals. Wished the used Blazeā€™s SOR1 design for this or something similar. While she doesnā€™t look as corny as SOR2, itā€™s still not forever GOAT SOR1 design.

Yep that early 90s red bomber jacket

Werenā€™t there jab infinites in the earlier games? Not sure if it was SOR1 or SOR2, but I recall that in one of the older games, you could slowly link jabs together for an infinite.

EDIT: It was SOR2.

You could do it in SOR 1 too depending on enemy character and difficulty level

This is me beating Max on hard difficulty with Skate, spamming his headbutt special move

Max is a slog. His fight is basically finding that one thing you can spam (for me, it was Blazeā€™s air combo) then just waiting around for the opening to do it.

Yeah I always thought her SOR1 design was best too. Stance as well

In this game thatā€™s still possible but they have a hard limit on grounded hits. I think after like nine hits or so the next hit always launches. You can still get a juggle after that though so you can still make pretty long combos, itā€™s just not 100% free

Finished it. The last couple of stages felt like they were a tad long.

Also had to learn how to cheese the final boss.

Summary

Basically, take out the brother so heā€™s the one in the robot, not spamming his rockets all over. Then, just stand in the upper left or upper right waiting for the sister, then jump kick, or any other attack thatā€™ll reach. Get the knockdown, then back to the corners.

Onceā€™s sheā€™s down, move down to the bottom left or right corner, as the robot will change where it attacks. Just wait until the arm stops and wail on it.

So far, I hate that Great Value Orange Cassidy mfer that kicks the shit out of you while his hands are in his pockets. Havenā€™t find a sound strategy to deal with them yet

I been playing this through remote play and Iā€™m not feeling this game. This feels mediocre. The lack of defense annoys the hell out of me. So many situations in this game where I felt having a block or dodge would have been every good. I had a rough time playing anyone who wasnā€™t Adam or Cherry because no one else had a run or dash. This ainā€™t doing it for me at all.

Well yeah, thatā€™s how these old belt scrollers worked back in the day. For SOR, a lot of it was learning to use the iframes on throws. And you know a lot of people would cry foul had blocking been added.

Those are some annoying little shits, but theyā€™re nothing compared to the Judo monks!!
They will give a new level of hate and rage!!
:rage: :triumph:

Not really. You quickly learn that the best way to beat those is to use judo against them.
