I doubt that. Im guessing 0001-??? were demo units, allowing the numbering to go over 1000, but i didnt expect an improperly assembled unit for $160. I have to void my warranty to make my product assembled properly…LOL. I wouldve voided it anyway buy thats not the point.

J/k. I’m patiently waiting for mine as well. Hopefully those guys with those issues get them sorted out pretty quickly. Still excited for mine. Hopefully sometime next week.

Hey MarkMan, Those are some sweet pics of the new FightStick PRO. I’ve been following the different fightstick releases and I’ve become a bit of a collector because of the awsome artwork and the true arcade feel. I’ve collected 7 sticks so far and you could say that I’ve become a bit of a crack head when it comes to these fight sticks. Its not even funny. I even purchased a few when MadCatz had the ComicCon edition. Excellent work. Is it difficult for you to design and engineer these things? Everytime I turn my back, there is a new release. Anyway, I am new here. Never had the desire to post but those pictures were too awsome!!!

Hello guys, apologies for this late post. Here is a pic of the bottom/interior of the FightStick PRO. The stick actually started shipping this morning after this weekend’s orders processed.

First off, Mad Catz does not condone you opening up your stick/voiding your warranty unless qualified to do so. If you feel you are qualified, go for it, just know you voided your warranty and we are not obligated to warranty your product.

Alright, on with the show… First off! We wanted to take a more secure approach for the stick. As you know there are no top/hex screws on the FightStick PRO, instead there are TEN (10) screws on the bottom. Two different screw sizes. This may make people whine at the sheer thought of it, but hear me out.

There are smaller screws (same size as the ones on the SE) and then there are the 4 rubber feet held screws (bigger). Obviously the 10 screws total is to keep the bottom panel secured, however, the 4 rubber footheld screws are enough to keep the bottom plate on/secure. So modders will most likely eliminate using the smaller SE style screws and take them out completely. From there, you have 4 larger/standard size screws that are big/won’t strip and easy to take off. So with modding in mind/and ease of use. 4 large standard size cross screws and you’re in. Here’s the pics:

Now you have access to the interior. Swapping sticks & buttons should be a breeze. If you need to gain access to the top panel/artwork area for an art mod, then you’ll have to go further and unscrew the easy to find screws (notice the red gunk) around the frame of the FightStick PRO. If you are familiar with the SE FightStick, the artwork is applied in the same manner. You don’t have to take the stick apart, but you can if you want.

The bottom white frame was designed in mind with a thin layer of plastic, perfect for mounting ‘other’ PCB solutions.

The Start & Back/Select buttons are a lot more accessible than the TE FightSticks. As you can see in the picture. Also, the PCB area is underneath where start/select are.

Sorry this is just a short/quick look into the insides. I didn’t have much time to pull one apart today. Hope this helps somewhat.

Really sad to hear the initial horror stories with the PROs. Hopefully it gets worked out (even though I’m siding with the “meh, not interested in the design”)

They’d look a LOT better not in primary red IMO. Even a flat black, anything else.

Wow people got beat-up sticks? The stick itself new or not doesn’t even look that appealing lol, let stand half-broke. The blocky red is ugly and the design I can print on it myself.

Does anyone know what this stick has that the TE does not have? This one VS TE? If there are no big differences Ill just buy a TE + Paste SF X Tekken art on it lol. Sorry if this was mentioned before

That’s handling the situation beyond what is expected of you. Calling yourself Salty when you are clearly in the right to be frustrated; you get 100 points for being an awesome human being.

I just opened up my shipment and I’m not noticing major defects, other than a strong smell. Not a plastic smell, but… I just don’t want to know? Wiped down the entire thing w/ Windex to get rid of the smell – worked. I noticed some smudges on the stick akin to leftover adhesive, and had to clean that off as well…

Now, the Caveats…
As far as the buttons go – they don’t appear used, and the stick also appears to be new. HOWEVER, it is clear that these buttons may have brushed against some other buttons at some point in time. No scratches, but there are plastic blemishes, I find this to be normal but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

The metal panel appears to be slightly uneven… Even if it’s just a milimeter. The artwork is sunken slightly into the red plastic, but the entire bottom right corner is not sunken in, and is instead slightly over the plastic. I want to open it up and screw it in harder perhaps?

A major positive is that the artwork isn’t just some cheap art! It may look like the standard printout like the SE or TE, but it’s actually foiled! That’s right, it looks like a very high quality (i mean the highest quality possible) collectible card game card. If you play Magic the Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh, it’s similar to this but even better in terms of design. It doesn’t glare at you, but you can see like a matte style radiance.

SFIV AE on the PC is working great, and there’s nothing to report there.

749/1000 360 stick.

Really sad to see people getting banged up sticks. This is the fourth stick I have ordered from Madcatz and I’ve never received one damaged before. I am sure they will get it straightened out for you guys. As for the new stick, I am really enjoying it so far. I don’t find the slant at all uncomfortable after two hours of play.

I suppose it doesn’t have much to do with this… but I’m starting to think that whoever sold me Sanwa parts back in the original SF4 days (bought from someone I won’t mention on SRK) sold me fake parts. After hitting a local arcade and now feeling this arcade stick – the buttons are so much snappier and the joystick is looser. This stick feels really awesome, and Viper combos are coming out like butter!

I now see why you thought I was being odd after reading more posts. I didn’t realize people were having issues with the “new” sticks. They should give you a discount if it was “2nd” hand. That’s very unfortunate. I never had a problem with the quality of their fight sticks before, but then again I never ordered from pre-order. I get mine from shops or good ole Amazon, and so far I had good luck (knock on wood). Should have been advertised as pre-used not pre-order J/K!!! Hopefully it all works out for you. They need better QC maybe Mark can spread the word. Does he lead the development team or something over at MadCatz?

I received mine today, no problems. #797/1000 (360). It’s lighter than the TE, but still better than the vx/3-sa. I like it better than the OG TEs out of the box. Modding wise, the OG TEs are better. Hopefully you guys get your issues resolved.
