Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick PRO - Official Thread

Didn’t get to read all this until just now. If there is an issue, we’ll take care of it. Please message me. I apologize for any frustrations, but as always, we stand by our products. I’ll be back in the office on Tuesday. So if anyone has any issues, you know how to reach me.

Thanks for the support guys.

I just ordered mine through the Canada Gameshark Store. Thanks for clearing up the coupon confusion markman.

However, after reading the recent comments, I am not feeling very confident right now. lol -
To be honest, i have bought the the TE sticks before (round 1 & 2) and always found the quality control to be horrible.

On the round 1 and 2 sticks, the side wings would always be scratched up like hell. I remember making a post about it on SRK and most people replied with same issues. lol

Anyway, its ordered and done. Now lets wait and see how it comes out. Its nice to see Markman’s post about standing behind their products.

How is the art secured to the top people? Can we get a pic of that?

I believe it’s a sticker, kinda like the SE.

I got one and I can say it looks perfect next to the issue of the bottom right corner being not sunken in all the way… Not a huge deal but still!

I would like to say I am very interested in taking it apart trying to find a great way to mod the images and top etc… If I get bored enough I will post some pictures as I roll.

Another case of the slightly raised top bottom-right panel! Glad to hear I’m not going crazy, but sad thinking it might be an overall defect for everyone. Not a huge deal, but it is odd once you notice it…

I believe the art is secured much like the se, but with some nuts on the bottom plastic base screwing in the metal panel. In all the internal shots the plastic screw area look tapered. I would be glad to check myself, but honestly I will be adding laminated art over the original. I can see and feel the screws under the art, so I’m curious whether or not I could add TE style bolts to it… That would be cool.

Here’s a size comparison of the Fightstick Pro (I changed the buttons out already) compared to the Fightstick Tournament Edition and the Hori Real Arcade Pro V. You can see it’s smaller than the other two and is definitely a lot lighter, but it still has enough heft to it to be comfortable and stay in place on a table.

@TRiXWoN d3v is correct. It is a sticker attached to the top panel.

Not by much though, at least compared to the TE. In fact, it seems to be about the same size as a TE “S”.

How do your palms rest on the new Pro is about the same as the VX where your palms are angled or more like TE as your palms lye more flat. I usually prefer how hori designs their sticks. my hands will tingle if my wrist lays flat for too long

My palms rest more comfortably on the VX, though I find the FSP (FightStick Pro) comfortable as well. The FSP’s buttons lay roughly a half-inch further from the palm rest than the VX, but the FSP’s palm rest has a more shallow angle so the difference isn’t greatly noticeable. To me, the FSP is definitely more comfortable than the TE and IMO the best stick MadCatz has released so far.

Ive been wondering if the art on PRO will fade after a term of use :frowning: is there a way to avoid it aside from installing a plexi on it?

I’m very familiar with the type of material that the Pro Art is printed on,and I can say that it won’t noticeably fade due to use… BUT…

  1. Sunlight will kill it.
  2. It more easily peels and creates air pockets
  3. It punctures with less pressure (screw holes)

This is due to the fact that it is a metallic film sheet only, rather than cardstock pressed. You won’t be damaging it with a few months of use, but expect to treat this stick better than throwing junk on top of it like the TEs.

MadCatz’s art is pretty durable on their fightsticks since the stickers are made of a type of plastic. Your hands would have to be covered in sandpaper for it to wear, IMO. As long as you keep it out of extreme heat, like in a car on a hot day, and don’t use any harsh chemicals, I don’t see why the art wouldn’t last indefinitely.

^Thanks for the tip, hopefully it wont fade just like on my VX

How many screws hold the top panel to the body?

First?

Dual modded with ChimpSMD.

Wasn’t that bad to open up. You do have to unscrew it all the way to get access to the pcb, but its not as annoying to open up entirely like the TE is. There are 6 screw on the bottom metal panel and 12 screws inside that hold the case together.

There is a spot not too far away from the pcb that you can mount a board with a screw and some glue. A kitty or TE-Strike will not fit in it because of height limitations, although some hackery to the case might be done to overcome that. It is a TE-S like pcb.

Could I drop in an SE pcb if I planned on not using the PS home or Turbo switches? The PCBs look exactly the same connector wise, so it should snap in I hope. Thanks for the PCB view though!

I’m not really sure since I haven’t taken the sticker off, but from the slight bulges on the top panel sticker, it’s most likely six.

What’s the weight? Lighter or heavier than a V3/VX-SA? Thx!

It’s a few ounces lighter than the vx but I found that it feels more stable to play with in your lap. But I think that has more to do with the larger rubber feet
