Calling it now: It doesn’t replace the TE because it will be bundled with SF x Tekken instead of being a stand-alone product.

The design now makes sense after dev compared the stick to the namco noir tekken cab, but wouldn’t it make more sense to model the stick after the actual control panel and not the cabinet itself?

The monitor panel is the most distinguishing feature of the Noir cab.

Thats true too, maybe the stick would look more appealing if it goes all black. I guess time will tell.

Not at all, I am assuming that there are opportunities to exploit that niche and dominate that market segment (which is quite legitimate and often desirable).

But I don’t think MadCatz is out to dominate that market though. They seem to (or at least Mark seems to) have a decent respect for Hori.

Besides, the current price point sits at a very comfortable position, just under the starting price for most customs ($200 and above) - that is unless, you’re one of those folks who thinks that builders should start charging less for customs (at which the only answer you’ll get is GTFO).

BINGO. At least, this makes the most sense. They may sell them stand alone as well, but I don’t see this stick becoming the next big thing for Mad Catz, I think they will stick with the TE, the modding community loves how good of a canvas it is, and that is at least a decent chunk of extra sales. I know I plan on buying at least one more TE to add to the 2 I already have, so I’ll have 2 completely modded, and one stock Chun Li (possibly adding LED buttons, not positive). The point is I’m not alone in buying multiple TE’s just for the fact that it is out of the box, great for modding. The new one, of course people will find a way, but it doesn’t look as ready to be changed drastically.

On another note, I have seen the stick in person at NCR, didn’t see it too well, but I think I like it, not as much as the TE, but it looks good. Diff. color though, red looks bleh.

PLEASE make a black one in production soon MarkMan! A black FS Pro would be perfect for a Ghost Rider custom!

EDIT: Is there a possibility we can get official art templates before it’s release? It would be helpful for those who are already looking to buy/mod it.
