Street Fighter World Warrior | Resurrection | Assassin's Fist Thread

I thought Oni was just a What if thing like “What if Akuma looked like a blue Super Sayajin?” and bam we got Oni.

lol

I always thought it was this but according to http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Oni

Says

This is also interesting to know where the name came from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oni

In other words, perfection is Shin Akuma.

I thought that was Cyber Akuma lol

Isn’t there a Shin Oni too?

That’s the boss character in AE right? Though I suppose by lore it should just be Oni and the one we play is an Unshin Oni or something.

Am very amped on how they are gonna portray Bison in the next season, like i would love the first half the season on him training up to young guy > present day and how he got control of the psycho power, then the other start of SF1/ World Warrior, this show needs to amp up Bison as a serious bad ass after the epic job they did with Akuma.

orite finally got to see this. First of all, amazing job guys, especially given the budget. Was thoroughly entertained throughout the whole film.

I just had one or two very small nitpicks. Firstly, young gouken looks quite different to regular gouken, especially when you compare their noses its quite a contrast.

Secondly I agree with akuma looking a bit off. I think his face needed less WWE ultimate warrior paint and his nose should have been hooked shape.

fireballs were well done, although the shoryukens were a bit OTT especially when you combined they way they were pronounced. So if they went that high up it should have been shooorryyuuukkeeennn or something liket hat, instead of just “um, shoryuken”. either lengthen the shout or dont make it go quite as high. The Gouki bits were actually really good and you kinda had some sympathy for him.

Anyways, as I said amazing job otherwise, two nose jobs required and a tone down of shoryuken otherwise would have got 10/10 for me. 9/10.

wouldnt be surprised if you dont see bison at all. since hes supposed to be a mysterious shadowy figure manipulating people. like see some terrorist angle side pics. if i was doing it…you wouldnt see bison til season 3 during the actual tournament in some fashion.

Well in the same sense that there’s a Shin Gouken and Shin Seth as well as these are simply the boss versions with different properties and frame data.

Hmmm didn’t I read somewhere that season 2 is put on hold for 3 years or something because they wanted to do something else? Or maybe I’m mixing it up with something else I read.

But I figure if they were to get funded like tomorrow or something, they wouldn’t hesitate to shoot a season 2 right? Excited to see who plays Chun Li since we already have Guile, lol.

That was the initial plan but SFAF has been such a huge success that right now it makes more sense to not put the brakes on this train just yet. The producers are in talks with Capcom, but we probably won’t hear anything for awhile.

I hope they go up to the SF3 series. By that time they will have a bigger budget and we get to see Gill in all of his L.A. gang colors glory. LOL!!!

I want a Yang and Yun story.

Overall, I definitely loved the series. They blended seriousness, comedy, old references, and pretty much everything well. There were some slight inadvertent corniness though, namely the Shoryuken and Raging Demon moves. But honestly, I don’t blame them. How can you make a dude launch into the air, spinning around 360 with his fist above his head look super cool? I especially like the fireballs. It’s a small thing I noticed, but I like how they sort of enlarge then compress the fireballs before they throw them.

There was one thing I disliked, but I believe it involves the actual Street Fighter canon:

[details=Spoiler]I think Ryu should have won/be the better student. Maybe it’s because I’ve always liked Ryu more, so I’m biased. But trying to take that aside, Ryu has been studying under Gouken longer than Ken. In this story, he’s been the more disciplined one and even learned the hadouken more quickly. To me, this means Ryu is more adept and therefore should be better than Ken. But to add onto this, Ryu tapped into the dark hadou, giving him an additional power boost. But somehow Ken still won.

A question I have is why does Ken’s Shoryuken have his flaming hand? Is that his manifestation of dark hadou in this story line?[/details]

[details=Spoiler]
Well when Ken explained his ki he said his felt warm almost hot as opposed to runs cool feeling. His ki probably manifested as flame in his srk rather than ryu using the cool ki to channel into his metsu hadouken? Slight guess at the end.

Spoiler

America always wins.

I saw scott adkins at the mcm london comic con… cool dude

[details=Spoiler]Ryu had also been the older and more disciplined student in the original cannon and that was part of his problem. Too much discipline hurts creativity and imagination. Ryu relies more on copying than adapting, which means he doesn’t make full use of his talent.

Ken is a more confident individual, so he adapts his fighting techniques to suit his strengths, while Ryu who tends to doubt himself performs a “safer” more generic form of ansatsuken that doesn’t suit him as much.

The fireball part isn’t indicative of general skill either, it mirrors their personalities. Ryu is more reserved distant and insecure, so he has a natural affinity to the hadouken which is a projectile attack. Ken is more confident, passionate and even brash, so a more personal close ranged attack like the shoryuken suits him better. That’s why his ki is hot and that’s how his shoryuken catches fire.

As far as the cannon goes, Ken was the better fighter till he met Elisa and stopped training. Ryu surpassed him during the SF2 period and is now a better fighter (if you ignore 3rd strike Ken that is :P). [/details]
