ken was stronger in the beginning. used to give ryu dat whooping, but then in ryuās desire to be strongerā¦he eventually discovered the dark hadou and his other shenanigans began.
There is one thing that I have seen that is consistent in every iteration of Ryu: This dude cannot take a loss. He is the most mentally unstable character in SF. Dude loses it over everything. One of the funniest instances Iāve ever seen is when he was in a cabin that Ken got for him and he had a nightmare in which is he was fighting people he faced before. Like Sagat, Adon, Gen, Rog, AKuma. And each person would shift into another person and question him. Leading to Akuma SGSing Gouken. Ryu starts crying and Ken opens the door. What happens? Ryu goes SNH and punches Ken THROUGH the door. Earlier than that, he had a dream in which he was arguing with Ken. He cried about how Gouken was a father to him and threw Ken at a wall. He then charges up a SNH Hadouken and blasts Ken through the wall. He then comes to his senses. There is actually a hole in the wall. Ryu launches Hadoukens in his damn sleep.
which is weird since he won those battles. like the dude keeps constantly questioning himself. ken is always just like chill yo. ryu is his own worst enemy.

My theory is that is all the result of lack of sex :P. Ken becomes a worse fighter when he meets Eliza. AF confirms this as Gouki dumps Sayaka in order to transform, itās practically cannon by now. If you want to master Ansatsuken, donāt get laid, ever. Furthermore, it seems Ryu needs this sexual frustration in order to channel it to his ume srks, thatās why they do so much damage ;).

Ryu is unstable in pretty much every SF work save for the SF Alpha and Final manga. I was just pointing out how ridiculous it is and how they abuse it as a crutch.
Ken could always come back and whop that ass though. Ryu can go mountain monkey all he wants, hes still 2nd level compared to Ken. Cant out train natural ability if the other guy steps up his game as well as you do.
That said I always though Ken was a shitty friend, I mean hes popular with the woman, got billions of dollars etc, why doesnt he hook Ryu up with some asian chicks or something? Letting his broke ass travel the globe all johnny apple seed n shit. And they always meet up and they are usually the same strength soā¦ why be a stingy sonofabitch Ken?

Wasnt really troll post, put it in the context of AF, Ken has a more natural grasp of things early on, as somebody said much better in a post a page or so back, hes got much better control of his agression. If you follow on from this, Ken would be a much better fighter if he went down the same path of Ryu.
Instead of goes back into the real world and takes care of shit, Ryu arguably goes emo with his snh problems where as he might have dealt with it a lot easier if he just went to the USA to train.
In all the follow up games, its not like Ken is that much weaker than Ryu for his lack of dedicated training, in some instances hes better. Am just saying overall Ken is the better fighter.

Say what? From the context of AF, Ryu has more discipline and can control his ki better which is why heās able to do a better hadouken. Kenās impatient and shows his anger easily thatās why his shit gets unleashed in his flaming shoryuken.

Crazy Ken was a character in that nintendo bullshit, and obviously inspired after SF2AM, which is the inspiration for AF, but dont think the character is canon. Unless hes gonna get acid flashbacks from his messing around with goukis notes in S2 lol.

No he is not according to Capcom. The SF2 anime in general isnāt considered cannon. The official story is that the one that got brainwashed by Vega/Dictator was Ryu. That doesnāt mean that AF canāt go the violent Ken route. What i am most curious about though is the status of AF as the new official cannon. Joey has said that they were talking with Capcom about it but i am not sure what was the conclusion, if there ever was one.
Thatās the whole point. Ansatsuken is a way to channel your anger through a martial art. Ken does that just fine. The fact that he is outspoken doesnāt mean he lacks discipline, itās simply not the same thing. Ken wasnāt angry when he unleashed the srk, he was desperate, Ryu is for all intends and purposes his brother. The fact that he managed to pull this off at that precise moment shows strength of will and not the opposite as you imply.
Ryu hides his aggression but is too scared to channel it in battle, thatās not discipline, thatās insecurity. He clearly doesnāt think he can control his anger and he is proven right when he succumbs to the SNH. Later he travels the world, making a journey of self discovery that finally allows him to find the inner balance that he lacked, reaching his full potential, but itās obvious that from a mental standpoint, Ken is a more natural talent for martial arts.
Nowhere has it said that Ryu is angry in any way. Plus, the pointers Gouken gives each of them doesnāt mention anything about anger. Why would he give frivolous advice? He wants each to be at their 100% and told them things that would help. For Ryu, thatās to ālet go of fear,ā not ācontrol your anger.ā
for some reason i distinctly remember an evil ken in a sf game. i cant tell you which one but i swearrr he appears and bison is behind him for a second to imply the psycho power. but this was so long ago i couldnt tell you which sf game.

Anyhoo, I just watched the whole thing today. This honestly feels like the āBatman Begins/X-men FCā of SF.
IMO, this is the best SF adaptation since the SF2 animated movie in the 1990ās.
Also, only the 2nd watchable live action adaptation since MK1!
The only negatives are minor. Bits of acting and the ending was a bit anti climactic.
Great job to all involved!
I know Iām in the minority, but I would love to see a season with Guile/Charlie/Chun backstory.
I really hope this comes out on Blu ray, maybe even by Christmas this year.
