You have to remember however that Ryu tapped into SNH during the final rite of their training. As Gouken stated, after that, there was nothing that he could teach that they couldn’t learn themselves in their Musha Shugyo - something he told them to prepare for even before Ryu had awakened the SNH. I mean, at this point Ken had already created a new variation of the Shoryuken (albeit inadvertently). As for Ryu, IMO the key to dealing with the SNH seems to be more about keeping him from bottling stuff inside. Heck, the Musha Shugyo may be the key as it is a journey of self discovery, just like how Gouken concieved of the Mu no Hadou during his own Musha Shugyo.

gouken has never been beyond hiding stuff from ken and ryu. he has flat out lied to ken til he called him out on it.

UDON comics were canon, am trying to remember if Gouken completed their training before his disappearance, am not 100% sure but I do believe they finish their training and kick off SF1 tournament. This immediately triggers the Bison noticing Ryu event to kick off SF2.
I thought in AF Gouken rushed them out the door at the end, but honestly dont think it makes a difference cause Ryu/Ken they are ready, they learned everything and can only polish their hadou techniques.

I was unaware of the Udon stuff being canon as well. If it was I have a feeling it’s not anymore, Hell Gouken looks pretty different in the comics compared to SF4.
Yea apparently towards the end of the SF1 run Erik Ko impressed Capcom that much that they sanctioned that shit, then gave them a bunch of work to do with official SF products.

I think Udon are in the process of doing SFIII right now according to their twitter, they have done SF1, SF2, SF2T, SF4 and some SF3 specials
