Second Impact was soooo good to look at. Vivid backgrounds and lively action show the hallmark of a great game company. Capcom truly mastered this incorperation and SI is their way to say “blah” to everyone else.
There was no post fight grading, which was something to love. And the soundtrack? Get On A Train, Bottoms Up, Crowded Street, Cave Man(reminds me of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and The Flame rank the best soundtrack songs ever in a Street Fighter game. Comparable to SSF II and EX.
INFINITE’s 3S involvement was not as prominent to SF and was short lived by the two to three sounds by him and the composers. Rappers should pwn on game soundtracks, not show up to be overshadowed by the filler music.
Ive been playing street fighter my entire life. I played third strike a few years ago when i had a dreamcast, but i got rid of it for some reason. So i started to play it again when the anniversary collection came out. If you think that i only started getting into it a year ago then your completely wrong.
True. =/ Sad, but true. It just seemed more personal when you beat someone in NG and 2I, now all you get is their select pic and a fucking grade. I wouldn’t’ve minded 2I Hugo with 3S’s voice.
If you can find an arcade version of SF3:NG (hopes for emu). You should check out Necro in that version, then check out Capcom’s pathetic excuse for Necro in DI. In DI his electric snake doesn’t have the invincibility it had in the arcade, not to mention he doesn’t LEAP AT HIS OPPONENT when he does the slam dance like he did in arcade. There were more problems with him, but it’s been so long since I’ve played DI that I’ve forgotten them. These were the two most glaring flaws in it that I remember though.
I used to be really into 2I, but I stopped enjoying it so much and Ibuki and Akuma became ridiculous (I didn’t get deep into fighters until the late-3S era). I do miss having two Denjin and having each character on his/her own backdrop, though.
Also, there’s a SF3:NG machine in the arcade at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The sticks were quite fucked up when I was last there, though.
cenotaph:
yeah i’m pretty sure 12 is bottom of the barrel tier. all you can really do with him is just fly around and be annoying. but w/e i dont even play the game
1 year is nothing
