Street Fighter III Double Impact or Third Strike?

Anyway, as I understand it, 2I at high levels can get pretty…pretty…gay. But I’m sure it’s a decent game, especially considering they changed Akuma’s divekick for the DC version.

Those win/lose screens prove Elena is the biggest whore in SF, damnit!

Did you know? Right after making 2I, Capcom showed a version of 2I with Chun-li in it before changing everything for 3S. I wish I could get my hands on that. I like 2I way better for presentation and stuff to do. It’s more fun to fight your rival in an extra battle, watch Akuma come in and Raging Demon your last opponent who you were just talking trash to and then resurrect, get yellow-eyed and pissed when you beat him badly enough than get an extra battle with Q and run patterns to get a M.S.F. grade.

the biggest whore in sf is chun li, not elena
chun in 2i would have ruined it just like her presance ruins 3s to a degree. fuck chun li

I don’t really like the ‘its not in tournaments so fuck it’ philosophy. If you like it and you can get some comp in then play what you like. Who cares if it’s tourney played or not?

The real reason you shouldn’t play it is that its a SF3 game. =D

don’t we all wish we could…?

OK I got a question:
Which do think is MORE balanced? DI or 3S? For some reason I’d choose DI.

I haven’t played DI so I can’t comment…although I like the look of the super BGs.

3S easily. Chun, Yun, and ken are all tops in 3S but they’re beatable. Akuma and Ibuki literally lock down the rest of the cast on 3S when played right so that they don’t have a chance. Sean gets a nod for the retarded damage and links he has, but it’s a pretty bad slaughter across the board for everyone else. Akuma’s dive kick alone shuts down half the cast for free.

2I has Hugo’s corner infinite.

basically people seem to want 3rd Strike dressed up like 2nd Impact, maybe with Sean and Twelve tweaked a little.

also, 3S had jab+short for throws, strong+forward for UOHs, fierce+roundhouse for taunts. there’s much less room for telegraphing.

You’re a fucking idiot.

I’ve only seen it used against Gill, does it work on someone else?

actually hes right that means you werent around when 2i was a tourney game and was being played so you don’t realize how broken that game is

wtf??

any pics of that??? pleeeease

oh yeah
i forgot about fighting akuma and then Shin Akuma’s entrance. That shit was hot. I miss the hell out of the days of fighting unlockable/UNPLAYABLE bosses. In that way I like 2I

Against everyone.

Right here, my man. And Q is getting more and more popular. Seems like half the people I talk to nowadays want to learn him, and in any case there are way more people in the Q forum and way more people with Q avatars than there used to be. I don’t know if it’s the SBO footage or what, but he’s been popping up a lot more recently. Maybe it’s just that people are figuring out that 3S isn’t as unbalanced as they thought.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, 3S > SI in every way but the following:

Sean
Maybe Ibuki’s super choices (Hashin-Sho)
Subjective and unimportant-for-gameplay aesthetic stuff

And personally I much prefer the graphics and backgrounds of 3S to those of SI. But hey, if you wanna play SI, that’s cool. I did for a while, until I realized it just plain wasn’t as good.

That’s enough for me! Sign me up for the next 2i tourney now!

Wow… More than one WHOLE year? You must be l33t now! Can you please teach me how to play 3s?

(Of course, if you’re lying, and you’ve only been playing vigorously for 364 days, I don’t want to learn from you.)

strakka, make me l33t too!!11
