Ya, no doubt. I actually met a guy tonight who was the standard scrub Bison flying all over hell against my Dhalsim, and he dropped when I won. I ended up facing him again a few matches later and he IMMEDIATELY starts bitching:
Scrub: "Aren’t you that cheap guy I just fought?"
Me: "Aren’t you the guy who just dropped on me?!"
Scrub: "You’re that cheap guy that was using throws. That’s cheap man!"
Me: "Didn’t you just drop on me when I won?"
Scrub: “Ohhh boo hoo. Quit bein’ so cheap!”
Sadly I then lost to his scrub ass Honda hands:sad: I actually feel ashamed at how many Honda/Chun spammers I lost to tonight. Even on a good connection, there’s enough lag that my stuff doesn’t seem to work right all of the time and I end up eating a lot of damage. My Sim would never have lost to they guys on the arcade.
Oh well…on a more positive note, most of my games tonight were actually good games. So, GG’s to anyone I playwho didn’t drop on me :wgrin:
I dunno if this is a valid tactic but its worked for me every time Ive come up against scrubby Chun+Hondas. Block the first part then j+rh. Most of them are too stupid to stop and continue mashing, free j+rh’s until you win :sigh:
Shit, that’s all I do with sim lol. Btw gg’s to dream and tech monkey last night.
The connections are good when playing people close. East to west is pushing it though. I played other peeps in ny and had really good connections with them. Not perfect like offline but it was very close. I still think CFE had the best netcode of all the games.
Thanks to Vega for hosting the Siberian Rape Party for me, my friend Alakaiser, and some random scrubs. Best part was when one of the more annoying randoms picked your character and dropped after getting raped the first round.
where are all the players at ? i’ve lost a total of 2 games in 3 days of playing this scrubby game. i try to join random quarter matches to watch a game to see if anyone has atleast a clue and only 2 people i’ve played is z and rsigley i think. anyhow bbiab
I had a horrible night last night. I went from 53 to 81 in less than 4 matches. Lost to the most random bs ever. I am going to hold off playing in rank matches and wait for a good six button controller. This Xbox pad is crap! gg’s to those I have played recently.
Things that need to be addressed:
A good 6 button SF style controller should be released for the 360.
Ranked matches should only happen if the ping is good enough for a near lag free match.
People should be able to atleast SEE who they are going to play in a Ranked match. Nobody wants to play someone that pulls the plug when they lose.
If a person pulls then the puller should take an auto loss.
Button config before each match OR have custom button configs saved for each fighter.
Find a solution for the 15 sec. wait time for the resync process.
Have a winstreak counter for the quarter match system.
I played for hours last night and again only a few games had noticeable lag. It’s going to vary from opponent to opponent. The other players watching the quarter matches do not effect the game at all while you are playing(atleast for me). Right now the biggest problem I see is the lack of a good 6 button sf style pad for the system. If anyone wants to link up just let me know.

Does this mean SFA titles and other 2D oldies will possibly be considered for XBLA release in the future? I hope so
There are size restrictions for XBLA. Something along the lines of 80mb I think. It would make sense for the limit to be pushed a little higher, especially since there are demo’s out there over 1gb. Id like to see some other fighters available tho. Might be pushing it but this arcade perfect conversion of ST from CCC2 would be fun!
Oh and incase some of you dont know, Castlevania:SOTN has been confirmed for XBLA :wgrin:
Hey man, those were gg’s. I was kinda on fire today and had a little better luck with 360’s than I’ve had so far online. But yeah, Zangief is a real meanie in these old SF2 games. So Alka was a friend of yours? He hung in there like a true gamer and kept trying different stuff to keep his distance. I respect that. Most just quit after 1 match or just drop whenever.
Also don’t worry about the freezup. My dumb system has done that to me before too on other games so it happens for sure.
yeah ggs, this is my fav/best game next to t5:Dr, and sometimes mvc2.
i ran into this pretty good/decent rog player, named raysofownage. He’s comedy cuz he’s black and talks a lot. He took out my rog, guile, ryu, and chun. Sagat got the job done though. It’s pretty hard to react to jump ins on live, you have to anticipate it, comboing after dizzies can be hard too because you gotta push the first button a bit earlier to account for button lag, and sometimes that messes up the timing of the rest of the moves.
BTW jae, just a tip: when you’re using guile, i think i noticed you using rh flash kick a lot, you should just stick with short/forward, because rh doesn’t knockdown on standing characters.
Hi everyone, new poster here…I just thought you guys might be interested to know this tidbit of information I found out about SFII HF for Xbox Live Arcade
Explanation of the LAG problem in XBL Street Fighter II
Today I played a bit of Street Fighter II quarter matches when I got an invite from a friend who lived in the same country and area as me. So I set up a match with him, and lo and behold, the lag that I usually experienced while playing SFII online suddenly disappeared. The gameplay was as if the guy was right next to me; the gameplay was very smooth. It shocked us both! We were able to pull off combos that normally we couldn’t execute before.
So we both concluded that the speed of SFII online is very, very dependent on your location. Since me and my friend live in the same country and in nearly the same area, the speed of the game was arcade-like; in fact, it felt pretty fast, a bit faster than SFII HF single player.
In conclusion, if you want to have lag-free games, look for friends who are living in an area that is near you (same state, same town or same country). The farther your opponent is, the worse your game gets.
That said, I hope that Capcom can improve the netcode so that games in SFII can be truly global, and won’t be limited by distance. If FPS games with all the things that occur in three dimensional space can pull it off, I’m sure that a two dimensional fighting game can be tweaked to have better net code.
