My guess:

Abel’s moves now are a mix of his specials, Heartless is a CoD to Falling sky on steroids, and Soulless is the same but with an element of TT. Im guessing its gonna be something that incorporates Wheal Kick in some way.

Im also hoping for an AA Ultra too, with MERCILESS priority :|.

I think they should add a little hop to falling sky so that Abel has a decent anti-air.

This is more what I was thinking – would be awesome if you could kara it demon style off of his overheard RH, but that’d just be wayyyyyy over powered lol

The “careless” suggestion would be interesting… and would fuel the whole Abel/Remy connection, as I believe his SA3 was something similar, yes ?

has anyone talked about making his wheel kick completely safe? none of his moves ive found against my friends when training isnt completely. all i want is just one. preferably wheel kick. discuss

You can space wheel kick to make it safe on hit, and safer on block… with the right spacing, you can make it so a roundhouse wheel kick is unpunishable because it will only be -3 or -4 and you are too far away for most characters to punish without their super.

I would rather have the startup time on it reduced across the board, or have roundhouse wheel kick knock down on hit.

i discovered very early in Abel that Wkick was not safe, had to learn how to use it like sakeido just posted.

super Abel; i dont think Wkick should be safe, it does good damage, i think it would become a new Tiger Knee if not worse. If any change to Wkick i’d say it should go over low Tiger Shot and maybe make it more anti-projectile on start.

overall im still a proponent of buffing FallingSky :smiley:

ultra animation, he does a 3 tornado throws, and on the third, wheel kicks and lands on them

not against rufus. the tornado spinning move still hits me from across the screen. lol

True, you should be punished from randomly Ex-rolling straight into them. However, it’s when I’m rolling away and get grabbed from behind that annoys me. Maybe the back of Abel should be throw invulnerable when you Ex-roll?

EX Roll is perfect how it is. If you get thrown, it’s because your opponent anticipated. If you had rolled through a move with any recovery on it, you wouldn’t be able to be thrown. If you get grabbed from behind, it’s either because your opponent didn’t attack, or they pressured with a light attack, in anticipation of your roll, so they could throw it.

Either way, they deserve the throw.

This notion that Abel should just get a move that gets him out of everything free is silly.

I think just for the zangief match-up on its own they’ll improve his anti-air falling sky, and EX roll.

The grab from behind situations I’m referring to are when a character does a deep jump in/cross up attack (Balrogs, Zangiefs). You can avoid the attack with an ex-roll but then their grabs are guaranteed. Seriously though, if it weren’t for the Zangief match-up I wouldn’t be asking for this buff.

Again, the roll costs meter so technically, it’s not free, whereas other characters can.

That’s part of the match. That’s why they attack in that way. It’s covering the option of EX Roll. If they cover your option, they deserve to punish it.

And you’re complaining about waking up. That’s what it means to get knocked down. You should be in a shitty situation. That’s why you need to not get knocked down. In some situations, you should be fucked. That’s what SF is. You play to put your opponent into situations where they’re kinda fucked. That’s one reason SF4 sucks… there aren’t enough of those situations, and there are too many braindead ways to escape from situations where you should just be fucked… or you’re able to turn the tides by just doing one free move (FADC Ultra). Shit is silly.

In this case, Abel is just kinda fucked. Too bad. You don’t fix that by giving him a move that just lets him skate out of any situation. That’s dumb.

I do see your point, but when your best wake-up option is to block or roll (both defensive), you can’t help but at least want it beefed up.

I don’t think it’s going to be a separate second Ultra.
It’ll probably just be two sets of animations that denote the two levels of ultra [half and full].

Don’t yell at me if this is a crap suggestion but I’d like EX CoD to be a bit faster, allowing you to hit through moves such as Gief’s lariat or Akuma’s s.HK consistently without taking a second hit. I know you can get through some (most?) of the time but having a less risky option would be good. Not so fast as to hit through everything but certain moves like those I mentioned.
