Street Fighter 4 Dash - Abel

Whenever capcom releases the next edition of the game, its likely that many of the characters will get some tweaks/rebalancing.

There is already a thread for what people wish Abel would be given. I’m more interested in whether people think Abel would be buffed or nerfed in a new edition, and what they think are likely to be changed.

I imagine that pro players like busta and HAV and the Juice are going to have more insight on what might get nerfed/buffed next go-round, and I’m really curious to hear those thoughts.

I’m obviously omega-new at all this, but I can’t help but think they might improve the “priority” of FS, since it seems to have been designed for AA. But that they might nerf his ultra since it’s so easy to juggle into and it does so much damage.

anyways, I’m bored so if you don’t want to speculate then pay no mind, sorry to clog the boards.

lol , watch capcom make his second ultra that old recycled one from the first beta of SF4. Just cause capcom are horsedicks , and dont feel like having creativity.

I say give him a completely savage-looking 720 command grab ultra, because that shit would be hilarious. He just knocks you down, sits on your chest, and punches you in your exposed face fifteen times.

Seriously though, yeah, either a pure AA or weird Gouken-style ultra counter is the real answer. Something that you could stick into a blockstring to annihilate mashed-out uppercuts.

I’d like an Ultra where he slams the opponent on the floor, takes his back, and proceeds to do a rear-naked choke until the timer runs out.

IMO, that’s a perfect ultra for Abel. And say, a counter for 'Gief if you have it with invincibility frames on startup and as a grab that’s higher priority than Gief’s grabs. Maybe not his ultra, but yeah.

Carrying on the AA talk about Abel, what do you guys think of jab super as a viable option? I’ve done it sometimes but not consistently. Sometimes I’m a little too slow, they’re in midair as my super comes out but manage to block it anyway. Other times the angle just isn’t right for it.
