Straight Outta Asgard, Thors thread

Well shit I hope you guys are right! As mentioned, I’d love his shockwave to be a lvl 1.

100% combo/reset idea.

Disclaimer: This is a theory.

cr. A, cr. C, Hammer spin, E, sj. Magic series, air hyper lightning tornado, KFC, sj. A, air command throw, hyper lightning tornado.

Whatcha think?

You can’t KFC in the air and as of right now you can’t combo into his command throw.

oh wow really? You can’t KFC in the air? Wow thats what I get for playing TVC to get ready for this game. Epic fail on my part.
I thought Seth said that you could combo from Command throw. I guess you can’t trust a PR guy lol.

You can’t combo into his throw, but you can combo AFTER his throw. That’s what Seth said.

you can combo from but not into.

They might change it tho’.

edit: Goddamn, just barely too slow.

Yeah thats why I put combo/reset because I wasn’t sure. It wouldn’t work anyway because you can’t KFC in the air.

I really think that all the characters have a 100%. This game is gonna be so crazy.

New idea:

cr. A, cr. C xxx hammer spin, E, magic series, that ground pound move, tornado hyper, KFC, j. A, air command throw (causes reset), launch, magic series. Probably a one meter kill since a crispy thor does 50% with 3 normals, if not then you could kill them with another tornado hyper.

blah, makes you wanna be able to try it out. I swear if the next Fight Club is SF* or closer, I’m making it a goddamn overnight trip.

*San Francisco, that is.

Yeah I feel you. Im theory fighting like hell now. Im seeing all this shit working in my head. I WANNA FIGHTCLUB IN GRAND RAPIDS!!! Or Detroit if Capcom feel like getting robbed lol. Can somebody try this if Seth decides to bring the game to a major? Is there even a major scheduled in December?

not that I can see, altho’ apparently there’s a Final Round thing on christmas day >>

what about magic series launcher magic series command throw reset, then kfc once they’re slammed on the ground, launcher magic series XX mighty strike XX super?

If anyone is going to food fight can you:

 1. Find the motion to Mighty Strike (his torpedo move). Nobody’s found it so far, but I’m starting to suspect it’s probably like Wolvy’s drill claw: any direction+A+E

 2. If you do find the motion then please test to see if it has any special properties, like if it goes through fireballs. Also see how good/bad the recovery is on block.

ill just leave this here

Storms Blue/White lightning makes it fuckin necessary for capcom to change Thor’s

Alright guys, I’ve posted another pretty in-depth character analysis based on the videos of Thor out now. Check it out here - MVC3 Character Analysis: Thor | I Speak Comics. Unfortunately the only time I got to play him was at NYCC and that place was so crazy busy I never got a chance to test anything out for myself. A couple of questions for guys that get a handle on him:
How safe is his Mighty Tornado hyper? Does it eat projectiles? Super projectiles?

Also in this vid - - at :55 he does a sort of backhanded hammer smack that combos into the Mighty Spark in the corner. Any idea what move that is? Doesn’t look like one of his standing normals.

And finally, does anyone know if the lightning around Thor’s hammer, before the Mighty Spark blast, does any damage? That might make it more useful in close combos.

It recovers instantly. Vids have shown that he can eat projectiles, not that that’s a useful property anyway.

That is a standing normal. Don’t know the command, but it’s been seen in several vids.

Yes. It’s actually shown in that exact time in the aforementioned video.

Good call bro. Everything was happening so fast, lightning blasting everywhere, I didn’t even notice it. Also the eating of projectiles on the Mighty Tornado was just out of curiosity. Looks like that sucker could eat anything.

Don’t know if it was already mentioned, but Mighty Smash can easily cross the opp up if it goes over them. So if Thor has no fundamentals, he’ll at least have one trick, heh.

lol, someone is playin the game wrong if Thor is in a situation to cross him/her up

There were actually 2 or 3 matches at Food Fight where someone was playing Thor pretty decently. Certainly wasn’t what I’d call “pro” play, but nobody should be expecting that at this stage. Anyway, Thor was actually doing some impressive stuff with his damage potential in the hands of people who knew how to move him around and combo properly. He almost started to look kinda quick. And once, he even turned the match around, killing 2 of the opposing team and bringing the third one down low enough to win via timeout.
