Storm Q&A- Make it snappy, My beloved T'Challa awaits

Also was wondering how do you land a typhoon special into a hailstorm super after you do a combo into a knockdown. Trying but nothing is connecting. :frowning:

float L and float S are both great overheads, i usually use it after a dash up cr.l or an addf s. if you use the float L just combo H after it before you land and you will be able to dash up for the follow up

you have to be a little closer to the ground then her usual air combos. find a way of getting them closer to the ground before your last S in your combo, a good way to do this is hitting them with an H on the way up from a launcher then when you hit the peak of your jump you air dash down and hit them on the way down again this way you can go into a jump loop with them still in a launched state so your next S will grant a hard knockdown, or try to keep them close to the ground when you launch them for example hitting them with s then fly cancel while dante jam session, cold star, hidden missiles or another lockdown type of assist that lasts a while. from there you can go into a h dash h loop close to the ground so when you land you have enough time to do the otg typhoon.

How many reps can you do with the air dash loop? I can only get 3 and then the dummy pops out.

You get four

Does anyone know how to get storm to attack an opponent on the correct side after square-dashing over the top of them?

Everytime I square dash over someone and attack, storm keeps attacking the direction I was facing originally. How do I get her to turn around after the square dash?

auto correct isnā€™t in this game like in marvel 2. You have to guess your mix up correctly or move fast enough for the game to not register your crossup so you can confuse them more. I.E. force an air tech dash under jump straight up (you will still be facing the direction you dashed) then air dash backwards :s:.

Iā€™ve seen fanatiq do it with magneto in one of his videos on twitch.

He said something about buffering the dash with qcf or qcb? Then inputting the dash and the attack will come out on the correct side. He was basically square dashing with magneto and getting S to come out correctly over and over again.

Iā€™ll see if I can find that video again and link it. Iā€™m hoping storm can do something similar.

Edit: here is the video.

He does it with magneto at around 6 minutes.

What does Storm do to counter those who try to lame her out?
Iā€™m new with Storm but Iā€™m using her on various teams such as Storm/Akuma/Morrigan and Storm/Akuma/Doom.

I fight a Taskmaster in Player Match who zoned her out pretty good. I also fight a Ghostrider backed by Hidden Missiles and he was killing me.

What assist are you using? Against GR you can out zone him with TK :m: whirlwinds and lightning spheres and punish doom with hailstorms once he comes out there. Donā€™t forget you can use Fair and Foul wind to prevent him from jumping in with j:s: so eventually youā€™ll take him out of his pattern allowing you thinking space. Taskmaster is almost the same. Whirlwinds go through his arrows if I remember right. You really have to pay attention to how heā€™s throwing his arrows. If heā€™s zoning you then there will be gaps in his keepaway to allow you to progress. Again using your assist help.

Whatā€™s everyoneā€™s opinions on using Lightning Attack as an anti air?

Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using Tapatalk 2

Lighting Attack works for me as an anti airā€¦I havenā€™t had a substantial amount of matchup experience with Storm [sheā€™s on my secondary team] to see what beats it, but a lot of times it works for me.

I also use Light Lighting Sphere against those who want to control the horizontal ground game.

Iā€™ve been using lightning attack as well with much success. I been recently working on anti air based lightning attack combos that way itā€™s not just a random LA anti air. Might as well punish when you can right? Iā€™m assuming the :l: lightning sphere works great against rush down characters correct?

Itā€™s decent. My Storm squad is her on point with Akuma and Dr. Strange. I use the Bolts to keep them honest from full screen and then jump in the air and throw :l: lightning sphere. Akumaā€™s tatsu assist is really my answer to heavy rushdown though.

I see. I went in lab yesterday and worked with it some to at least see if I could combo after it, which is possible. Iā€™ll have to find a way to incorporate it into my play. Thanks

its kind of tricky but you can combo from it. once i hit a random sphere dashed down forward and comfired it. and another time i hit trish in mid air dash foward and confirmed into LA>lightning storm. but thats only twice out of the bunch of times i tried and got thrown out of me trying to combo from it lolā€¦

You can get full combos off it but the scaling is shit. Itā€™s just one of those options to have when you need to get a random hit confirm

Is there any point to Elemental Rage anymore? Also, what options do I have to safely cover Sentinel drones and allow myself to get in for a hi/lo mixup?

Edit: Another question: Whatā€™s her down+TAC infinite like? What TAC combos does she have? Is it even worth TACing into her?

You can apparently use it to catch Astral Vision Morrigan before she fly cancels her standing Soul Fist, which removes all the other projectiles from the screen.

Elemental Rage is simply a punish super. I think it has like one frame of start up and reaches up to fullscreen. Itā€™s good in those matches that Storm canā€™t get in on because people are playing keepaway. Itā€™s downfall is the fact she canā€™t combo after it and it doesnā€™t do the greatest of damage but itā€™s a cinematic that can help you avoid chip.

As for her infinite, just keep in mind itā€™s another tool to use and take it for what itā€™s worth. You canā€™t be mad at a tool that builds your meter to max before the opponent. If I remember right I started from 0 on both sides and did enough of the infinite to get 5 bars after doing a long Spidey combo which built at least a bar and a quarter first. By the time I killed the opponent I think they only had a little more than 3 and a half bars

i use elemental rage it to avoid chip but i also use zero/dante so i usually get a full punish anywhere on screen if i have a character alive and 2 bars from most chip situations or badly placed beam supers like akumas or dormā€™s. its a great way to shut down offence too in bad situations like when your opponent knows missles/drones are comming so they blindly rush you down, hit then with an elemental rage, dhc into something you can combo from and kill them, or dhc into a beam/fullscreen super, pop xfactor and punish the assist if hes still on screen. i just wish you could xfactor out of elemental rage.
