Hey, if anyone’s still monitoring this thread, I’d really like to play Storm, but I have no idea what I’m doing. I was wondering if anyone could hold my hand for a bit, or point me in the direction of where I can get started. She looks really fun and would definitely make for a great basis for a second team.
Hi there, I recognize u from the jill forums, although i just made an account to reply your question i have to say i ve been coming to this and other forums for a long time now.
Storm is a really good character, people dont choose her because of her damage output, she can get damage around 700k but requieres strict timing and execution, but hey u r a jill player so no shouldnt have much trouble in that department.
Now on the good side, she has what i believe the BEST MOBILITY in the game!!! so that is reason enough for being a good character to choose from the cast.
where u can get stated, well i strongly suggest by watching xero18 and chris matrix combos, and as u will see her best position is second for also the best dhc in the game. Mobility wise fanatiq is just unstopabble with beyonzo, although is hard to find footage from long sessions from fanatiq on his stream i suggest to look at team hazmat archives, about a couple of months ago he played storm at his best in long sets with the people from that stream.

I have storm in my collection of x’s in my mag xxx doom, and I love er in my slot. Since I run her with doom/missiles, I was wondering if she has a good confirm up in the air when missiles catch them jumping. I assumed it would involve, like, jH adf jH or something, but I can’t seem to flow an air to air hit into a ground combo. Any ideas?
Also, while I’m posting, I find that storm, much more than anyone else, seems to let her ground chains drop somehow. Like missiles will hit and ill dash in and cLMHS, or maybe a few cLs into something… is there an ideal sequence to get to my bnb off of stuff like assists connecting, or maybe combos not starting from point blank? I’m trying to think of situations in which this occurs. Addf jS’s connecting, stuff like that.

Name of the game in UMVC3 is damage. If you don’t do enough damage to do like 800k or more with proper assists, you should have more health. If you don’t have good health (lets say 900k or more), then you should be hitting for about 800k with an assist. Storm doesn’t have either of those unfortunately. Along with that, she has the curse of being, “too fair”. No good assists, no godlike shit, like unblockable set-ups or nothing like that. She is a fair character. That gives her the title I hear most people give to her as a “bad character”.
I myself think she is a solid character now. She has a good punish game and godlike mobility. Honestly, movement is all you really need, and damage shouldn’t be a problem because if you DHC into someone like Spencer, Vergil, Dante, etc. Im sure they will die anyway. And even if that is a problem, in this dumbass game, you got TAC infinites. One bad guess equals 5 bars and a dead character, with a retarded incoming mixup. Also if your movement is crispy, you can avoid getting hit and dying in one hit, which everybody does anyway lol.
Storm’s fine to me.
how do you do the input nullification glitch with storm? i saw jwong do the tac infinite but have no idea how he does that part of it. i always get lightning attack. help! thanks!<br>
Opinions on Storm as a point character for a keepaway / conservative rushdown team? <br><br>My main character is Morrigan, but Im not playing Doom. I cant stand the character. Im keeping Morrigan in the second slot to help battery for the point and for AV stuff. Havent decided on a third yet as its kinda dependant on my point (to an extent)<br><br>Just curious what yalls opinions are on Storm at point, and what assists will help her out the most, aside from missles, and cold shot. Thanks yall

</blockquote>if you were to play a storm/Morrigan runaway team without Missiles, I’d suggest Storm(whirlwind)/Morrigan(Dark Harmonizer) + an assist that occupies alot of space, maybe Log trap, Jam Session, Rapid Slash, Hsien-ko’s Pendulum, Vajra(maybe?), Haggar’s Lariat, Bolts of Balthakk, Repulsor Blast, or Drones. You could do a fake super jump and call morrigan assist 2-3 times to build meters or call your other assist to stop the opponent from intercepting you. Storm can stay in the air longer than any other character in the game so use that to your advantage.<br>
