not very close to downtown. i’m near the intersection of hampton and chippewa. i suck too, so no worries.
this is just me, allen could think different, but right now he’s top of mid tier but will probably move down once the game is figured out. i used dee jay the most between the 2 of us so ill take this.
pros - he should be played like his st counterpart. his standing lk is actually pretty good. not only does it have good range, it can be canceled into a special move to catch ppl off guard. his c. mk seemed like it was either 0 or -1 on block(allen or anyone with a guide should correct me if im wrong). godlike sweep and as we all know can be comboed into. imo, combo into a non-techable knockdown is too fucking good. anti air options that i used were c. rh (really cheap if you are good enough to land U2 after) and s. rh (comparable to momochi using s. fp with akuma). im sure he has more. jump back rh is too damn good to not use (will loose to guy’s bushin air throw thing). the area it cover is amazing.
cons - his ex fireball is hella laggy. ex up kicks doesnt have much range. not an offensive based character (could be a con for those ppl who like to rushdown). these are the only things i can think of.
p.s - i didnt go further like allen would and do combos n shit. ppl need to figure stuff out on their own. im glad to help n all, but most of the fun is figuring stuff out. practice mode in the lab with allen was god tier. dissecting new characters normals and their properties/priorities. let’s just say 1/4 of the original cast will still be better than ALL of the new characters.

guy is my new favorite character. i’ve been in training room with him and he’s so fun to play. i been working on all the different mixups i can use and what exactly can punish his strings.
i just need more matchup experience with guy. but i’m really liking him a lot. i like the way he looks a lot. if i was a street fighter character, i’d want to look like him. he has great posture, awesome hair. really defined body, peircing eyes that are to die for…if i didn’t know any better, people would think i’m gay for him. i dunno if i’ll main him because he seems like he might have problems against certain characters but he’s definitely gonna be REALLY good for people who don’t know how to play against him :).

I wholeheartedly agree with all of this.
To add to what Glen said, I think he’ll be pretty solid. He gets the option to knockdown off almost any hit, solid ultras, and his movement is at least average. Also, cr. fierce should be a decent anti-air (it was in ST) but I haven’t tested extensively.
However, I have a couple cons I’d like to add:
- loss of ST st. strong is going to hurt him. New standing fierce is NOT a good replacement, it is slow as heck and may be your ass on block as well. Not having a great anti-air during forward movement/footsie situations changes his game dramatically, forcing him to turtle up more than ever before. This loss also removes his old ST combo. He has a solid replacement though, so that point isn’t too big of a deal.
- upkicks are nerfed in this game. Very rarely will forward kicks beat anything, and even short seem to trade with random stuff. EX would then seem like his best reversal option, but they a. have negative range and b. have ridiculous recovery. I’m still using short kicks right now unless people are just asking to get EX’d.
I think the only problem DJ will have in this game is the exact one he suffered in ST. People who want to play turtle will just pick guile instead, and people who want more offense will play one of the shotos or even a more offensive character. I think he’s still stuck in that gray area.
man… getting all the colors in super is so annoying… you have to get it SEPARATELY for every single character unlike vanilla… btw, guy’s super cancel combo after hozanto can be done anywhere; doesn’t have to be in the corner, and… guy <3 <3 <3 rose… his ending is hilarious. guy is like… “yooo, put dat gal down, and I’ll let ya walk away”, and bison is like “YES MY LORD!”…L:rofl:L:rofl:L my side hurts…

Got my PS3 copy of Super. As some of you know on Sat the PS3 version had an issue with slowdowns when getting trophies during gameplay. I installed the game on my hard drive and that issue appears to be gone. Can anyone else with the PS3 version confirm no slowdowns when getting trophies if the game is installed?

That good. So if any are used in a future tournament, people need to make sure they install the game. And I know some people don’t do that.
The Gamestop I went to didn’t do a tournament at all. They did have SSFIV demo for us to play and it was so stupid. Only 1 round fights and not all the characters were playable…not even all the new ones…but all the stages were there. I only lost once cuz they TV was laggy as shit and I missed hella inputs…on a PS3 pad. I had better execution on a stick than I did on that tv But yea, a could here some of them complaining about me using Ryu while I was playing. That made whoopin their asses so much more sweeter.

Jay- dude all u gotta do is play versus mode to open the characters. Even easier you can select two chars right, and then immediatly quit out. You earn colors and taunts by doing this. Just play as em.
