Thanks, Warden. That was what I’m looking for.
How’s his super??? Does it have any use?

How’s his super??? Does it have any use?
I know, right?
It does nice damage, and you can easily combo it after his FF chain (cancel the HK) OR just do it after you finish the chain in a corner (you could probably cancel a hozanto into it as well, haven’t tried that yet). It looks like a nice AA, but I haven’t even thought of trying it yet with all his other options. Really, most of your meter will go to EX hurricane or hozanto, or cancels so you can land the ultra. The only thing is, in most situations where you could use it (in the corner), you can also just use your ultra. But if you’re midscreen or you don’t want to risk messing up the FADC, the super is a good alternative, it does as much damage or more.
EDIT - oh yeah, sometimes when you do this in the corner it doesn’t finish…every hit of the super has to connect for the next hit to activate. I’m not sure what the difference is in the setup between getting all the hits and a few of the hits (if they float too high an attack will whiff and the combo will stop), so keep that in mind - it might not be good as an AA.
wOOt! I finished all the trials for everyone~ some of the combos are pretty cool while some of them are just practically useless…lol
btw, guy’s grab ultra is not very good… you can jump out of it after the flash… in the corner, you can do his s. mp, s. fp into lp hozanto super cancel into super. you can also just do U1 instead of the super after hozanto, but the timing is very strict.
the reason c.lp, c.lp, s.lp, s.hp is going to be his main bnb is because you need to mix up his pressure strings.
yeah, think about boxer. his main bnb isn’t c.lp, c.lp, s.lp, c.hk, but most top boxer players use it because it’s generally safe and you can mix it up and easy to vary it, you don’t have to commit to c.hk or anything.
for dudley, it’s basically the same, it works as a variation to pressure strings…c.lp, s.hk, ex mgb is a really good combo and is his bnb for combos just as balrog’s main combo is c.lp, c.lp, c.lk, headbutt.
but if i play against small characters, i just do c.lp pressure and if i’m about to get pushed too far, i end with s.hp in hopes that the last c.lp counterhits or in hopes they try to jump back or something and it’ll catch.
mr k…don’t be stealin my strats once you realize how good s.hp is in poke strings ^_^. lol.
the thing about dudley is his pressure game is sick…
humbag - i like how you try to determing how good dudley’s footsie game based off of ryu’s c.mk. lol. ryu’s c.mk is just GODLIKE, it beats almost everyone in this game. but dudley has f+hp. if you use it as a whiff punisher, it’s good. but it won’t whiff punish c.mk, it’ll just make him block. but you can use f+mp as a whiff punisher too, but it won’t truely whiff punish, lol, too hard. you can also use lp version machine gun blow as a whiff punish for c.mk as well, but it’s hard as hell.
i do think ryu is a bad matchup for dudley though overall. ryu’s c.mk is just too good in that matchup, but dudley has some tools to try to turn the tides in his favor, it’s just hard.
So on Cody and Juri, chun li can combo a counterhit st. fierce…into a st. fierce.
whut.
bitchin’.
Not bitchin’.

Hey Jeff, what’s the model number of the Aquos that was at Anime StL?
No clue. Send moadib a pm about it
Any Makoto impressions?
At first she has a handful of dirty tricks until the opponent actually finds the big gaps in them. One of my main concerns is her small frame advantages across the board on block. That, and 4 frame jabs only. Jwong was using a focus attack and dash neutral reset a lot and going for a karakusa afterwards. That shit does not work once they see you do it once since it loses to jabs or throw or DP at a neutral state. Normal throw seems the best option, and after that works and they tech you open up a sicker punish option with IA Tsurugi which can give you a free Ultra 1 if you hit. Her kara throw is mad good, and I’m trying to find ideal setups for kara karakusa. If done right, kara EX karakusa is a sick setup. However, her big problem is dealing with backdashes. You can use EX Hayate or HP hayate if you see it coming and react FAST, but most of the better backdashes get them out of close range. I’ll be pulling shenanigans left and right against Ramen.
On a better note, she has some character-specific corner options. Against Dhalsim in the corner, for example, you can do something like: Karakusa, s.HP xx Hayate Feint, s.MP, s.MP xx EX Hayate, LP Fukiage, HP Fukiage, EX Tsurugi for something around 700-800 stun and 400 damage. And that’s an untechable knockdown. However, getting the Fierce feint Strong is giving me trouble, but I’m going to sit down and work it like the Fist of the North Star. Same for her kara options, although you can cheese most of them with shortcuts.
Fukiage alone leads to some mad juggles and stun for only one bar, but landing it is the hard part. It starts up slowly and if you do it too early or too late you’re eating a free jump-in. If they’re outside optimal range, you’re better off dashing under their jump or hitting them with a normal and dashing under for a crossup.
Ultra 2 is pretty disappointing. It’s going to have very limited use. I can see using it versus Dhalsim and a handful of other fireball characters, but there’s no way to realistically land it in most matches, and it can’t get Guile’s booms. The Guile matchup is hella bad, but I need more info and setups to actually land crossups after knockdowns. Ultra 1 is just so more free. Main ways in are from karakusa, IA MK Tsurugi, or from Super cancel off a Hayate. There’s a few other ways to get in, like off a CH s.MP.
Expect to get mad a lot as you first play her. Don’t go dashing in mindlessly unless you like free low forward xx fireball. Also, if I catch you doing random hayates I’ll trashtalk you to no end. With Makoto if you mess up squeezing out even one extra drop of stun, you’re going to regret it, hence the importance of the Feint combo as her new BnB. Each matchup has potential for a completely different strategy.
Oh, and did I mention you better learn how to block?
Final Note: I have a scan of her Prima Frame Data, although it mentions it’s not from the final build and looks sloppy since it doesn’t list cancels or chains, and it even mashes character moves together. Derp.
Good shit! Thx jeff.
Scamp- the phone is likely in your car between the seat and the center console, mind checking for me? If not, shit, needed a new phone anyway >_<.
Good call!
It was there? Yay!
