wakeup thunderbolt? maybe ex?
You get ultra off of EX Cross Counter though so it’s totally not an even trade.
Big props to Outlaw Star for dominating the competition in KAMEN RIDER: DRAGON KNIGHT. He is truly a god among men. Gotta step up yo game, Jeff.
2 more days!
Yeah i big ups, i get u lunch too scamp :D. And dave u still owe me five bucks change for MW2 :D.
And i wanna say whats up to danomighty, did u come out alive?
Gnarr- lol u shoulda been there.
Psycho- two days LOL…
So instead of maybe Midrivers Monday (I wouldn’t be able to go anyway. I spent more than I should’ve getting Super and not being able to use my giftcard), maybe you have a session Monday, Rex? Since I don’t have to be up at midnight to get the game, I may call in at work and see if they need me. If you set it a session up, then I won’t call. Lemme know.
Shut up Rex! Lol. I can’t find a store ANYWHERE that will break street date. Fuuuuuuuck.
Rex, how’s your liver? I’m genuinely concerned. Scamp I would ask the same, but I’m pretty sure you’re running on a cybernetic liver at this point.
sry i couldn’t make it to AR guys, i’ll give you those mc chris cds whenever i see you rex. i’ll def be at MWC at this point though. you still gonna roll with us sparx?
Aye, aye. Either way it’s a better plan than what I originally had in mind, and it’s always better to travel with some bros.
so yah, dudley is really good. i’ve been messing playing with him all day today.
he has prolly imo the best frame traps in the game.
his normals are hellla good.
like i said, his wakeup options suck. forget safejumps, you can’t even do ANYTHING on wakeup if they meaty you. meaty’s beat EVERYTHING he has except for ex DP and the stupid charge down up move. soo laggy, but i guess you can burn 2 bars to make it safe, lol.
if dudley gets knocked down, he’s basically putting himself in a really bad situation by having no options to do anything.
with that being said, you’re defense with dudley has to be really good in order to do well with dudley.
i’m pretty sure c.lp, c.lp, s.lp, s.hp is gonna be his best bread and butter. 1 frame link, but i hit it everytime with p.link.
his f+hp is hella good poke. -2 on block, +2 on hit. it’s safe and if it hits, you can continue pressure using c.lp or f+mp or f+mk.
his f+mp has decent range and is good poke for priority.
his f+mk is hella good pressure tool. +3 on block, +5 on hit. lots of options. so like you can do f+mk, s.hk, dash upper, super cancel. so much damage!!
his ground game is really good. you zone with s.hp, f+mp, and his s.lp. his low’s aren’t that good. his best low is c.mk which knocks down but the range is not great and will prolly only be used as surprise tactic, kinda like bison’s c.hk, lol.
dudley’s best punishment combo is s.hk, ex machine gun blow, dash upper. that’s the combo i feel that every dudley player is gonna use to punish whiffed wakeups, etc. it does the most damage, makes sense.
his DP sucks, did i mention that like 1000x? loses to meaties. as an anti air, it does ok. i would say 60 % of the time, u’ll be successful using it as anti air. but i feel like you have to train them. use ex counter as anti air. and once they are afraid, then use dp. the reason i say 60% u’ll be successful is because u have to distance urself well. the angle is fairly strict, like not insanely strict, but u definitely need good ground game to make it work.
i saw those traded dp combos. they are actually pretty good. basically everytime you dp, just go for ducking straight or upper. if it doesn’t trade, u get nothing, if it does, u get ur combo(most the time) cause there are certain trade animations where u can’t get this. like on some trades, he gets more reel back, kinda like ryu.
and for like throw/option select baits, u can do like c.lp, then go into lk version short swing blow, and if you see that it’s going to punish a throw whiff or something, cancel into super if u have it.
to add some more info on dudley…
if you land a level 2 focus crumple and dash back. his best punish is just to dash forward and hp DP.
dudley’s focus attack is one of the best in the game, it’s one of the furthest reaching ones.
his overheard can be comboed off of, which is pretty cool. but i haven’t implemented it into my gameplay yet. i’m just trying to focus on my ground game right now with pokes. and so far, dudley seems really strong with them.
i’ll do some writeups on some other chars as i learn more. but i definitely been hittin the laboratory with this shit. excited to see what other people come up with. i’d like to see what people think about the chars they play.
like scamp, anything new with sim that u like, dislike? any juice for new chars?
anyone, just post up, we gotta share some info.

That’s some mad BnB.
Man Allen, sure Dudley’s damage is insane, but…he has zero footsies.
If he gets pushed out, what do you do? He has nothing that works reliably vs good c.hps and c.mks.
Sure if hes point blank, f+mk is beast but from afar hes like a fish out of water haha. Hes definitely going to require a lot of work.
I don’t see this being that useful. s.lp whiffs on crouching characters. It’s really only useful for beating walk up throw/poke off a low jab, and you can do cr.lp xx cr.lp -> s.hk xx EX MGB/Jet Upper for more damage/knockdown. Easier link too. The thing is that you can only do 2 jabs before the s.hk instead of 3 for the s.hp. But then you could just finish the combo with cr.mp xx mp MGB/lk ducking upper. I guess s.hp is safer to do than the ducking/mgb.
Actually s.hk xx EX MGB -> ducking straight -> hp Jet Upper is a bit more damage and hits mid-screen. Then if you have ultra you just substitute the hp Jet Upper for ultra. In the corner you can do EX MGB -> cr.hk -> cr.hk -> ultra for more damage than the mid-screen combo. The second cr.hk is hella hard though.
It doesn’t work on everybody but lp Jet Upper -> hp Jet Upper does a bit more damage.
How does it do vs lows hitbox-wise?
s.hk -> cr.lp is a 2-frame link so it shouldn’t be that hard with practice. I’m gonna do f+hk, cr.lp, s.hk as my overhead combo because I suck at 1 frames. Also you can just combo directly into super and that’s easy.
See, I feel like Rufus and Abel have this exact same problem, and I don’t think they’re bad. Dudley has better pokes than them too so he’s not as bad off. But yeah you’ve played the game way more than I have so your opinion is probably worth more.
Someone post some AR vids?:lovin: I am at work and very bored.
I played a little Dudley this weekend. 2 x cr.lp link to st.hk definitely seems like the way to go. Yes, when he gets zoned out he kinda sucks, but his damage is good and he’s hard to shake when he gets close. One shitty tip I have is to do the lk swayback when the opponent is getting up, beats command grabs & lots of other stuff. Here’s some Guy impressions I typed up earlier:
Getting the FF chain into Ultra in the corner is easy, but the chain only works on a standing opponent. To Ultra on a crouching enemy in the corner, you have to do cr.lp link (or if you want to hit low, cr.lk link to cr.lp) to standing mp-hp cancel to LP hozantou into a FADC - Ultra SUPER FAST. I’m slowly getting better at it, but it’s not easy. Guy does decent damage, and most of his combos are pretty easy. However, he has serious problems with grapplers, because he is best when he is in your face putting the pressure on.
His jumping d+mp elbow is godlike, it has priority over almost everything…it’s like his legs are not even there to hit. Also amazing is his j.mk crossup, the hitbox is ridiculously large. His standing mp (close or far versions) is a great poke that you can cancel, or chain into hp & cancel (but if you’re too far away, the st.hp will whiff, gotta space properly). His standing jab is pretty fast and has great range, but it only hits standing (like he punches the top of their head, this move whiffs on a lot of stuff). Close HK is amazing, because you can link almost anything afterward, but the kick also whiffs on crouch (and even some stunned/crumpling characters, i mean come on).
The best thing about Guy is his mobility. He can be anywhere on the screen in the blink of an eye. You can simply overwhelm most people with your mixup + speed combined (I don’t think he’s as good as Ibuki in this area, but it’s still one of his good traits). His life seems slightly less than most, and by the time you combo into his ultra 1 it usually does piddly damage (but at least you get to use it). His grab ultra is probably awesome, but I’ll need more practice with the motion before I can do it fast enough to catch people off-guard. His focus is average-slow actually, but it has good range. Guy relies on corners, but luckily he can maneuver so well (and his EX hozanto launches someone like a full screen) it’s not hard to always be close to an edge. Run-stop is too shitty to actually cancel anything with, but his regular forward dash is ridiculously fast.
Overall, I think he’s a “good” character, but lots of characters seem good at this point. He’ll probably be overshadowed by Ibuki as far as a mixup-heavy character goes, but there will still be players that do well with him.
crack session w/ allen = top tier.
we both agree as of now, top 3 in vanilla is still top 3 in super. my 2 cents…ryu will never leave the top 3 spot ever. as for everyone else, we know this will change after its released and shit is dissected.
lots of dudley talk. my opinion…safe and practicality, go with aks. if you have damn naer perfect execution, go with mr. k. i’d rather go with safe and practical.
good day.
All that and I still didn’t talk about AA, lol. He’s got lots of good AA options, like so many that you are paralyzed by choices. You can standing far HK (this is also a pretty good poke, think Bison’s HK), you’ve got crouching HK (slide right under anything they throw at you, but you’re right next to them when they land), MK or HK hurricane kick work well (mostly for far jump ins, he goes up at a weird angle). EX hurricane is awesome (for anti air, wakeup, anytime you need invincibility, it’s just tits), you can TK his air grab (awesome priority, but I don’t quite have the timing yet or it loses to certain moves, needs more testing but does WICKED damage). If you are doing a bushin flip when they jump at you you’ll more than likely win, but you can’t react with this move (I don’t think you can do anything until it reaches its peak). Jumping HP is pretty good air-to-air, and jumping MK just has a sick range on it. Jumping straight up, i’m not sure what you want to use…HP does the same thing, but they shouldn’t be above you (it kind of hits up like Abel’s jumping diagonal HP), HK might be good but the timing on it is weird.
DO NOT EX HOZANTO AS AA. You will fly right under them, lol.
