Nah, playing a Vulcan is hard as shit. Humans show subtle emotions in every action and movement… Having to dead all that for a role takes extreme effort and dedication on the actor’s part.
one of the things that also annoyed me was how wayyyy too casual that star fleet ship was lmfao. Everyone was too buddy buddy. pretty sure someone was layin back with a chipotle bag somewhere in there.
Could be argued that the bridge is as stoic as the captain. If the captain is chill, the crew is chill. The Asian captain felt more like a mom… a teacher, she seemed more caring compared to someone like Picard who was super serious 90% of the time.
Looking at the season preview doe, the next captain doesn’t look chill at all.
I watched ep1, it’s much better than I thought it would be. Feels closer to the new movies than the shows. Also aren’t these the Klingons they wanted to use for the JJ Abrams movie but got left on the cutting room floor??

I thought Discovery had potential after watching the pilot. I’m not paying for All Access for it though. The show has issues but pretty much every Trek pilot had issues. I’m gonna be that guy and nitpick something. They didn’t have holograms back then in the Trek universe. I don’t think they had cloaking tech at that point now that I think about it. Side note: Am I the only one that found the Klingons more appealing than the Federation in the Pilot?
