I watched ep 1 of Orville, it was not good, but I’m going to give ep 2 a try just in case it was just a poor pilot. I’ve never found Seth McFarlane as a lead funny.
Ive seen way more positive coming from orville than negative.
From people who still find Family Guy funny?
nope. please most of the internet talk about family guy is hate. no these are generally scifi or star trek fans talkin about orville.
People so starved for Trek, they watching Seth McFarlane’s buffoonery in 2017… SMH.
lmfaoooo
Enterprise filled the niche between First Contact and TOS, and was done in a way that felt believable, continuity-wise. Plus, it had the luxury of occurring long enough before the events of TOS that you could forgo the lack of references to the past in TOS and the subsequent shows. Having Discovery set 10 years prior to TOS feels cheap. It’s like having an outlet to create new narrative, yet being limited in bringing anything new.
But, who knows? I’ll still watch it. [details=Spoiler]Resistance is futile…[/details]
The cool thing about the shows up to this point is, they brought something new, while fleshing out the universe. I also enjoyed the cameos throughout the franchise (e.g., Scotty and Spock in TNG, Kirk in Generations, Picard, Worf, Harry, and Tom in DS9, Troi and Barclay in Voyager, and Janeway in Nemesis). If they consolidated that type of stuff a la Marvel, Avengers-style, I could watch that all day. Renegades almost exemplified that by incorporating former cast members into their show.
I think Pre-TOS timeline should be like a neutral zone for Trek writers there was enough damage done with early Enterprise seasons and when they got things right by Season 4 the show was over.
Any new Trek show needs to be after the Movies (original timeline) up to and beyond TNG era.
New Trek needs to be during or after Voyager, ffs. God forbid they’d give the fans the first thing they want!
i hate when black people get starred in train wrecks…we become instant scapegoats and sets others back.
Wait? What? What about Sisko? Tuvok? Oh, it’s the new generation of trekkies, no wonder.
Guess Ohura wasn’t a thing.
She wasnt a lead she was a token

are you talking about the article or me? cause the article says female lead
Seriously, the fact they didn’t “remember” an icon such as Sisko pretty much tells me they don’t know shit about Star Trek and are just pandering to get quick hits.
She wasnt a lead she was a token
Token? She has Main Character levels of Plot Armor in the TOS.
First Black Actor to portray a ranking military officer on TV or Film.
First Black Actor to portray a main character on a Scifi/ Adventure Show, and it was on prime time.
And there Episodes she out Tech Wiz Scotty and Spock.
It also the show that let an Asian and a Russian Drive
TOS is also the First show that had a smart Scotsmen.

its the new age of journalism…they gotta write about anything trending to get clicks. since now their jobs are based on how many clicks they do and not the word count or content really. they write junk and fast to get ahead of everyone else.
Sounds like college papers/essays that students write nowadays. Most are not about quality but how many pages one must have to get a passing score
