It seemed like Marn was playing on autopilot with Yun for most of the matches. Like Sabin said, noone on the EC has Yun experience.

I remember reading that interview and realizing Daigo/Tokido/Mago were wrong/full of shit when they thought Fei was the best. Fei is very solid no doubt, but he isn’t completely retarded. You can actually keep fei out to some degree, and he doesnt have a retarded dive kick. Yun can basically keep you on lockdown forever until you make a “mistake” (wrong guess) unlike Fei. His regular dragon kick is safer than Fei’s flame kick unless Fei burns two bars to cancel.
Both their ‘Dragon kicks’ are ass, really.
And Fei Long is not strong because of his rushdown.
Him and Yun play differently and have different strengths.
Yun is more like a better SSF4 Rufus essentially. He is frailer and has bad ultras at least.
You can’t even fadc Yun’s dragon kick, how is Fei’s safer?
And fei’s strengths are more than just relentless rushdown.
Yeah Fei is more of a mid range than a rushdown char.
And I think it’s still way too early to say that Yun is better than Fei (or vice versa). From what I’ve seen so far though, Ken, Sagat and Adon just outclass Yun.

I think he meant how it carries Yun like 3/4th of the screen away. Even on block I see it go unpunished alot.
Eh Yuns dive kick may not be as aggressively good as rufus’ but its good enough to start his inane offense. c.lk intomore c.lk/thow/cmdthrow/another dive kick/dragon kick if you’re feisty/frame trap normal horrid horrid guess until he lands his big dmg combo. + infinite meter gain. Again and again and again. cute capcom, very cute. I think Bisons still pretty damn good too.
I don’t know, rufus can do it lower, but yun can chose the angle and from what i’ve heard it also does more hit/block stun
Yun’s divekick also has a worse hitbox.
Yuns divekick is also +frames on block from what I’ve heard from people who have read the AE mook,whereas Rufus’ is 0 on block.

Dive kick frame advantage depends on how early (i.e. how high) they hit you. Getting hit in the face is different than getting hit in the feet. That’s why advantage on block/hit usually isn’t listed for air moves.
+16 is definitely wrong either way because that would mean Rufus would have a dive-kick infinite, and he could raw ultra. Not to mention it just doesn’t even feel right.
Yun’s divekicks are apparently -3ish on block, but since the notes haven’t been translated yet, I’m assuming that’s if he hits you up close the earliest he can do it. If he’s farther away, he’d hit you lower down, and he might be neutral or + on block.
Yun’s frame data
Rufus’s dive kick starts up in 11 frames, and does 11 frames of block stun/15 frames of hitstun.
Landing recovery is 4 frames, Rufus has 4 prejump frames.
That seems like it would be +7/+11, but the divekick can’t hit at the lowest possible height, so.
Whoever did the calcs on os.com is bad at math.
If you hit someone with Rufus’s dive kick at the lowest possible height I would guess it’s somewhere around +6. On block it’s about maybe +2, but that’s an estimate based on my experience. I judge this based on how easily I’m capable of linking st. lk, or st. hp after the dive kick.
Edit: Well, I just did some testing and you can make a safe block string if you do a low meaty dive kick with st. lk and st. hp. So I guess it is about +6 or +7 on block if you do it perfect. That’s pretty surprising to me, I didn’t know it was that good.

The character that can be used has increased and Fighting in the team became more interesting. Because AE became well-balanced.

I get it, I really do. AE is more balanced because a lot of characters got better. Over all more characters are now what SRK calls viable in tourney settings. im still not seeing why SRK can’t understand that.
Still AE Makoto vs Super Honda would still be full blown rape against Makoto. and those nerfs against charge characters still piss me off way to much atm.
AE <<<<<<<<<< Super any day imo for the sole reason that the only herp a derp you guess wrong type characcters was limited to only Viper, Akuma, Abel, and Fuerte. But that’s me SF4: 3rd Strike isnt doing it for me.
AE really does feel a lot more fun/balanced when yun/yang aren’t on the screen
