But I honestly think Makoto, Sakura, Adon and Ken are going to be the most underestimated characters in AE. I’ve seen some really good shit from them at a very high level of play. They’re a lot better than people think right now.
Just look at how bad hsien chang played in that Texas tourney this week and still made it to grand finals. Spamming ex lunge and upkicks left and right and never getting punished for it.

With yun’s dive kicks it’s already easy enough to get in and break the other player’s defense, if you have to resort to using ex lunge EVERY round AT LEAST once to close the gap, you’re not playing well. Sorry.

At least with Sagat you had to know how to fireball space when to fireball, and when to rush down. Honestly fuck Yun. Sagat was way more dynamic and interesting than this kid.
No it’s not spamming. And it’s definitely scrub mentality to cry spamming when it’s a legit good move. A 1 bar ex move that breaks armor, is safe on block, and travels nearly full screen? Who wouldn’t abuse it?
Yun is definitely an overpowering character but Hsien Chang didn’t get a free win because he plays Yun. He’s one of the best if not the best player in Texas.
I don’t know man, when I watch Daigo’s or Kindevu’s yun videos I don’t see them using that move every 20 seconds. Shit not even Marn does that. Yun can make better use of his ex bars (GJ), he shouldn’t waste them to travel full screen safely when he can do that shit just as well by walking and using dive kicks. Just my opinion, that move is just too damn stupid. Good thing is that by the time we’ll get AE on console it’s gonna get nerfed. I’m all for offensive characters but you should at least put SOME effort into getting your offence started

id really like to have seen if sagat woulda been so good if capcom hadnt nerfed the shit out of him. i admit ive done my fair share of complaining about him in the past. but i dont know that he would have still been as hard to fight after everyone has figured out how to get around random DP>doomsday combo.

I disagree with anyone who says the twins are broken. They’re just very good and annoying to deal with. Just like Dhalsim can be annoying.
It’s gonna take time before people really learn the match up well enough and adapt to their playstyle. Of course until then, Yun is gonna kick some major ass. But in the end he’ll probably end up like MvC3’s over-used Sentinel. Everybody’s gonna know how to deal with that little brat.

Tournament wise, Yun vs Fei is way more entertaining to watch than Ryu vs Sagat, Dhalsim vs Guile or E.Honda vs M.Bison.

Here we go, another fucking 3rd strike BB GG fan boy. there is nothing dynamic in a character who all he does is dive kick for free, jab for some meter, has tools to say fuck your footsies and zoning, makes you guess whenever he is close for free, and then go crazy with more mashing after activating super. Seeing people bush buttons because it works isn’t entertaining.
Balrog, fucking Balrog is so much more dynamic and interesting than Yun/Yang. At least he has to do things other than mash dive kick.

I’ve seen a fei player stuff the attack with neutral jump roundhouse. The attack isn’t completely invulnerable.

There’s nothing wrong with zoning when it’s well done. And I love footsies too.
But what makes you a “scrub” is the fact you are unable to adapt to a more aggressive and changing environment. You rely so much on throwing fireballs that you thought you could get away without having to block, tech and think. Now characters like Yun force you to think more before you act. You actually need to block and tech vs them because they control space and rush you down without fear which is something you zoners aren’t used to.
Oh and btw, I’m not a Third Strike fan boy by any mean. In fact, I’ve never played it. I don’t see what that has to do with anything.

I play Vega for the love of god, Yun isn’t going to make me play diffrently since I already have to do all that crap to begin with. And if you think throwing fireballs is a brainless task well im just going to stop because im not going to get anywhere with you.
Yun is more brainless than Sagat’s zoning game or anybody zoning game ever was.
