I don’t believe it until I see a 60 frame video camera break it down. I will believe the RSF changes, but that and the jab buff is nowhere close to compensation for his other nerfs.
I think as far as Guile is concerned, Capcom just doesn’t want him to be a character with viable comeback potential. You’re expected to just zone so well that it isn’t necessary. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that’s a flawed way of thinking (especially when so many other characters ARE unjustifiably given AMAZING comeback potential), but just saying it’s obvious Guile just doesn’t need it in Capcom’s eyes. And I gotta admit, I’m not complaining. As much as I appreciate high level Guile play, he is a fucking chore to fight in console SSFIV.
Honda got shafted losing that jab headbutt. Granted I hate fighting Honda. But I think he was nerfed too hard. How’s he gonna handle pressure? Rose u2 nerf doesn’t bother me as I’m a turtle anyway and all it means is I have the lead and I just keep it for a while. But she’s not even that crazy, heck. Fuerte’s worst move can smack her for using that ultra. Why nerf a non top tier? A one time get off me as opposed to several other characters with multiple get off mes.
Fuerte’s jab buff allows him to chain 2-4 jabs and run away for free. The damage is REALLY noticeable against low health types. But it tickles anyone else. Guac recovery is rather confusing. Ex guac can be used as an escape but if you see it coming and/or do something like Akuma’s demon flip you’re still punishing it. It just makes it easier for pressure characters to get in on him and kill him.
Fuerte’s run stop does feel faster though.
Guile’s u2 nerf was…stupid. Same with air grab nerf. That’s his signature move. What needs to be fixed is how his auto correct screws him over.
Well, the damage is really laughable now. And the slow startup hurts it’s viability as an anit-air as well as in fire ball wars. It’s almost as useless as Roses U2 now. With both Rose and Guile, you’re better off just choosing U1 in AE. Just because they aren’t quite as shitty as either characters U2.
in the context of how good certan characters are in AE now, i dont think rose should have lost her ultra 2 (considering a good chunk of the cast has crazy offense)
Rose players bitching about U2 saying how she has no reversal need to put into perspective some characters that have had that issue since vanilla. Vega anyone? His u2 gave him his only decent reversal which can be safejumped and punished much harder than Roses U2. They still added a frame of recovery to it and I think we can all agree that Rose is just a tit higher up on the tier list than vega is and ever will be.
Mostly right.* Seriously, how often do you see like characters with solid offense that are generally seen often totally rushing the shit down out of rose once her u2 meter is gone? The characters who rush rose down and she has trouble with are characters who give EVERYONE trouble. Rufus, Seth (even match up, but seths rush down is great), ive heard good akumas can make it tough for her, viper, bison. [just a complete shot out of left field of chars that can rush down well]. All of these matchups are winnable for her but are tough cause of THOSE characters. Everyone has issues with those characters rush down, this is not an exclusive rose issue.
Why those rose players feel like THEY need a risk free get off me ultra twice a round is beyond me. Especially since PLENTY of characters have it worse against the characters that can rush her down well. How often do you see ANY rose get “rushed down for free” when she doesnt have u2? The way you rose players talk is like its so easy to get in on her and just blow her up entirely. You forget you have the 2nd best backdash in the game to mash on when you dont have U2.
other characters have dp fadc, safe/semi safe ex moves to keep those characters in check. what does rose have outside of u2? ex soul spiral doesnt cut it.
An unbelievable backdash, 4 frame low strong, OTG cl.mk, retarded pokes, jump back fierce, completely safe slide that leads to CH cr.strong into a safe spiral (if you do the wrong strength, can be dp’d between strong and spiral), ridiculous zoning, a great fireball and fb nullifier and an unbelievable backdash as well as a backdash that is unbelievable and a backdash that is 2nd to only chuns.
Oh right, and blocking. Remember that old technique? Plenty of characters have it just as bad/worse than Rose and have never had the ultimate momentum stopper like she has. For some reason Rose players are the most vocal and feel they are most entitled to have some retarded risk free ultra.

Yea it’s all about Rose players…other less than solid character mains don’t complain their ass off. Anyway, my guess why it seems to be so many complaining about Rose would be that a VAST majority of Rose mainers picked her up mostly due to U2 in the first place. Let’s be honest most didn’t play her in Vanilla (nor were they likely even remotely interested)…Rose is a pretty basic character that’s fairly easy to use at a moderate level…good pokes,easy links with healthy blockstun, fast groundspeed, good anti airs, and able to combat firespam, U2 was just the icing on the cake. Hell I crept into G1 in vanilla and I can still use 2hands to show how many other Rose players I faced along the way.
If we’ve learned anything it’s that Capcom services the whining about “cheap” characters/moves (Cammy,Guile,Seth,Rose say hi)…SO if we could by some miracle get the majority of the players to b!%?# about what their characters don’t have and leave characters that aren’t broken nor OP alone then we might actually see something progressive.
