skatan was right, so screw that.
Its Japanese exposure that convinces shmucks on this website that a character actually has options. Funny.
Its better than never realizing that a character has options :P.
Even with the crLP buff to Fuerte, he’s going down in tier. a JAB buff does NOT make up for the nerf to Guacamole’s recovery, They did NOT fix the Guacamole Trade, which is terrible. the Back Run deadzone is still there which is also terrible. Tortilla is absolutely useless now as it has zero invincibility and is far easier to hit out of now. It still has it’s safe setups, but since it’s only there for that now, it’ll be that much easier to get around.
Newcomers Yang and Yun annihilate him once they get in.
Footsies, his normals with the exception of Far MP, far lp and crLP are ALL garbage and slow in AE.
I don’t understand Capcom. WHY make a low tier character worse? Were all the scrubs really complaining about him?
No health, no damage outside of high risk with RSF, crap normals, nerf after nerf after nerf, Arcade Edition is Fuerte’s worst iteration.
But, it ridicoulus. When non-character specialist (usually the masses) tell you that the character is garbage and has no options. Its especially annoying because they don’t know jack shit about the character other than the basic one week they spent with that character. Knowing how to use a character is different than knowing what a character’s objective is during a match.
Which is why I get annoyed when a top player says character X is garbage and everybody else then goes and agrees with them (Daigo/Mago/Justin come to mind). Its even more annoying when player X does something with character X and everybody who was using character X knew about it, but every one else is like OMFG did you see that! Character X is now viable. IE Gamerbee at EVO 2k10. Had Justin punished Gamerbee’s Jaguar Kick, I can guarantee you that Adon would never have gotten the band wagon routine.
But its even stupider and funnier when character specialist come to this thread and scream no at the match up numbers.
It doesn’t take a godlike player to figure out the options a character has. Any one with half a brain can figure out all the little things about a character. It just takes a “god” or “godlike moment” for the mumbling morons to acknowledge what is known.
@densou
Well its becasue its no fun to play against him. Every character that was considered boring got nerfed. Ryu, Fuerte, Guile, Blanka where nerfed. So there’s the logic behind the nerfs. In a selfish way, im so happy Fuerte got nerfed. Guile/Blanka are x1000 times funner to play against. I don’t like losing because I guessed wrong. but was it justifiable, not really.
Wut? If his ex lunge punch was -2 on block instead of +1 it would still be godly outside of gief/thawk. It does good damage, knocks down, gets you in for free, can combo into full animation ultra 1 on hit, safe on block, travels almost fullscreen, and it’s too fast to really do anything about on reaction.
Though no one cares and this is unrelated but since you said Gamerbee…apparently he joined TTC same as toxy and tokido.
PS: +1??? what bullshit. no wonder lots of people spam that move…
no it would not. with it being -2 on block Yun may be in, but he wont be able to continue the offense.
-1 or -2 is a common advantage after moves such as:
-DP FADC forward
-FA lvl 1 (character dependent)
-blocked dive kicks
-meaty spiral arrow/spaced slides
-Ken’s Hurricane Kick (on hit)
and so on. When a move leaves you at point blank with a sufficient amount of offensive options (like every dive kick character has), it’s often quite possible to see those characters continue their offense very effectively.
Well that saves me the trouble of reading any other of your posts, rofl.
Yeah? your shitty Vega tier list on the boards saves me the trouble of continuing this conversation.
Ken has a 3 frame jab, with a 2 hit FADC Dragon Punch.
spiral arrow leads into IACS, FADC Dragon Punch, 3 frame normal
Dive Kicks have no height restriction (cept Juri) so they can lead into themselves again, usually accompanied by a FADC reversal move, and have a 3 frame normal that leads into knockdown.
Lv.1 Focus Attacks with a forward dash really dont lead into anything but grab, unless you reversal, are Chun-Li, or have a IA type move.
From what ive seen Yun cant FADC dragon punch. Does he have a 3 frame normal? And his dive kick has a height restriction. So i don’t so I don’t see how he is going to continue his barage as effectively as those other characters if he was -2. he isn’t Rufus where Galactic Tornado is -1/2 and has access to dive kicks and EX Messiah.
And, I forgot, he is using meter. What is the big deal. That is what meter is for. To tack damage, or have options.
Lol so I’m guessing you’re stating the advantages of each character? Then you forgot to mention that yun has a cmd grab that can then be lead to his super combo(easy 60%)…and a 3 frame reversal. You said that him using meter is a viable excuse for bullshit. You must have forgotten that palm builds alot of meter as well as the divekick into blockstrings. You make it sound like Yun is a weak character.
i know everyone is complaining about how ssf4ae feels nerfed but there are other people that think otherwise

I’m just waiting for someone to come along and show everyone Gens true potential, because i honestly believe he has alot of it.
Nah I don’t think he does
I tend to view them has balancing, not direct nerfs. They just made the entire game a lot better just like the transition from SF4 to SSF4.
I don’t think Yun’s has a 3 frame reversal, I think it’s 4 frames. Unless he uses EX cmd Grab he will not grab you if you happen to press a button. He would not be able to lead into his super combo since he would have used one meter to get in. The palm builds meter but in this particular instance it’s quite useless as we’re talking about IF Yun was -2 after EX Lunge punch (which he isn’t btw, he’s +1).
The move overall is ridiculous. It’s +1 which means he still has the momentum even after randomly lunge punching from full screen, which is unfair but you can react to it if he does it full screen (I reacted with Cody U1). Yun is far from a weak character and seems, from early speculation, that he’s harder to fight than Yang.
You can almost NEVER put Yun on the defensive, he’s ALWAYS attacking lol.
THANK YOU. I hate hearing people refer to AE as “Nerf Fighter IV”. Yeah, some characters are legitimately much worse than they were in previous iterations of SFIV. But that happens with every update to a Capcom game, some characters get better and some get worse. Overall though, I think most of the characters people are whining about getting hit with the nerf bat haven’t really been nerfed at all, just changed in order to play more to very specific strengths. Seth is the best example IMO. Everyone has been whining about him being practically Sean Tier in AE, yet watching Online Tony beast at the AE tournament at Round 1, it was looking to me like Seth has actually been buffed if anything. He’s just been changed in such a way to make him more effective to a very specific play style (balls out rushdown, in Seth’s case). This is how I view the changes to much of the cast; they aren’t really nerfs, more like changes geared towards reinforcing playing said character in a very specific way (as it turns out, most of these changes favor playing in a more aggressive manner. Which pleases me.). Aside from characters like Guile or Rose who unquestionably got nothing but nerfs.
Yun’s frame advantage after EX-lunge depends on when (i.e. how far away) he hit you with the move, just like with any other traveling move (e.g. tiger knee, psycho crusher, soul spiral).
It does seem a bit silly that a rushdown motion character has such a safe move.
No…it’s been confirmed by many players that it cannot be safe jumped so it is 3 frames. Yang’s however is 4 frames.
…And mashing buttons agaisnt someone who is rushing you down is probably the one thing they want most…
