Anyone know if TKD even tried Fuerte in AE? Or did he not even try Fuerte and go straight to Balrog? (Btw, I think it’s funny that Balrog players are dropping him because of the nerfs, haha)
sigh I cant image “Turbo” for consoles going to be a bit for bit arcade port.
I have my reservations about Blanka’s position in the tier list. Even though there’s a Blanka in the top 20, you can’t really judge how good he is off that alone. Even Tokido says it’s hard to maintain his ranking at Safari because of the high level of play there. He says going to other arcades helps his BP a lot. If Jimii is roughing up dudes at Safari (which I doubt), then maybe I’ll consider his position in the ranking as indication of Blankas strength. Otherwise I’ll just wait to see tourney results.
any thoughts on ibuki yet? got better/ worse? stayed the same?
-dime
Obviously better.
On the OP post, could January 2010 be switched to the appropriate 2011’s? Found my way to the recent lists, but it’s a little misleading.
My predictions are that capcom will release a dlc with the name Ultra Street Fighter 4(considering the name fo the costumepack) and will fuck up everything again trying to balance. I really really really hope they don’t balance it more because incase dlc would come out in june it’s just not enough time to see the real tiers. Super had even less than 1 year and not even that was enough…
Sad to see Seth so low. I was expecting a mid B range.
Losing jumping HP was a shame, but I don’t really see Seth staying at the very bottom for long.
why would you expect a character who is an unpopular choice to end up with an average BP ranking that was high? Popularity really influences BP ranking.
On top of that outside of Fei/Yun, all of the high ranked characters are arcade vanilla characters because that is what people are accustomed to playing.
C and D are all “new” characters(minus Fuerte), it’s just not reasonable to expect players to have spent as much time with them as they have with the old characters they’ve been playing for 2 and a half years.
How is it not reasonable?
Notice Seth falls 90% in the B tier.
Why would It not be reasonable to be surprised to see him in low C?
Read my above post, it explains it.
For the Japanese BP list, assuming it’s 10 specialists per character, it’s a pretty good assessment of character strength and weakness. More than the American theoretical bullshit.
I did read it. And it did not explain it. Hence me asking you.
Seemed pretty obvious to me.
Can’t be too terribly unpopular if he’s in the B ranking, wouldn’t you say?
the matchup chart has little to do with BP rankings in AE.
a) different game
b) japanese players are trending to arcade vanilla characters+yun+yang
I don’t know how much simpler I can put this.
It’s a little misleading though, when there are nearly 400 players represented, there are going to be obvious skill gaps.
You can’t say that Yun is getting the same caliber of player that Seth or Dan is getting.
Even so, you say it’s not reasonable to be surprised when a character falls down the list so greatly?
How foolish.
I don’t think I can put THAT any simpler.
What does popularity have to do with B rankings? What if only 10 players used him, but they were all the best in the world? That’d give him an artificially inflated S+++ rating, but says nothing about his popularity.
It’s not falling. You can’t correlate a matchup chart to BP, especially for different games.
Fair enough.
I believe in that answer.
Anyways as for my original point:
I have a feeling he will climb up to the mid B range again.
I feel that players are thrown off by his loss of jhp, but when everyone comes to grips with it things will go his way.
Edit: My obvious grammar mistake.
That’s true enough in a hypothetical sense.
But we all know if the top 10 players in the world used Seth, the world would be crawling with Seth players.
IE: Diago picks Guile (Diago having a rather powerful sway on the street fighter community) and so Guile instantly becomes more popular.
I see what you’re trying to say at least, but it’s flawed logic at best.
Your answer is informed by how people here and online (in SSFIV) choose characters though. There’s nothing to indicate that the people in those Japanese arcades choose their character based on who top players use. They tend to just find the top tier and roll with that.
