da fuck? This is a game, not a damn matter of life and death. Now, if we were REALLY fighting in the streets, then you’d have something, but we don’t.
And the points stands, subjective shit is subjective. My favorite matchups to play and watch are the Sagat vs. Sagat matchups and any others that play super defensive. I like that shit like a whore loves money.
Well technically gief can beat the dive kick, but its a total guess timing wise becasue who knows if Gouki did a safe palm instead or grab. Akuma can certainly rushdown Gief tho. Don’t forget s.hk pressure. In some spots it can get risky esp if Gief is a U2 specialist but kuma has the tools for both rush and down back. duh…
Thinks to self Akuma with buffed u2 could be pretty bad for Gief. No more lp gh chases
You obviously can’t read because you failed to read my posts twice now. I never mentioned that a characters with LESS rewards on knockdown are as threatening as ones that get more, where’s the logic in that. I stated that if you mixup your defence it makes it harder for your opponent to read you, therefore making them have to guess which option you choose.
Playing a solid ground game is more about anticipation and reaction then guessing so you’re completely off topic. How is guessing a throw different from guessing a TT from Abel? You obviously can’t deal with “mixup” so I’ll leave it at that. At the end of it all, we can all talk behind a PC, laptop etc.
When playing footsies or zoning, you have many factors to consider, your opponent’s position, your position relative to the opponent, the place you are relative to each ends of the stage, whether or not you have charge, the pace of the match intertwined by the current momentum of each player, etc. With all of that to keep track of and it continuously changes with every second of the match. When a character initiates a mixup, they isolate the entire game to two actions, and a single outcome. The idea behind almost every character in this game is to work for to get to that isolated situation. If mixup situations weren’t simpler then they wouldn’t be beneficial in the first place.
But yeah, you were suggesting they were just as threatening. But I’ll play your game and say mixups are not mindless, but it’s just they require less ability to execute. :looney: They’re more strengths based off the character than the player specifically. Rufus divekicking you is a universal bad, but how j wong uses down roundhouse like a decent poke is something unique to him.
a properly timed down+lariat will beat df dive kick or at least trade with it (into ex GH for knockdown).
The only thing that will always beat ex gh and lariat is a perfectly timed df throw…but what if he backdashes into spd or ultra? This isn’t vanilla, you can’t OS with df throw. Not even gonna comment on your df palm stuff because it’s complete bullshit and will get you spd’d most of the times. A zangied that spams lariat on wakeup (the ones you’re probably accustomed to fight) isn’t a good zangief. Believe it or not, lariats have to be timed.
Of course you CAN rush down zangief with akuma, but if you’re playing a competent player it’ll get you killed or at least it isn’t the best way to deal with this matchup.
Yeah but if the dive kick has to be done high enough to beat lariat, then that most likely means it’s not safe when you land, so maybe you can get punished by a reversal ultra/spd.
Only exception I think, would be Akuma’s dive kick, cause it does a good amount of hit/block stun. But any other dive kicks that are above Gief’s head can probably be punished by something when they land.
if you do the demon flip kick really high you’ll be safe if he blocks, but you’ll only beat his lariat if he’s mashing it…if he correctly times a crouching lariat he will beat or trade with the dive kick. Needless to say that akuma is not gonna benefit from the trade. As i said, the only thing that will beat a proper lariat 100% of the times is a perfectly spaced meaty demon flip throw. But if gief backdashes you can say bye bye to 25-60% of your life.
only chars that seem out of place to me are Rose and Ken… both lower than I expected, but when I go through and look at the matchup numbers I don’t really disagree with any of them.
Yeah, if thats the Super tier list Rose should be much higher then that. The rest looks decent, Fei Long isn’t that good in Super though, but he is nasty.
Glad to see im not the only one that does think akuma is top tier (the idea is laughtable), imo the top 3 are without any doubt cammy akuma and fei, guile will be fourth but not at the same level as the top 3. I dont think bison is top 5, not even near to it.
Zangief-Chun is not a 6-4, neither is sagat-gief. seth-gief is a 6-4 now lol? And imo ryu is 6-4 also.
The adon position is a joke, adon is high tier. Rose is not that low, and ken is better than that. Sakura is NOT LOW TIER. Please, dont rank characters if u dont know ANYTHING about them. The rest is more or less fine (imo fuerte is a bit better than that)
Some of dudley matchups are a joke, but not many people plays him.
This tier list has matchups wrongs but is without a doubt the mos accurate one ive seen to date.
Someone correct me otherwise, but i thought i read Champ gets nearly 90% of his Gief data from Vance’s matches. Vance can pound on some unsuspecting Seth, Chun, Sagat schmucks totally skewing the MU numbers. They really should be 7-3. Problem is people don’t like to give out 7-3’s. With good reason, its like throwing the word “love” around.
I do believe the Ryu MU is pretty even now with lost DP priority and trade > ultra missing though. Allows Gief to take SOME calculated risks. Obviously in AE that changes.
Abel does pretty good vs Guile once he gets into footsies range and EX CoD is better than a lot of anti-FB moves for stopping sonic boom spam. that’s about it though… I’d say the match is only slight advantage abel
