“I dont think that’s a big deal, he will probably need to be in your face to do it.”
Honestly what the hell where and are thinking. It is a big deal, its like saying Rufus not being able to combo into Ultra of a wall dive isnt a big deal because the Target Combo has to be right in your face.
Imagine if Dudley could combo of his fst.hk/hp whichever one he can combo off, and or overhead. But you wouldnt bitch, you’d say I have to be right in their face and its hella risky. Honestly just when I think I’ve read it all.
People overreact just because a character can combo into his ultra for free without knowing anything else of him. Do you remember the dudley hype pre-release? I surely do because I was one of the ones that made the radio podcast of the beta that got posted in the frontpage of eventhubs/srk, me amongst other like jwong were sure dudley was going to be top tier and look now. Not going to make the same mistake twice until ive tried the game for a long period of time.
We already have a lot of characters that combo into ultra for free, in fact most of the top tiers have a low damaging ultra or use it for punishing purposes or a bit extra damage.
Do you fear balrog because he can combo into ultra from a jab? Do you fear chun because she can combo into ultra from a short?
dive kick: much easier to anti-air than Rufus’s. Fei long can anti-air it with cr.MP, which leads me to believe it is similar to Adon’s Jaguar Tooth; you can hit his foot, but the hitbox for the attack itself is a little higher up the leg. On block, it leads into frame traps but only if they blocked it deep. If the divekick was blocked by the upper body of a standing opponent, throw will beat Yun’s standing and crouching LPs and LKs, making it likely to be the popular answer to blocked divekick. Even of the Yun/Yang player jumps to avoid the throw, he can’t do another divekick until he’s high in the air, which causes another high-blocked divekick. In turn, it seems like the main challenge for Yun and Yang players will be getting divekicks to be blocked deep instead of high.
both twins can go under projectiles (Yun’s shoulder, Yang’s HK or EX rolling kick)
both twins have an anti-air ultra (Yun 1, Yang 2)
Yang’s ultra 2 is not fully invincible, got hit with a jumping attack on startup as well as Seth’s far HP. Likely to be throw + projectile invincible, though. Anti-airs with full animation if you time it right, meaning the roll must end just before they touch the ground. The easiest way is to activate at the apex of the other character’s jump. Jumps with high horizontal velocity like Seth/Fuerte wall jump cause it to whiff.
There’s a bit more to learn with these characters. We need to find max damage confirmable combos, and we need to list out the properties of their moves. But unless something amazing is discovered (maybe 600+ guaranteed damage with Super or something, or an unblockable setup against most of the cast), I’m not convinced that they’re god tier. They still have to get in, and their divekicks are not as good as Rufus’s. Realistically I think they’re about as strong as Abel; they need to use bad normals to get in, but their anti-airs are consistent, their mixups at close range are deadly, and they have more options than most characters.
For now, i think Yang is better. He can play more defensively than Yun can thanks to his ability to anti-air from multiple ranges, especially with ultra 2. This will be advantageous in many matchups. Time will tell.
Placing Gen on your list and calling his bullshit unfairly, leads me to belive you are horrible, and or Bison. What bullshit does Bison now have other than wake up games?
Your failure to mention Honda for Super also baffles me.
no the ability to land a full Ultra of a normal is pretty big. especially if that normal is used up close etc. Am I over reacting, no, am I saying its bullshit? No, but what I am saying is that it is going to be a big deal. Just like Balrog’s combo into Ultra, its a big deal. But not warranted the amount of complaining people do, which by the way does absolutely no damage.
Pre-Dudley hype isn’t the same as Yang hype, one because Yang is already out and people are playing him as we speak, Dudley a lot of people just assumed he was going to be beast because he looked good against the CPU, and we also weren’t able to tell if/how many I frames his DP had and things like that.
We’ve seen Yang in action and top players have been constantly saying how he and his brothers are going to be really good in this game.
Close mk into ultra is a big deal, especially since it’s from a command grab. You just gotta train your opponent to block by baiting mashed moves, then bam…command grab him into close mk…you know the rest.
out of all the 3rd strike character none of them got a reversal that has invincibility on start up. unless it’s an ex move, but looking at the video it seems that yun an yang got invincibility on their non ex anti airs?
also yang can combo into both his ultra cool.
Can T. Hawk still be hit during recovery of LP spire? I dunno about AE but in Super Blanka doesn’t even need to ball preemptively, he can just hold down-back and react to everything T. Hawk does. Gonna mess around with Blanka in AE today, hopefully a T.Hawk player will step up.
it is unfair…fair would be if everyone had it, but no, only a very few characters have these type of easy setups
& what normal can Honda juggle into super/ultra??
What 220 Counter hit move does Gen have that is safe to throw out randomly.
Also, why the fuck am i responding when Honda has a simple, safe, easy to use, not punishible, bufferable move, that links into super, for retarded damage.
cr.lp, honestly. You want a list of this bullshit?
